Whilst choosing walking footwear the assistant was really helpful and though she seemed to be on her own serving many clients, she was cheerful and happy to help. The till staff are good too

Had an issue with a brand new bike that was delivered, was sorted promptly impressed with customer service, all staff are very polite… Tom served me today and did a great job of it.

I was in need of a mudguard for my mountain bike, Tom from the bikes department was a great help. He pointed out to me where to find them and the best bit was, he gave me the advice I needed to get it fitted straight away. 5* for you Tom!!

Lily in the clothing department was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.
Lachlan was also very nice.

Shop workers were welcoming as soon as we entered the store, helpful in getting us what we needed and also at the checkout with JoshT:) to conveniently renew our membership.

I needed to buy walking boots or shoes and didn't want to spend ages trying on items which were unsuitable for wide feet so I asked Ryan for help. He knew his products, recommended 4 shoes, all of which were suitable, left me to try them on then came back to check how I was doing. You might think that is just part of the job, but I have been trying to find these for months in other shops, and assistants just don't know their products or do not offer really good customer service. Also if you have standard size feet online might be OK, but I just end up sending so many back because they are not as described it was refreshing to be able to try them on and check they fit. Thanks Ryan!

The store itself is big and had what I was looking for.

However I found two staff members quite rude. I wanted som boots which needed getting from from the store room. I approached two assistants who was talking to each other when I asked for help one just looked at me and said she will get it, pointing to her colleague. The lady who did get them for me was pleasant and attentive.

When I got to the checkouts the lady on the till seemed like she'd have rather have been anywhere but there. She asked if I had a member card, which I didn't, I have never shopped here before. She said do u want one it's £5? Which I declined as I didn't understand what benefits that would give me. She then smirked and said £69.99 then ( the shelf price was half of that , which I now understand is the price advertised only if you are a member, very misleading) so I said well how much are they with a member card? £34.99! I felt she could have explained the process better and almost seemed smug that I didn't realise they'd be half the price with a member card.
It has put me off coming back and If I do need to shop at go outdoors again I'd look at a different branch instead of Loughborough.

Matt Noon working on the hiking boot section was very knowledgeable and helpful and Go Outdoors price matched the boots, which saved us a lot of trouble. Very happy with our visit,

My partner and myself shopped at Loughborough on 29 January 2026, with the aim of purchasing new Walking Boots for both of us. We were served by very pleasant and helpful staff in the Footwear Department. We both were given several different brands to try which were available in our requested sizes. There was no pressure to buy anything as we were left to try the boots out. We chose a pair each and have been very satisfied with our purchases. Emily served us at the Check Out. As always a very positive experience when we visit GoOut Doors in Loughborough. Thank You
