I wanted to firstly say a huge thank you to a Matt in the sales team who was wonderful in his support in guiding me through my first ever ever eperience of financing a car. He really made the whole process easy and stress free! Although there had been an issue with my car arriving without an MOT and repairs required. As soon as this was apparent to me I worried that I would have trouble with getting the issues rectified but i can quite honestly say dealing with Adnan and Claire and other agents who took my calls amd emails were all brilliant. Answered the phone straight away and were always attentive and honest. Therefore given I had some issues I consider Hippo as a whole very good regardless to the issue, Nice work Hippo and a special shout out to Matt, Adnan and Claire. Good people that deserve the feedback. One thing I would say and why you did not get a 5 star is that i lost earnings due to the failed MOT and awaiting repairs. No gesture of good will was offered or considered which I find not a company let down because I did not deserve the stress and my clients I had to cancel were impacted. Thats not ok Hippo!

Realistically my score is 3.5 but can’t do half stars and rounding down seemed unfair.

Lewis who dealt with my sale was absolutely fantastic and he deserves 10/10, he was patient and I’m sure he must have been as frustrated as me at times when trying to sort the sale.

From the beginning of the week of collection I’d asked for the car to be ready, I knew I’d be collecting it on the Friday. I confirmed this on the Friday morning that I’d be driving from Sheffield to Peterborough to collect.

It was all finally in place late morning of the Friday. I arrived at Peterborough just after 4pm (I’d been told I needed to be there by 4:30pm at the latest). When I got there it turned out that the sales lad who had been in the email string (which included the Preperation Manager also who had to agree the collection, so it’s not as though he hadn’t seen the emails) had gone home and not passed it over to anyone else, so the first anyone on the sales floor was when I turned up.

The car wasn’t prepped, hadn’t even been cleaned let alone had the ceramic coating applied which I’d paid extra for!I asked to do the paperwork of the car whilst I waited as time was ticking on and I knew the salesman Josh who took ownership of it was doing what he could, even offering to go help the prep team apply the ceramic coating to be applied as he said if it wasn’t done right it doesn’t work.

The keys were handed over, no walk around, nothing. Very disappointing.

On Saturday morning, I had a good look around the car, passenger seat was dirty, the windows hadn’t been cleaned off properly. Around the boot was filthy, scratches all over the rear bumper, a scratch on the rear quarter, obviously the past owner who was a motobility customer as the receipts were in the book, had had a dog which is where the scratches were from in the rear bumper.

Emailed sales Monday with my concerns. Nothing offered to put it right. It’s rained today and there’s no way the ceramic coating was applied properly as the rain would have “beaded” on the car and it doesn’t.

Paying £61 a month for warranty and exterior/interior protection which now feels a complete waste of money.

Decided to take the plunge and bought a Range Rover sport (22 plate) from hippo motor group,have dealt with them in the past and had some great cars from them.
Haseeb dealt with me from start to finish and take my hat off to him,he is a credit to the company.
Had my new car approx 3 weeks now and love it.its unmarked,faultless and a dream to drive.
Thank you haseeb 👍 I will definitely be getting my next car from hippo again in the future.

Having recently bought a car from the Hippo Motor Group I am very happy with the service I received.There were a number of small issues that were all rectified prior to collection. Also when it was discovered that the rear parcel shelf was missing I was passed onto Claire at Customer Experience. She quickly arranged for a replacement that was delivered to my home address.

I was looking for a Tesla Model 3 Long Range and found one at Hippo Motor Group for a decent price. It had a few bodywork issues, which worried me at first, but they assured me they would sort everything out. A friend of mine had previously had issues with them, so I went in expecting the worst—but I was completely wrong! They did a fantastic job.

My advice to anyone considering Hippo Motor Group: keep in mind the sheer volume of cars they sell. Unfortunately, cars do develop faults, and people usually only leave reviews when something goes wrong—when was the last time someone called a company just to say well done? My experience with Hippo was great, and I would definitely use them again.

Good man who knows what he is doing

Complete shambles of a company contacted them for a car, paid the reservation fee, then were told by the time the paperwork had gone through that that car had gone; the same thing happened with two other cars. In the middle of the enquiry, there was no correspondence because the account manager had gone on annual leave and nobody else had picked up my sales enquiry. I really should have just left it then but pressed on. I secured a car, having the finance all agreed, and was advised that the turnaround time would be two weeks; almost 3 weeks later, there was still no car and complete silence from Hippo. No reply to texts; when called, I was advised someone would call me back( never happened). Email replies took a while. I have now cancelled my order; however, I have still been charged by companies for the finance and additional service because they have not heard from Hippo to go ahead and cancel/unwind dispite me reaching h out to cancel them; they need confirmation from hippo who have not responded to companies.

I can’t get finance on another card until Hippo returns the funds to the car finance company, as that is still shown against me.

1st contact with hippo 24th August; over a month later, no car, out of pocket for the reservation fee and additional warranty service sold to me.
