I have dealt with Computershare 3 times. Once to change my name in my account, 2nd to sell those shares and thirdly to sell share for a deceased estate.
At no time were they easy to deal with, sympathetic or compassionate.
Every conversation I had with someone anytime had misinformation.
Even when I went to see someone in the Brisbane office, which has restricted hours and an unannounced "BELL", I was told that they would contact the team directly regarding my situation. I explained to this person that I couldn't wait another three weeks for snail mail or any other red tape, as my last application of sale, had misinformation about what forms I needed. Then, I didn't get any update unless I asked. The updates were vague, when I asked for more information I got nothing.
I hate this company and I hope I never have anything to do with them again or their staff. Or I get a job with them and get to treat people like shit!

Absolutely cr*p. this company feels like a company on earlier 80s. Their tech is archaic, their processes are horrible. I spent months trying to convert the dividends of my shares into cash (sent to my bank account). without success. I competed their mandate form (yes, a form that is providing an order), sent to them via slowmail (not possible to send something via email). waited for a response for a really long time until I received another set of dividends re-invested in stocks. I called them and to my surprise they told me they had my form but the form came without a letter requesting the change. What kind of company is that? I then sent a letter asking them to obey my mandate form and they classified my letter as a complaint and never responded back. These guys are horrible - make sure you ask your fund/ VCT manager if they are the custodians and if they are simply don't invest. Why regulators don't look into this?!

If there were NO STARS, I would give them that. I simply logged on to change my bank information and to sell some shares. After attempting to change my account information ( same bank different acct #) , I was sent a letter stating that I could not because my Huntington acct address was my physical address and Computershare has my PO Box. I have called and been shuffled around and placed on hold. Then Later I was UNABLE TO log into my account anymore, so I called again and was told there were stops on my acct and I needed to write them a letter, get the letter notarized and mail it in. The letter requested that ALL Stops be lifted. I SENT 2 NOTARIZED LETTERS JUST IN CASE ONE DID NOT MAKE IT. These letters were mailed on June25th. They claim they have not received the letters and that there are stops on my acct. A few days later, I did get a callback, and somehow the stops on my Coca-Cola acct were lifted, and I was able to sell. I still have Stock in 2 other companies that I want to sell now just because I never want to deal with this company again. I also have stock in Fidelity (logged on, changed my banking information and did a transfer within 24hours). I ask why, in this day and time am I writing a notarized letter???? I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. The sad part is even after I explained the urgency of my need for the money, they didn't care.....I have had stock with Computershare since 1997 and that holds absolutely no weight. NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER INVEST WITH THIS COMPANY.

Their systems are poor, their customer service is poor, there's literally nothing to recommend them. I've had two run-ins with computershare - the first trying to deal with a deceased estate and most recently trying to consolidate holdings under my account when one had my middle name on it, and the other didn't. Given all my other personal information matched, one would think this wouldn't be hard. Nope, it's a disaster for them and, best of all, I've now been told different things by different customer service staff and my issue still isn't resolved. I'd genuinely rate them zero stars if I could. I genuinely don't understand why any corporates use them over their competitors.

Computershare's system is so bad it doesn't correctly provide accurate information about share dividend payment activity. They also have no idea as to when dividends that have gone to a closed bank account will be paid to me. Just total incompetence. To make things worse I now have another person's (unknown to me) shares appearing in my dashboard of what I own. How does that happen. No accountability and difficult to get them to fix anything.

Everything went wrong. Dropped after waiting on hold for 15 minutes, incomprehensible website and forms, etc. Everything everyone else says.

This feels like the most antiquated system in the world, with various physical forms to fill in. I am beyond confused why this would be the process in 2026. Seriously. It will take weeks to sell my shares and receive the funds... not so dynamic ;)

The new website/portal is simply inefficient and appears to be developed without user-experience knowledge. Documents cannot be downloaded in bulk easily, as have to do 1 by 1. The name of the document (when saving) does not come up and have to type in a name, which all makes is very time consuming. Documents are only stored for 3 years and rest are not available (was not informed before docs were removed!). Link Share Registry is significantly more user-friendly.

Disgusting company that makes a living treating like Indians like crap for the benefit of the publicly tested companies that hire them. Any company that uses Computershare, I would not work for. Tells the story of how the company you decide to work for cares. Deplorably.

If there was a way to rate 0 I would!! BEWARE!!

My partner owned employee shares from a company that he worked for years ago that he forgot about until we got a statement in the mail.

The letter said that they were no longer representing the company and we could either sell, or transfer the shares or they would be liquidated if there was no response.

They list phone numbers to call, but it took forever to get ahold of someone and then once I did it was all bad news.

Not only did I find out that Computershare was charging a "maintenance fee" of over $40/year to just HOLD the stocks, but there are records of fee after fee that slowly dwindled the stock he EARNED down to almost nothing.

With the shares that didn't get eaten up by the fees, we had to either sell or transfer the stocks and EVERY single option came with additional fees!! There was NO way to move or sell the shares without paying them more!

I actually had to pull out a credit card to pay them to convert the shares to common stock before they could be transferred which was slightly less than the $50 fee it would have cost to sell the stocks... AND because there were fractional shares involved and Computershare says they can't transfer fractional shares, we actually had to forfeit them. This is highway robbery and I am absolutely disgusted that a company is allowed to STEAL the shares with their outrageous fees.

I've been with Fidelity for years and have been extremely satisfied, so this is not an "industry" or an "ignorance" thing.

If your employer goes through Computershare... watch your statements for all the fees and then RUN as fast as you can at your first opportunity.

Need to transfer shares to broker not in the system, submitted data of the broker, everything went fine and then CRS and FATCA issue, contacting chat, they gave me number in US, call for 13 minutes (3 minutes not helpful voicebot) with result they are not able to help me and gave me another US number, then 21 minutes (3 minutes voicebot again) with a result dedicated team is on another US number, spent 5 minutes with the automat and when someone picked up, hung up immediately, second call same issue, wrote to chat, got another US number, spent 5 minutes with the automat machine and same hung up with no word. a lot of fun for 18 USD fees... horrible company

Shockingly bad. Bottom feeders who main activity seems to be devising ways to disrupt customers and prevent them from accessing their accounts.

Every time I would call in to do a deceased transfer, the rep on the phone would tell me I need to send in the transfer packet. I had...And the letter of testamentary and the death certificate. It's like they didn't have the capability to see, or didn't care to take the time to see, that it had already been done. Then your packet would sit at book entry indefinitely waiting to be processed....Or they would tell you to send in the paper stock certificate after it had clearly been converted to digital. Dont ever buy individual stocks as it's a nightmare to get it transferred over or sold. Stick with mutual funds from a reputable company where you can get online and handle your own business....Also, many of Computershare 's reps did not speak good English or their accent made it difficult to conduct a transaction.....Sally L Edmonson

A big big shout out to Mr Akojee for unparalleled customer service...your company should let you run classes in Customer service...I am very grateful for your prompt and mo nonsense approach to dealing with queries...No fill out this form, send this document and acknowledgement of email and someone will respond etc etc.And he is a great advocate for donations to Charity shares...we need more like him in this industry.

They are the worse for elderly accounts. They will not help a family member help out . Let me explain- my Mother owns 100 shares of Principal Financial Group. Potemkin wanted to buy the shares at 51+dollars. My mom is 92 and wants to fix her privacy fence and wanted that money. We went to the bank and notarized the Medallion signature Guarantee form on March 18th. We heard nothing no check for the 51.00 per share.I look for the statement that came with her dividend pay and found the checks came from Computershare. I got online and access the account. I had to wait to receive a code in the mail over a week to get into the account. The code was sent to address of record confirming the account. I called to find out what happened.This where they would not help- they just acted like I was a criminal. My Mom talked to them to give permission for me to talk to them for her. Here comes the stupidity of this company. They want exactly the name and address that was used when she signed up for the health insurance policy that gave her the shares. My Mom is 92 and I know she has been receiving the dividends for over 10 years. She gave them the name on the account and the address that was on the account now but it was not good enough. They wouldn’t talk with me and locked me out of the account. I asked what I can do to confirm the account. I was told to send a notarized letter that releases any restrictions and asked to have the share sold . They received the 2nd notarized letter on April 27 and on April 28th they transferred the shares to Potemkin holding company. New York depositary should have sent a check within 7 days of receiving the transfer. Never happened. We will be satisfied with the original amount of the offer but if these companies think I will give up. They do not know me. I have filed complaints with with Sec.gov against each company and Attorney General of the State of Ohio. Someone will hear the hell these companies are putting my 92 year old mother. They need to be held accountable and if I have to hire an attorney- it will for the value of stock today which is 110.00 a share.

The experience was so bad, I asked if they were a fraudulent company and threatened to call the police. I was just trying to change an address. They are so bad, I will be canceling accounts with any financial institution that is even in association with them. If you're forced to deal with this company, I genuinely feel for you. Hang in there. They are quite possibly the worst company I've ever dealt with. And I've had to deal with AT&T and Bank of America. If that tells you anything.
