Joined the natural labour & birth class with Louise. It was a very good class very informative, light hearted and fun class. Very thankful to be able to do these groups as I’m not being offered any through my hospital.

Natural Labour & Birth Class - Honest review
I found the Natural Labour & Birth Class somewhat useful, however I would have liked it to include more information. There were a lot of jokes and comparisons with food, which weren't particularly to my personal liking. It felt like everything which was discussed could have been done in 30 mins without going into too much unnecessary detail and repetition. Also quite a bit of the time was spent on promoting the paid classes and the Black Friday bundle offers. If the free class was an example to showcase what to expect in other classes then I'm afraid it didn't convince me being worth the money and time spent.

I’m really glad to hear you found parts of the Natural Labour & Birth Class useful. I also appreciate that the tone and pacing weren’t quite right for you. It can be difficult to strike the perfect balance to meet everyone's differing learning styles.
I am a little confused regarding one point you have made regarding food comparisons as this isn't something I am particularly aware that I do. You mentioned that there were a lot of jokes and comparisons with food throughout the class. The only times I reference food are specifically in relation to evidence. For example, discussing why curry or castor oil aren’t recommended to start labour, and reviewing the research on dates and raspberry leaf tea for birth preparation. These aren’t intended as analogies, just real clinical context. Outside of those moments, I don’t intentionally use food comparisons, so if there were others you remember that felt unrelated, I’d really appreciate you sharing them. I want to reflect accurately, and right now I’m not sure what I could be missing.
On the promotion point, yes, this is a free session, and I fully understand not everyone will want or need to purchase anything further. I keep mentions of offers limited to the scheduled break and the end of the class, not within the core teaching. That said, I do feel it’s reasonable to briefly signpost optional further support. This work is my full-time profession, not a hobby, and I do need to make a living. I hope that comes across as honest rather than pushy, but I’ll still take your feedback on board to make sure the educational focus stays exactly where it should.
The class is designed to deliver solid, evidence-based birth information in a way that feels supportive, human, and less overwhelming than traditional teaching. For many expectant parents that includes a bit of humour to soften the intensity, but again, I appreciate my teaching style isn't for everyone.
Thank you again for your honesty - even when it stings a little, it genuinely helps me improve.

A great antenatal class
I joined my first class with The Honest Midwife last week and I'm not exactly sure what I expected as I had never been to any sort of antenatal class before but it definitely exceeded my expectations! The class was fun, informative and straight-forward all at the same time. Our questions were always answered and nothing felt like a 'stupid question'. I also ordered the perineal massage oil which I will be trying out this week!

Enjoyed this free course into labour and birth. Covered a wide range of topics including the stages of labour, what to expect, hypnobirthing, what to do when labour starts, how birth partners can be of use and red flags to look out for. It was fun, informal but professional :) Thank you for all the information!

Really enjoyed the class
Really enjoyed the Natural Labour and Birth class. I learned so much from it and really enjoyed the style it was delivered in.
So many classes can be really serious and make you more nervous after but this was the opposite. I left feeling more ready and knowledgeable. Great class.

We absolutely loved Louise’s classes. We did the full course from start to finish and can’t thank her enough for her HONEST down to earth approach.
She was recommended to us by a friend. And we would 100% recommend her to anyone who wanted anti natal classes.
Our baby came 3 weeks earlier than planned and we still continued with the classes.
