I bought a pair of Converse from the official Converse online store, expecting decent quality from such a well-known brand. Unfortunately, the durability has been very disappointing.
After around 6 months of normal everyday use in a dry climate in Spain, the rubber on the sides started cracking, the sole wore down very quickly, and the rear All Star / Converse logo became significantly worn. The shoes were not used in extreme conditions — no snow, no road salt, no mud, and no sports use.
For comparison, I have a similar pair of Puma shoes that I have been wearing under the same conditions for almost two years. They have some minor heel wear, especially on the right shoe from driving, but the rubber has not cracked and the rear logo is still almost intact.
In my opinion, the issue is not authenticity — the shoes were purchased from the official store — but the poor quality and low durability of the materials. Converse has a strong brand image and a great history, but the actual product quality does not match the reputation.
I also contacted Converse customer service and sent them photos of the defects. At first, they offered a refund or compensation, but once I agreed to proceed with the refund, the process started dragging on.
Very disappointing experience overall. I expected much better from an official Converse product and from their customer support.

recently purchased a pair of the knee-high Converse for my birthday. They were customized. Cost me $135. The boots were received in a manner inconsistent with normal packaging for this style. There were deep wrinkles present upon arrival and resulted from improper packaging during shipment, not customer use. They stuffed the shoes in a small basic cardboard box, not the box they usually come in. I have 2 other pairs (not custom) and those arrived in a Converse box that was bigger to properly hold the boots. These shoes arrived extremely wrinkled because the warehouse forced them into a standard small blank box instead of the correct, extended knee-high packaging. Folding the long canvas shafts has permanently warped the shape. This is a shipping and fulfillment error on Converse's end, not a normal cosmetic wear issue.
I filed a claim due to the wrinkles. They denied the claim because they were customized. Fair warning, don't order custom because if anything happens to them Converse will not rectify it. Very disappointing!

Converse does not fulfill orders and does not care
I ordered a pair of custom Converse shoes for $125.21 and never received the merchandise I paid for.
The package was delivered by UPS, but it arrived visibly damaged/tampered with and the contents were missing. The shipment was sent using Converse’s shoebox-as-shipping-box packaging, meaning the product packaging itself served as the outer shipping container. I immediately documented the condition of the package with photographs, reported the issue to Converse, and filed a UPS damage claim.
UPS completed its investigation and advised me to contact the shipper, Converse, for further information. Despite this, Converse repeatedly relied on the fact that the package showed as “delivered” rather than addressing the actual issue: the package arrived damaged and the shoes were not inside.
The most frustrating part has been the customer service process. I provided photographs, claim information, tracking records, and supporting documentation. At one point Converse closed my case claiming additional information was needed, despite never contacting me to identify what information was missing or requesting any additional documentation. I later had to reopen the case myself.
My concern has never been whether a box was delivered. My concern is that I paid for custom shoes that were not in the package when it arrived.
The most disappointing part has not been the missing merchandise but the handling of the claim. Rather than investigating the evidence provided, Converse has repeatedly defaulted to “tracking shows delivered” while failing to address the damaged package, missing contents, and completed UPS investigation.
Based on my experience, customer support has been unwilling to meaningfully review claims involving missing merchandise. I am still seeking either a replacement of the custom shoes or a refund.
Advised to request my refund through PayPal myself
I returned a pair of Converse on 7th May 26 that didn't suit me. I used their returns portal and shipping label. I received a confirmation email that they had received my return but then I heard nothing, no refund or further contact. I gave them until 26 May then chased them up. The phone number on their returns website was disconnected so I called their main number and an advisor told me exactly what I already knew. She then said to give it another week and if my refund hasn't been actioned to raise a refund request through PayPal myself! I've just had to do that today (PayPal were fantastic) but what awful service. I ordered and returned Converse years ago without issue but things have clearly changed and I'll never order from the Converse website again.

I ordered two pairs of Converse platform shoes plus socks from Converse.com and only received one pair of shoes in the delivered package.
I contacted customer service multiple times to explain that this was NOT a missing package claim, the package itself arrived, but the shipment contents were incomplete and one pair of shoes was missing from inside the box.
Unfortunately, support repeatedly treated the issue as a UPS delivery dispute simply because the tracking showed “delivered,” despite me clearly explaining that the box arrived incomplete. I provided consistent details, photos, and attempted to resolve the matter politely through both email and live chat.
Instead of resolving the missing item issue, I was told the shipment was “not eligible for a claim” and was even offered a discount code to repurchase the same missing shoes.
Very disappointing experience and extremely frustrating customer service process for an incomplete order issue. I have been overba decade long customer. I will never buy another pair of converse again and let others know about the experience converse has given me. They stole money from me.

Ho ordinato un paio di scarpe aventi la suola in gomma beige con la tomaia che si scolla, si evince che manca la colla per un difetto di produzione. Sono in contatto con il servizio clienti che mi dice che bastano le foto che gli ho mandato e ci vogliono 5 giorni lavorativi. Dopo 5 giorni lavorativi mi comunicano che gli servono altre foto. Per il servizio ricevuto dal servizio clienti ad ora si meritano una stella. E niente servizio clienti che dice una cosa per volta tipo miva lanciami i componenti, persi 3 o 4 giorni per lassismo in comunicazione. Una stella è anche troppo.

Online besteld en direct betaald via iDeal/Wero. Ik krijg geen verzendbevestiging of track&trace nummer, wat al riekt naar oplichting. Inmiddels zijn we meer dan 48 uur verder en nog steeds niet gehoord. Dus ik heb geprobeerd de klantenservice te bellen, maar het Nederlandse telefoonnummer is niet bereikbaar. En dat terwijl de prijs van de schoenen niet lager is dan bij de retailer. Lekker graaien voor Converse dus, ten koste van de consument. Nu ben ik langs gegaan bij het pakketpunt maar ook daar is het pakket niet te vinden. Tot overmaat van ramp staat het adres van het pakketpunt op het label en niet mijn adres, waardoor ze er daar (in slecht Nederlands...) ook maar weinig mee konden. Kortom, de laatste keer dat ik hier heb besteld.

Converse shoes are the best. I mean I have this nostalgic feeling whenever I wear a converse. Somehow it connects me to those rock and roll times.
The fit is good. The feel is good. Just amazing shoes to have a part of your wardrobe.

Between plummeting product quality and poor customer service setup, my days of buying Converse are done.
The problem started when my custom converse - which looked ok except for sloppy glue work along the toes - started falling apart just a few months after getting them and with pretty minimal wear.
So, they issued a credit. Fine. Whatever.
Placed an order but had to return shoes that didn't fit so my credit was re-issued.
But they are unusable online as it needs to be a gift card with PIN to use. Which these don't have.
Cue contacting customer service. A term that should be used lightly. After over an hour, I get one of the credits re-issued as a gift card via email. The other does not come through.
Now they say I need to wait 24-48 hours for them to send a "test email". It's 2026, emails take mere seconds.
So I've already wasted nearly 2 hours of my time dealing with this and now I'm expected to waste more? They're probably hoping people like me just give up and don't use the credit so they keep the money.
Both the quality of the product and whatever nonsense SAAS they use for "customer service" are basically trash now.
