Misleading information on the weekly…

Misleading information on the weekly and monthly tickets. Looks like you can travel all over South West Wales when in reality to Gower and Cardiff it is other companies. Expensive tickets. No service on Sunday between Port Talbot and Swansea. Literally NO service. Shocking. Driver attitude to be fair has improved a little in this region (Swansea and Port Talbot / Neath). It used to be shocking but now they are friendlier and more helpful. The one star review relates to the bad-faith and misleading advertising for weekly and monthly tickets. Thank goodness we did not buy the monthly!

I would like to warn all job seekers not to join Firstbus Co as the Management is a real Mafia, where too many workers are fired with false accusations by pervert Managers who have been imposing their low wishes for years like dictators.

Hullbridge Bus driver well done

The Hullbridge bus is regular, punctual and this mornings driver named Gareth was the best one so far. He said a cheerful hello to EVERY passenger and I was on the bus all the way to Southend. Consistent with every customer and alot had smiles on their faces after talking to him. Praise where praise is due! Well done Gareth

Just don't use them!

Charlatans, cap off peak travel fees but if you embark a wrong bus they sting you for extra fees. How, seriously? Stick to what you advertise.

23 bus late again

23 bus late again, supposed to arrive at Purland Road stop at 07.32. Arrived at 07.45, another 23 bus passed us on the heartsease estate. Totally incompetent company, can Norwich council use a better bus company instead.

Fraud

Fraud. Don’t use their tap on tap off service. It double charged me for a fare due to the driver swapping buses mid journey and they won’t admit any fault. An hour on the phone and several emails later I still haven’t been refunded. They just keep asking for more card and bank details and for information I have already sent them. They have offered me a free ticket on a system I don’t use as a gesture of goodwill which is useless to me. If you use them be sure to check your bank transactions.

Very expensive tickets!

I am generally very pleased with the First Bus service around Gosport, Fareham and Portsmouth, however not on this occasion! I return to Gosport once a year and take a weekly bus and ferry ticket for my husband, son and I so we can get around over the 3/4 days we are visiting my Mum. On the 27/12/24 I purchased the 3 tickets on the bus by card - 2 transactions were declined. In the rush and confusion the driver asked me to pay the total in cash 103 GBP, which I did, only to find out later that the card transactions had gone through! First Bus refuse to reimburse me despite proof of purchse!!!
Paying twice made this a very expensive trip!

Extremely poor service

Extremely poor service. Avoid this company. The coach was 26 mins late. The customer service assistants are unhelpful and refused to provide a refund. They will justify the bad service. The company doesn't know anything about treating customers fairly. And definitely lacks a duty of care to customer. Wish I read the reviews before I purchased my ticket. Never again!!!!

Fat cats stealing fro. The poor

Terrible. 2024 and no tracking on buses. Waited 30 mins on a promise then started walking. Bus passed me at 50 mins after scheduled time. Why no tracking ???. How much profit do these guys make and how many villas and billion dollar Yacht’s do they buy at the expense and pain of bus users who have mobility and poverty issues. Get a grip at least for your return provide a traceable and effective service for the community who can plan if cancelled or delayed. While you bask in the sun and your wealth. You are Pathetic.

Never on time

Buses are either early so you miss them because you're assuming the time table is correct or so late you start tonhoneslry consider the £15 taxi faire worth it. Get the drivers to follow the time table! Also make the timetable correct the number of times the paper timetable has told something totally different to the machine saying what buses are due is ridiculous. Next time drivers go on strike coz they want a pay raise, tell em to do their job properly and maybe they'll get one.

Possibly one of the worst companies…

Possibly one of the worst companies ever to exist! I’m constantly waiting around for a bus - incapable of running on time. Tends to cancel buses regularly without any warning on their social media pages. The lack of response from the customer service team on Twitter is literally non existent. What the hell are they being paid for? Keep upping prices of tickets but cutting services and routes. Makes no sense! Drivers think it’s okay to stop at bus stops to have a cigarette or even going to the toilet behind bus stops then getting back on the bus to drive. Very unhygienic. I have honestly seen public transport function better in third world countries with more professionalism. I get the bus Monday-Friday twice a day, and I tend to have issues at least once a day with 3 different services.

First Bus App Hard to Use with Wrong Information

The website traveline.info showed 99 bus from Waterloo Road, Lowestoft, at 1744 on Saturday 28 September 2024 arriving at Suffolk Wildlife Park, Kessingland, at 1802.

At 1737, I went to the Waterloo Road bus stop. Even though it is very user unfriendly, the First Bus App on my smartphone showed the 99 bus arriving at 1744, then, closer to the time, ‘Due’. After 10 minutes, by 1754, it had not appeared. I paid £13.00 for a taxi instead.

This is very far from the only time I have seen ‘phantom buses’ on the First Bus App, that, like the 99 bus, then evaporate and never appear even 10 minutes after they are due. The 99 bus starts at Stand 7 at the Bus Station and makes 2 stops before Waterloo Road.

It must have been known, therefore, that the bus was cancelled before 1744. Why then was it shown as due? Had it been shown as cancelled, I would not have wasted 17 minutes outside waiting for this wraith of a bus not to appear. I could have ordered a taxi at 1738 and arrived on time for my event.

Two points:

1. Make the App customer-friendly and as easy to use as a Google search that sometimes produces quicker and better results.
2. Stop showing buses as ‘due’, when, 10 minutes after the due time, they have still not appeared and, so, make the App completely trustworthy.

Less busses equals more profits

Politicians like the mayor of west yorkshire like to brag about keeping bus travel affordable but fail to address the bus companies not adhering to their contract and bus schedules. This means that the public has nowhere to go to address transport needs. First make profit by dropping service frequency and the politicians have already reaped the good news story in the papers. #facelesssociety

Inhuman company

My ten-year-old son used to travel to the school by bus last school year. The company amended the bus timetable and cancelled one bus route: the only one bus that my son was able to get to the school with. However, the timetable information located in the physical bus stop is still the old one, so the company deceive the customers. I complained and emphasized that my son and a lot of other children this bus route the only option to get the school by bus but giving them a feedback was more important to them than solving the problem.
