Compass Fostering Omdömen 

Compass are everything we needed. Helpful, supportive, thorough in working through assessment, freely available for anything. Plenty of training and face to face and virtual meet ups with other carers, both new to it and experienced.

Compass is very understanding with the doubts and worries of the future foster carers. I felt I had the freedom to ask and to express myself.

Very supportive agency helped all the way through the process now awaiting children for placement :-)

Treated disgracefully by this company, Wasted my time and government money assessing me, sent someone who didn’t know that cats purr and thought my cat was ill cause it was making a strange noise, thought my child was crying when she had her head down watching her ipad, came to my house several times, insisted on weekends and bank holiday monday, probably being paid double or more. Spoke to my autistic daughter who lives with me several times but compass claimed they didn’t know she lived with me! Then after months of wasting my time and the day after I passed my medical, they abruptly ended my assessment and would not tell me why, I passed everything and had nothing on my DBS, have an unrelated child in my care who I saved from abuse, and went through the same process to get her, yet I’m apparently not suitable…..but cannot tell me why? Even said why didn’t I try another foster company 😳 avoid, red flags all the way!

Very we’ll organised, friendly staff, trainings have been very informative and we feel we have 24 hour support, would totally recommend

From the start of my application I feel that all the staff are well knowledged. Everyone I have had to deal with so far along this journey have been very helpful. I feel that with Compass I will have all the support and help when I need it.

I have found Compass very good right from myself and my husband making the initial phone call

After going through an awful lot, including medicals and meetings. Making changes to our familys routine ready to welcome,love and support any child we were lucky to care for and a panel date being set. We were then told we couldn't continue to due to our spare room possibly being needed in the future by one of our children (not the case) a mistake on their part that they over looked. I was heart broken and my children too. It's such a Shame that people can be put through all this and left heart broken because someone can't do their job properly. There was no discussions we were just cut off. There are so many children in need of a caring, loving and stable family life that we are desperate to offer that will go without and compass weren't bothered in making it work.

None of your reviews talk about their actual fostering experiences with your company so having filled in an application form it is tricky to assess your company compared with others!! I did receive a call from your company today but your company spokesperson sounded as if she was sitting in a call centre which I did find a little off putting?! I will however press on unless I have reason not to?!

Great company, child orientated with attention to detail and focus on welfare.

I was made to feel at ease from day one and worked with a lovely social worker. All staff were friendly and very professional. The three day training course was outstanding and very enjoyable.

We found the processes really helped us to understand our own life experiences and how we can use them to help others

Made contact as interested in fostering. Had an initial visit and my details were taken to assess next stage. I never heard another word. I tried several times to contact the office not no one returned my calls. I'm really not sure this organisation legitimate. Disgraceful service considering people genuinely want to help support young people. I wouldn't recommend Compass Fostering.

I applied to be a foster carer through Compass, the whole application was thorough and emotional in parts, i have now been approved, it has been a pleasure going through this process with them. I would recommend them to anyone who is starting their fostering journey.

Very poor experience.

My wife and I spent months jumping through hoops for these people but were concerned throughout with regards to their general lack of experience and professionalism.

The fact our assigned social worker had no experience with either fostering or children; and had spent most of the application process absent from work on sick leave was a huge red flag.

We were without explanation, contact, questions, 'ghosted' by this agency, no email, no letter, nothing.

When pressed they eventually provided a ridiculously cursory excuse, via email, with no feedback what so ever and no interpersonal contact, as to the fact they had rejected our application because I was apparently apprehensive about the process.

If this is how they treat human adults then I dread to think how little consideration is taken over actual helpless children.

It's absolutely no wonder there is a shortage of foster carers when one agency controls it all. One agency with one interest, money.

The process takes many months and is extremely thorough, as it should be. Our SW that assessed us was amazing and so supportive. We really enjoyed the experience. We now are putting all that we learnt into practice.

The process takes several months, as it would with any agency and could be considered quite intrusive, but again, it is to be expected with such a process.
We found that Compass were very supportive and helpful throughout the whole process, will answer any questions, and advise wherever needed to make the process as easy as possible

A long process and very thorough but, it has to be. On the whole it was good and now I'm looking after a great little guy.

We’re just starting out on our fostering career as newly approved carers and both very excited. So far Compass have been fantastic and everyone is so friendly and helpful. We get a really good feeling about the support given to carers and all the training available. We can’t wait to start our journey with our new Compass family!

All the staff at Compass made it an enjoyable process, obviously it did feel a little intrusive at times, but that’s to be expected. We would recommend anyone wishing to foster to choose Compass.
