Lots of information on website. Decided on the big one, only two of us but lots of veg and fruit peelings, also a big garden for grass cuttings and twigs. Ordering and delivery were faultless.

Great to hear you are happy with you HOTBIN and the delivery.
The key is you need to keep adding fresh waste, we recommend 2-3 times a week to keep the bacteria active.
If you have any questions our customer service team will always be there to offer advice.

It is a bit early to tell
It is a bit early to tell, but so far so good. I would have liked a bit more information on running the Hotbin, the green band on the thermometer for instance. I was expecting a detailed booklet too help, I feel a bit trial and error.

Thank you for your review and for your honest feedback.
We're pleased to hear that things are going well so far with your HOTBIN, it can take some time to build up the heat within the HOTBIN and it needs to be at least half full to start to seen an increase.
You should have received a user manual with your HOTBIN, please get in touch with our customer service team help@hotbincomposing or freephone 0808 168 8499 who will be happy to rectify this for you.

quick delivery, to the door, the cardboard surrounding the hotbox was vast, but the parcel in total was very manaeable for a 68yo woman

We agree despite looking heavy the HOTBIN is lightweight when empty. Also all the cardboard can be added into your HOTBIN composting mix to create your compost.

This is wonderful to read.
To hear HOTBIN has become “the very core” of everything you do in the garden is about as good as it gets, very high praise, thank you.
And two 200L HOTBINs? That sounds like a properly committed composting setup.
Wishing you many more batches of brilliant HOTBIN compost.
The hotbin does not actually work
The hotbin does not actually work, temperature remains low and it is not composting.

Svar från HOTBIN Composting
Sorry to hear this, we appreciate how frustrating it is when the temperature won’t climb and it feels like nothing is happening.
That said, a low-temperature is usually something we can help fix with a few checks: whether it’s at least half full, the mix of wet waste to shredded paper/cardboard, airflow may have been blocked some how.
Please contact our UK Customer Service Team via help@hotbincomposting.com or our free phone number with what you’ve been adding and the temperature you’re seeing, and we’ll help troubleshoot any issue for you. We want to get your HOTBIN working as it should!

New hotbin
Hotbin arrived on time, minimal assembly needed, less than half full at moment but internal thermometer already well in green so looking good👍🏻
16 juni 2026
Svar från HOTBIN Composting
Having minimal assembly is great bonus for HOTBIN users.
If you're in the green zone already, you must be over 40°C. Sounds like you have created a good base layer of waste and you HOTBIN is keen to get going👍
Keep adding waste little and often and you should be well on your way. Happy hot composting.
Svar från HOTBIN Composting
Thanks for sharing, and we hope the HOTBIN gets up to speed just as quickly! Happy Composting 🙂
Delivery was mediocre
Delivery was OK, although I didn’t receive any text communications to advise on the delivery time/date in advance so the initial delivery came unannounced whilst I was not at home. Redelivery was advised but the delivery was then picked up by an alternative van driver by mistake adding an additional day to the process!
15 juni 2026
Svar från HOTBIN Composting
Sorry to hear delivery wasn’t as smooth as it should have been, that sounds frustrating, especially with the first attempt arriving without proper notice.
We’re glad it got to you in the end, but we completely understand the extra day and mix-up wasn’t ideal. Thanks for flagging it; delivery communication is an important part of the experience, and we’ll feed this back so we can keep improving.
