AVOID AT ALL COSTS – They ignore Financial Ombudsman rulings and hold credit files hostage.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Please read this before financing a vehicle with CA Auto Finance.
I was sold a fundamentally faulty and dangerous Land Rover Discovery (the engine cut out at motorway speeds). When I rightfully tried to reject the unroadworthy vehicle after 3 days of ownership, CA Auto Finance fought me every step of the way. I had to take the case to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and have an engineer inspect the vehicle, it took over 12 months of paying £619 a month for a car I couldn't use, the ombudsman fully upheld my complaint in April 2026. The Ombudsman legally ordered CA Auto Finance to terminate the agreement, collect the vehicle, and refund my payments.
Even after losing a binding legal decision, the nightmare continues to this day. While they eventually collected the car and paid the settlement, they blatantly refused to comply with the rest of the order. They have left a balance of over £30,000 sitting on my credit file for months, severely impacting my credit rating. When challenged, their customer service team told me they wouldn't remove it until the supplying garage paid them back—completely ignoring the fact that their commercial disputes have nothing to do with my consumer rights.
To make matters even worse, months after the Ombudsman legally terminated the agreement, their collections department had the audacity to send me a "Notice of Sums in Arrears" demanding over £1,200 for a cancelled contract!
This company has zero respect for consumer rights, basic safety, or even legally binding regulatory orders. You will have to fight them tooth and nail for months to get what you are legally owed. Save yourself the immense stress and finance your car anywhere else.
