Very happy with my first delivery
I recently purchased my first selection of pork (loin steaks), beef (fillet steak) and lamb (square cut rump) from HG Walter and the quality has been exceptional. I have tried a number of online butchers over recent years and HG Walter is among the best and I will be ordering again in the near future

What a joke
What a joke! I ordered £140 worth of steak for the party on the weekend, and turns out they decided to deliver the order to a random address just because their delivery driver couldn't be bothered to read the number on the house. When I called them to ask where is my order the customer support told me to run around my street asking if any of my neighbours got my order. Are you serious? Are you telling your customers to hunt for their order across entire London? You really need to work on how you treat your loyal customers

I have shopped at H G Walters for years and think they are absolutely the best butcher. They take so much trouble even over the smallest order. Their meat is absolutely first class. I could not recommend them more highly.

We had preordered with you and had to queue for a ridiculous amount of time to pick up our order. You need to have a separate queue for customers who have preordered their food.

The best in London
I have been buying meat from these guys for a while now and they never fail to amaze the palates of the family. Excellent cuts, great butchering and one of the highest quality of meat you can get in UK. After trying many local, online and even imports we have all decided HG Walter is the final and the top place to shop for all our meat and poultry needs.

Good Product - Shocking Service
The meat was delivered in an un-insulated box left in my front garden. The driver didn't wait to see if I answered the door - the package could have been outside for hours on one of the hottest days of this year so far. When I questioned this I was told that the meat had been delivered by one of HG Walter's own drivers and that HG Walter's assumption was that deliveries by their own drivers would be immediately accepted and dealt with by the recipient. I do not believe this to be a safe or reasonable assumption.
In addition to this, the enclosed hard copy invoice was confusing and wrong. The delivery charge was itemised under a cryptic code and turned out to have been applied twice. When I questioned this I was informed that HG Walter knew of this problem with their printed invoices and that 'IT' were looking into it. I was assured that I would only be charged once for delivery - no matter what the invoice said. I will be checking my card statement.
No apologies were offered at any time.
Good product, seriously flawed service.
I won't use HG Walter again.

First and foremost, I am very sorry for the experience you’ve had. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. I was pleased to hear that you were happy with the quality of the product itself. We take a great deal of pride in the sourcing and preparation of our meat, so it’s reassuring to know that aspect met your expectations.
In terms of delivery, our parcels are intended to be delivered directly to the customer, straight off our refrigerated vans. Because of this, we do not insulate these boxes, and they are not designed to be left unattended. We have since spoken to the driver, who appears to have assumed that someone would be arriving to collect the parcel shortly after ringing the doorbell. That said, the driver should have waited to ensure you had received it. We are addressing this internally to ensure clearer procedures are followed going forward.
Most importantly, I apologise that this situation was not handled with the care and clarity it deserved when you first raised it. You should have received a clear explanation and an apology immediately.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us improve both our service and communication.
Meat quality was excellent
Meat quality was excellent. Communication was excellent. Delivery was excellent. However the delivery was incomplete which left bus chasing a refund which was made.
Clearly some internal procedures need to be looked at.
