Well organised day, from Afternoon tea to start with all the lovely rooms to visit and then finished with an amazing treatment massage/facial from Homesha the best massage I have had, she totally worked her. magic hands and released all the tension in my shoulders.

Drove over an hour for a spa day with my husband. When we arrived they told us they could not carry out our 90 minute treatment due to 'staff sickness'. This was really disappointing after travelling all this way. We were told we have to email to receive a refund - DON'T leave until you have your refund! They just ignore emails. This was 11/04/25 and we are still waiting (14/08/25).
Or better still, just avoid this place!
In my opinion, they book way too many people in per day, and just want money, rather than people having a relaxing experience.

Just been to the spa and was sat having a chat with the owner and what a great guy, he really does have the best interest for the people who are not just on a spa day but for his members as well 👏🏼👏🏼 can’t wait to go back

Shocking place. I have previously had some great experiences, but yesterday they called to say they couldn’t fulfil our booking due to staff sickness. It was too late as I was already travelling to the spa. We had a reduced therapy session, which was awful. The therapist told us she wants to leave and spent all the 40 minutes talking. The facial consisted of dabbing a bit of cream and putting a hot cloth on my face! Awful experience. Then to top if all they are fully booked until March 2026 and I cannot book the 6 vouchers I have outstanding. Shocking, they were keen to take my money and won’t allow me to book. The case is currently with my credit card company, they are going to take them on, this place is filthy, steam rooms out of action, staff rude and can’t be bothered and you can’t book. Avoid at all costs. The place is going to the dogs.

I have been to the spa on several occasions and always have a good time. My issues is not with the facilities but with the administration. I purchased a voucher for £86 for my daughter’s 21st. This was taken out of my bank twice. Over the last 4 months I have sent multiple emails and had little response. I’ve called the Spa and there is not telephone number for their management team and to send an email email. I explained I’ve been doing this and they said they would pass the message on to their management team but I’ve heard nothing back. I have even asked for a second voucher instead of a refund but still no reply.

I am going to contact citizens advice to see if they can advise me what to do next.

The package we had was fabulous value fir money with afternoon tea, 90 minute massage and facial and use of saunas steamrooms and pools. Relaxing atmosphere. Throughly enjoyable day.

I had a very disappointing experience at Clifford Health & Spa. Shortly after entering the pool, both my friend and I had immediate adverse reactions – she suffered from eye irritation and I started coughing. On top of that, my bikini was completely discoloured by the pool water. I reported this to the staff, but only received vague answers about “usual chemicals,” and the pool was closed shortly after. Health issues were also reported on BBC News Online by other people.

My friend is undergoing chemotherapy, so this was especially worrying for us both. Since then, I’ve been left with a voucher worth £99, which I don’t feel safe using. I asked several times about the complaints procedure, and all I was told was to “send an email to customer service.” Despite sending multiple emails, including one directly to sales@, I’ve had no reply. Reception says they can’t help.

I’ve never written a negative review before. I’m a patient and understanding person, but I now feel helpless and ignored. I don’t understand how a company can treat its customers like this.

At this point, I'll contact Citizens Advice, Trading Standards, or consider the small claims court route.

I cannot recommend using this company until they address these issues properly.

Had a fab day with friends, treatments were amazing

I’m a paying member one year membership but when it’s finished I won’t be rejoining. The gyms and spa itself is okay all be it quite dirty and busy. But it’s the management which does it for me. There’s know memberships courtesy, no respect and no gym community it’s literally take take take your money. For example I forgot my entrance fob once and they could quite easily type my name in and see I’m a member like most places would do as a one off but instead they use it to take more money from you by charging you £10 to use a spare. Like come on I come every day! And another thing is every single time I enter the staff ask me to sign up for life time membership it’s constant and very annoying as well as daily texts and emails too . Honestly if there was some basic courtesy I would join up again but because of the managements money grabbing attitude I will go to a better gym that value customers.

Booked spa day 6 month in advance and paid £99 for this. Was informed 1 hour before scheduled time that they were unable to accommodate us due to staff sickness. I requested a refund which they agreed and I’m still waiting. My calls are being ignored, my emails are also being ignored, they have blocked me on social media. This company is honestly a joke. I would avoid

I’m really disappointed with how we’ve been treated. I was overcharged for a spa package that was clearly advertised at a lower price, and despite sending screenshots and asking multiple times for the recorded phone call. I’ve received no response at all. We were even considering joining their membership, but after being ignored and dismissed like this, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s unprofessional, disrespectful, and honestly upsetting — especially when all we asked for was a fair resolution.

We used to love coming here for monthly spa days and often bought new packages after each visit. Unfortunately, things have changed.

There’s now no available friday for the next 8 months, which makes it nearly impossible to plan ahead. On top of that, We were asked to pay penalty fee for trying to reschedule 44 hours before our appointment — just 4 hours short of the 48-hour window. That level of inflexibility is really disappointing.

We had great experiences in the past, but this recent shift has been frustrating.

Do not use waiting on a refund from april as they cut our treatment by half due to staffing shortages.

Paid extra to extend a treatment for a family member, which was never added to the booking. Also told by the beautician my treatment was 40 minutes, when it was advertised as 50. I have been chasing a refund for this missing time since March…
Edit 22nd August: Still waiting for the refund. When I call I get referred to an email address that hasn’t replied since May.

Really difficult to book experience at all prior to my trip in April. I have tried to raise this with the spa since April. It is impossible to get in touch with the customer service team.

The place is superb. After reading reviews was anxious for my upcoming booking and on arrival the exterior was not how I imagined a spa to look but once inside the staff were fantastic the place was so clean and the facilities are amazing.

I had a massage with Elizabeth and she was fab I left feeling like a new woman.

Didn’t really enjoy the afternoon tea the sandwiches were caked in butter and the cakes were basic but didn’t ruin my day would prob just skip this part next time.

Highly recommend.

I paid for the diamond membership upgrade for the free massages and found out there's no available spots in the next 3 months to schedule a massage. I want my money back. Tried to talk to people on site, emailed customer service and sent a message on your website and have been ignored in all of those for weeks now! Please give me my money back or give me the service I paid for!

Bought a voucher but realised I'd forgotten to use a discount, emailed 2 mins later to ask for it to be refunded. This started a month long wait as emails were ignored and then the WhatsApp team appear to have no contact with the actual customer service team (if there is one!). Eventually I sent an official complaint which was again ignored. I enquired about their complaints policy but was ignored - there appears not to be one. Another month later they have still ignored the complaint about the customer service and only stated they don't refund vouchers- this feels harsh but fair enough if it's their policy but what I have to warn people against is the shocking customer service and ignoring of complaints regarding it.

After always having good spa days previously , to the extent we were looking into a membership despite the distance. I took my daughter to celebrate her 16th birthday, after paying hundreds of pounds, My 2 treatments were appalling. The therapist was on her phone, not focusing on my treatment and it was the worst experience ever. I left feeling frustrated and certainly not relaxed. I complained and was offered a poultry £15 off treatments as a goodwill gesture. Disappointed and disgusted, do not recommend sadly.
