I have been trying to get into my Computershare account since July, it is now October 1. Everything with this organization is awful. We had to transfer shares from one account to a new one, and were not sent an access code. Have been trying for 12 weeks to get access to the online platform. Long phone wait times, unhelpful automated phone menu loops, and I've repeated my issue to numerous reps. One suggested I needed to call Canada and gave me the number I called, then gave me another number ot get rid of me, it was the number for Motorola Solutions. I asked if they could email me a copy of my current statement, they said it had to go in the mail, can't email it. Nor can they email you an access code. Unbelievably ineffecient.

I contacted Computershare Canada about an account issue. I first tried the live chat, only to be told to call them, so the chat was essentially useless.
I then spent a very long time on an international call from Japan, at considerable cost. After going through a lengthy automated menu and entering my account details, I was asked for the same information again by the live agent. What was the point of the automated system?
Throughout the call, I was repeatedly put on hold. After about 24 minutes, I was told to hold again. I politely asked how much longer it would take because I was paying expensive international call charges. I was told 2–3 minutes. I was then left waiting for more than 20 minutes.
This was an unnecessarily stressful and time-consuming experience. If customers are going to be kept on hold for 20+ minutes, they should at least be given an honest estimate. I should not have to spend so much money and time simply trying to speak to someone about my own account.
Very poor customer service and a very frustrating telephone support process.

ComputerShare is one of the worst share registries in the world. I genuinely can’t understand why companies choose to use ComputerShare for their share registry.

After my experience, I’ll be avoiding ASX-listed companies that use ComputerShare as their share registry.

With the difficulty of accessing and getting funds back it's pretty much a scam. Avoid.

They won't answer their phones. I've tried for days

What was left of my mother's investments after she passed. They kept. After going through the process all the paperwork and expense twice. They refused to release her funds twice. Death certificate, probate paperwork, Will and last testament, special 50 dollar signed stamped certified. Proof of my identity. Notary republic. Twice I did all they asked and they refused to release moms stock. I COULDN'T TAKE ANY MORE. I gave up. Year later they still send a little dividend check in my mom's name. Just to hurt me. I pile them up and burn them. If they need it that bad I guess they can keep it. I pray if you invest with computershare. That you live a long life. And that your children never need to handle your affairs. These people don't care.

I going to give them a 1 star just for the scammy way they have inplemented tax statements. you either have to download from a email link one statement at a time or you have to pay $57 for a report. Its similar to the way that they manage their entire business. Minimum effort, old systems, no thought the the end user and the scheme to charge to anything they think they can. Just because investors generally dont chose your service, the companies do, does not mean you have to be this poor.

Computershare is HORRIBLE! Make sure you don't ever have an emergency that requires you to access your money quickly. They will hold your money hostage while you are instructed to jump through flaming hoops to gain access to it. Be prepared to wait for weeks, spend a ton of money on overnight mailings, and get conflicting information for the inhuman idiots that answer the phone. They deserve ZERO stars, and struggle every day to provide a barely mediocre level of service.

Very few issues at all with the service - I can easily go in and check the status of my portfolio. They have just enabled MFA and I was struggling with the EquateAccess app as it was giving an error. Phoned the helpline and got through to talk to someone UK based within a few minutes. He was really helpful and had it sorted in about 5 minutes. Great service.

Computershare decided to transfer my shares, which I PHYSICALLY HOLD, to the State of Delaware because I had not logged into my account or contacted them for a while. Apparently, this is what you need to do so they don't assume the account is dormant.

I had set up dividend reinvestment and assumed that, since the dividends were being added to my account as late as January 2026, the account was active.

Computershare did send a letter, and on my part I should have followed up; however, I do think Computershare should have sent out a reminder, as other companies do when it is financially related.

I have now been dealing with the State of Delaware trying to get my funds since April 2026!

Again, I physically have the Walt Disney shares in my possession. The dividends were being automatically reinvested into my account. This is ridiculous and a reminder to everyone who holds shares, physically or not, to make sure to randomly sign in to your account or contact them; otherwise, you will lose all your shares!

Horrible AI phone agent. Doesn't understand simple requests and keeps asking questions unrelated to the issue you are calling about. When you finally get a live agent they are obviously reading from a script and are not much help. I am the executor of my Mom's estate and it has been incredibly difficult to work thru the process. I finally had to hire a lawyer to help. After sending a complete package to Computershare by overnight mail they can't even tell me it's received after two days! Computershare doesn't even deserve the one star rating.

Do not under any circumstance use computer share. Incompetent, slow to respond, like dealing with a company from 1920.

Tried to move shares to another brokerage. There's a button on the website to do that. It doesn't work. Customer service won't help. Says it needs to be done via US mail and it'll take 7-10 business days to send out paperwork.

Absolute garbage

This company is horrible. Getting paper certificates switched to digital was incredibly difficult because they didn't send the necessary forms and kept insisting the problem was on our end. (Their statements and other correspondence arrived, as did all our other mail.) After requesting the forms multiple times, I finally had to pay to have them sent by courier. Then our change in beneficiary form wasn't processed when it was received by them. By the time our father passed a month later, they then told us that the beneficiaries had been "changed" after he passed so our forms were rejected and now a whole new set of forms was required. It's as if they don't want to have to deal with customers and so they just throw up roadblocks to avoid any work. I will NEVER do business with this company again. Oh, and CS is completely useless. As others have said, it's like they have no record keeping whatsoever. You have to start the conversation from the start each time you call.

Absolute rubbish! I attempted to log in with what I know was my correct password (I had it written down in coded form) and it rejected the password.
I reset the password, got through to putting in the verification code from my phone then had a message that "login had timed out".
AstraZeneca should be ashamed of transferring their shares admin. to such a bunch of clowns as Computershare.

Computershare is an incompetent, outdated nightmare that holds your assets hostage behind non-existent customer support, absurd physical paperwork delays, endless hidden fees, and broken technical systems. Avoid them at all costs
