Very well organised and great itinerary

I went on a semi- independent tour of Puglia, Italy with Headwater. A superb and professional company with excellent communication from booking up to departure.

Their travel app with the itinerary, location information and restaurants recommendations was very useful.

Highly recommended.

I think what sets Headwater apart is the app for your phone. We NEVER used a map I felt very comfortable knowing exactly where we were and if we missed a turn it would tell us. Knowing this I would book another trip with them.

Having used Headwater walking holidays in the past (pre Covid 2020) we found the company excellent. Since it has been taken over by a large conglomerate standards of accomodation have dropped considerably. The cycling holiday in the Algarve in June 2025 was subcontracted to Portugal A2Z holidays. Whilst the first and last Hotel (Memmo Baleeira Sagres) was superb, the Apartment Vila Branca in Lagos was basic and far out of town and the basic cottages in the middle of nowhere Aldeia da Pedralva was uninhabitable, so we left after one night. Dinner was only worth the money at Hotel Memmo in Sagres. The company now charges large amounts for taxi transfers. We booked our own flights and hired a car instead. I wrote a complaint with photos of the abandoned village in Pedralva and received a response from Headwater which appeared to have been written by AI. I will not be using this company again.

Top holiday destination with great locations, hotels, itinerary and transfers. Defo recomend and use again.

Great self guided walking holiday in Swiss Alps. All travel arrangements and hotel booking done for us. You can rely on Headwater for an excellent hotel.

My first (and wonderful) experience with Headwater. Professionally organized - felt there was everything I needed - great walks during the day, and a wonderful hotel to rest at the end of the day. Knowing that I would return to a nice, cozy place (with great food!) was certainly a nice thought during some of these incredible walks.

We would have given 3 stars if our concerns and more recently, our complaints, had been taken seriously or treated with more respect. A previous walking holiday in Sicily with Headwater was well organised and reasonable value for money. This Cultural Tour in Puglia was neither of those things. We wouldn't use Headwater again.

Fantastic holiday riding around the Italian lakes, wonderful way to see the country, leisurely enough for good lunches and dips in the lake. Great organisation from Headwater.

It was a beautiful trip. The Headwaters team was available and responsive.

This was a well organised holiday with four very scenic walks; a day in Cordoba; and a chance to cycle along the Via Verde cycle path. Rich with wild flowers and bird song while we were there.

Another great holiday from Headwater. A lovely hotel with amazing food and service, good transport links, a beautiful area and varied walks. Headwater staff were very helpful with sorting the flights and connecting trains, arranging the option most suitable with respect to timing and cost.

Headwater organised an excellent holiday for us.
The hotel was brilliant, the scenery was breathtaking.
The app provided by headwater to guided you through your walks was very useful, making sure all the walks you did were a great experience.
We were very lucky, with the weather which all helped make it a fantastic holiday.

Excellent organisation

We had a wonderful holiday cycling from Vienna to Budapest. The itineraries were easy to follow and the hotels comfortable and in good locations.
Everything was so well organised which allowed us to just enjoy the holiday. Would definitely recommend and we will be looking to do a second holiday!

Headwater holidays have put together a cycling tour of South Albania that exceeded all our expectations. The route at times looked challenging but the high quality electric bikes meant that my friend and I, in our 60s, managed it with ease. The Headwater Navigation App was very impressive and kept us on course at all times. Every day we received messages from Arjan, Headwater's Albanian rep, recommending stops for coffee and restaurants for lunch and dinner.
We have cycled other long distance paths with other companies but Headwater stand out for the quality of their bikes, the faultless navigation app and the comfort of the hotels located in the most beautiful places. The Albanian people we met were without exception friendly, kind and helpful and we were greeted with waves everywhere we cycled. What an amazing country and what beautiful people.
Our transfers to and from the airport by Ali and Arjan were stress free with lots of chat and information from both about Albania. They are both great assets to the company.
We felt supported by Headwater every push of the pedal and it all made for a very energetic but very relaxed holiday. We felt that this holiday was great value for money and I was so impressed that I intend to return in September to share this wonderful experience all over again with my husband.

Just back from our 3rd self guided cycling holiday, and our second in France.
As usual, all of the accommodation, although different, is of an excellent standard, and the suggested cycle routes are either on roads with dedicated cycle paths or lanes or little used but well maintained D roads.
Already thinking about our next cycling adventure.

Two of our party of 4 had to cancel their holiday for medical reasons. My husband and I intended to continue with our holiday with Headwater; however Headwater wanted us to pay and extra £106 each for our flights.
As per the T&Cs Headwater already had the deposit of £800 which the people cancelling had forfeited. It therefore seemed extraordinary that my husband and I should have to pay extra to maintain our booking.
Customer services were unhelpful and defiant. We will definitely not use this company again.

Itinerary as per brochure with additional nights as requested. Excellent e-bikes with good local agent support. Stunning views, although some very steep hills and the last day is on a hard gravel track for several kilometers.

Very poor customer service on what was an expensive cycling holiday to the Channel Islands. Very poor accommodation on the second part of the holiday in Guernsey, Guest House Moreton, which was quite a way out of town and not at all as described. Shower didn't work, TV didn't work, grotty outlook from room window. No facilities at all. Shame on Headwater for continuing to use such accommodation especially as the Customer Service agent I spoke with on my return told me they had had other complaints the previous week about this accommodation, ie no water in bathrooms. Poor bicycles provided again on the second part of the trip with no place to hold a phone in order to use the navigation app so would have been difficult to navigate the cycle routes.
