Absolutely wonderful charity who clearly love the dogs in their care.
It was the second time i have adopted a dog from the dogs trust the first time about 11 years ago and when i sadly lost my dog through old age i went back to them this year and got my pup border collie, my experience, and i am sure others that have chosen to adopt this way, from the very beginning to the after care the team were fantastic, clearly loving the dogs in their care.
They provide so much info about the dogs when you visit to meet your chosen dog and are able to do this because of the one to one work they do with each dog in their care.
When you go to pick your dog up you are given a folder with lots of information which includes health check report, flea and worming treatment received and so much more and with enough food to get you started when you get home.
The follow up phone calls you receive to make sure things are going ok are great, they give you advice when needed.
I would highly recommend using the dogs trust and am so pleased with my experience.

My experience of DT is Not good. More interested in making money than helping the dogs they rehome. No support given once the dog is got fid of!

We can see that you have now left at least 4 previous reviews and on each occasion have been encouraged to get in touch via email at letusknow@dogstrust.org.uk so we can investigate any concerns you may have.
You also referenced previously that your reviews were in relation to how friends of yours have been treated. Once more we would ask they get in touch with us directly so we can look into and seek a resolution for any concerns they may have.
Sadly, leaving multiple 1-star reviews without providing us further information to allow us to investigate, which we are keen to do, does not give us anything we can seek to improve on if we have indeed failed at any step.
Our teams work tirelessly to ensure all adopters and dogs are supported before, during and after the adoption process and we are sorry to hear you do not feel this way.

Quick and clear adoption process
Quick and clear adoption process. Lots of information available for those adopting for the first time. Everything explained clearly regarding dogs history, the process and suitability. We now have a new member of the family, he is much loved already and we are loved back in bucketloads ❤️ We all couldn't be happier with our new dog as he is with us ☺️
It's amazing to have the Dogs Trust to care for and rehome unfortunate pups who haven't had much luck in their lives.

Perfect match
I really felt that the staff were prioritising the well-being of the dog; they had set criteria for his adoption that met his needs, and worked to make sure he got the right home, even though he had a lot of interest and could have been rehomed very quickly.

I strongly advise against volunteering…
I strongly advise against volunteering for the Cardiff Centre. However, I will always support dogs in need, including dogs there, as this is my local centre. My passion for dogs outweighs anything else, so I will always remain a visiting supporter there. My concern is the dogs always and am I open to being contacted to rebuild the relationships that broke down. With acceptable support from them, I would absolutely remove my reviews. I don’t hold grudges! All I can ask if that this is shown to the Cardiff Team and Volunteering. Dogs first always 🐶

We have just adopted our first puppy. The team were amazing start to finish and amazing to know we also can have ongoing support for as long as we have our new addition. Dog’s Trust Canterbury - exceptional experience
Dog’s Trust Canterbury have been amazing in making our road to adoption a smooth and supported one. They have spent time to get to know our family and their dogs and have matched us perfectly. Their aftercare and access to advice has been second to none and we were prepared and ready to begin our family journey with Edna as our newest member.
The dedicated team and great facilities show the care and attention they give to their dogs and the team spent time getting to know us to ensure a smooth adoption process. I cannot recommend the Dogs Trust enough.

We had the best experience with dogs…
We had the best experience with dogs trust Glasgow. Staff had a passion for the wellbeing and of the dogs in their care and prioritised securing them the best possible futures. We were matched to the love of our life, Ziggy. She has settled in so well and became a giant part of our family. We can’t thank dogs trust enough for setting us up with our beautiful big baby, would highly recommend to anyone looking to adopt a dog!
I would however go directly to staff in centres for 100% accurate information on potential dogs rather than relying on online descriptions or the booklets in centres, we found some of the information in various dogs descriptions wasn’t very accurate upon speaking to staff in centres. For example, Ziggy was listed in booklets as a 2 year old male but she’s a (now) 4 year old girl! 😂

Amazing Experience Bringing Our Poppy Home
We had such a wonderful experience with Dogs Trust Cardiff. From the very beginning, everyone was so kind, helpful and genuinely caring. They made the process of bringing Poppy home so easy and reassuring, and it’s clear how much love and effort they put into finding the right homes for the dogs in their care.

Alistair and Izzy from Dundee dogs trust
Alistair from dogs trust was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. You can see how passionate he is about his role and how much he cares for the animals. We are delighted to have Honey in our family and she will be well loved by us. Both Alistair and Izzy were readily available to help with any questions and always got back to us quickly. I would definitely recommend the dogs trust and the amazing work they carry out, and if we ever decide to add to our 4 legged family we would be checking their website out first and getting back in touch with Alistair and taking another drive to Dundee to see him.

The Dogs Trust Evesham were very welcoming helpful and informative on the care of our new adopted dog. We could visit as many times as we liked and were always greeted very well. A more enjoyable experience than in previous adoptions with other kennels.

A happy adoption centre
We visited the Cardiff centre for the first time and were welcomed with a sense of care, compassion and love. We were talked through the dogs background and neccesary information whilst walking around the open space and felt very comfortable asking questions. All staff were genuine lovers of dogs. It was wonderful to see that each dog had a kennel extremely well equipped and personalised for their needs and character! We visited again a few days later with our children and were greeted with the same passion from staff and our new adopted dog 'Barry'. He is exactly as described - very happy chap and goofball!
