This was our third Headwater walking holiday and yet again, we loved every thing about it. So well organised and thought out. The walks were stunning, albeit a little challenging at times, but we had plenty of time to relax in the beautiful hotels and restaurants en route. We can’t fault our Headwater trips, we’ll definitely go on more, and would highly recommend to anyone who loves a more active holiday exploring the destinations at greater depth, for a more immersive experience.

Navigation app was difficult to follow; we got lost and wound up hiking highly trafficked roads...hikes were inappropriate. We did not use the app after the first day, nor did we use the luggage transfer. I asked for a partial refund, and they offered $100 off the next trip I booked with them! No, thanks.

We have been on ten vacations with Headwater over the years, taking as many as 5 of us on several trips. So we spent a lot of money with them. Early on the trips were great. The last two have been monumental disasters. The one before last, one of our rooms flooded, and Headwaters did not respond to our calls for 24 hours. There were other problems--too many to list. So we went with other companies for a while. Then decided to give them another chance this year. Never again! This last trip had terrible directions in their so called Headwater App. Two of our three kayaking trips were canceled. Some of the hikes were closed. Again, I could go on and on. Their response was to evaluate whether we should be upset or not. They promised to refund a small portion of our money, but never again will we do a Headwater trip. There are so many good companies out there. Go with one that cares if you have a good trip or not.

We have still not gotten the promised (partial) refunds for the kayaking trips that were canceled.

Our first holiday with Headwater. The organisation was excellent and the navigation app was very good. We did some challenging walks but they took us to some fantastic places and the scenery was amazing.

Headwaters communication is efficient and patient from the outset, regardless of the number of queries you put to them. The itineraries are always interesting with realistic distances. In our experience the hotels have been well located and of a good quality and just what you need after a long day in the saddle.

The whole trip was very well organised - with great communications, great hotels and an outstanding environment to hike in. Loved it.

Great family holiday canoeing along the Dordogne with Headwater Holidays. Kids ages ranged from 8 - 15. They loved it. Hotels were lovely.

From booking to experiencing our Headwater holiday everything went very smoothly. My personal sales consultant, Megan, kept me fully informed and dealt effectively with queries. The trip was very well planned, the whole trip ran like clockwork. We were based in a nice hotel located very conveniently for the activities. Our app was an excellent guide on our walks and our whole experience was excellent.

Great trip to the Dolomites. Amazing walks through beautiful scenery guided by the navigation app. Superb hotel. Would love to return.

We had an wonderful trip to Peru. We chose the private guide option, rather than the group tours of previous holidays, and wondered whether it would be worth the expense: it proved well worth the money. Our guide was excellent, and helped us to make the most of our time to enjoy Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, the Rainbow Mountains and a number of Inca sites

Itinerary changed at last minute….indeed I was driving down to Switzerland without a clear idea of the revised plan. They promised a taxi transfer on last day… it didn’t show up hence left to fend for myself. No meaningful support from local agent or Headwater UK. Fair and reasonable compensation offered after further consideration....maybe my problem was a one off. May give them a second chance.

Great organisation from start to finish, we walked the Portuguese Coastal Camino, 150+ miles, everything went brilliantly from the briefing in Porto to the Hotels to the baggage transfer.

Great communication from start to finish. Excellent choices and very well designed website. Knowledgeable staff. Overall a brilliant experience.

Well planned and organised. The staff were great at helping out with some problems I had initially. The navigation app generally worked well (despite my reluctance to use it)... I still prefer a map! The transfers were excellent and the hotels were a good standard.
