A policy excess is standard across all types of insurance.
Unfortunately, cremation costs are not covered under your policy. This is a common exclusion within the pet insurance industry.
However, any vet treatment leading up to your pet's sad passing, including euthanasia costs are claimable.

Claimed a few times, no issues yet
I’ve claimed a few times now to be confident enough to say they do pay out and they don’t give you a hard time with trying to claim.
You submit the claims online on a portal, submit your paperwork and then they contact the vet for their own details.
That being said when you submit the claims it is difficult to know what you submitted because you are just given a claims number and you cannot see or review what you submitted - gets confusing if you’ve submitted multiple claims.
There were times where I could have claimed for a small sum early into my dogs life but I didn’t, with the goal that it will not make my premium as expensive in the future (I don’t know how true this is). My dog has now had a few surgeries with his age and they have been reimbursed according to the limits of his policy.
My main feedback is to allow increasing the max policy claim limit beyond 5k per condition. Given the recent changes in capping vet prescription costs, it may drive the other treatment costs up and current policy limits will be insufficient.
I had taken the policy out many years ago but did not make any claims for several years either. For this reason, I would also ask Frank to check each policy when it is first taken out to ensure dog details such as breed are correct instead of waiting until a claim is submitted, because it can leave you worrying if your cover is going to be affected - luckily mine was not.
Hope this helps other people out there. I will update if any issues or changes.
