I got an email from Resolver (they are next on list for a bad review) telling me about a claim for data misuse by Google and Microsoft.
Why I even wasted time looking at it is a mystery.
Anyway had a look at it and filled in the form. Within minutes I was bombarded with 6 emails from Barings law. And I realised that if I didn't "cooperate" and probably filled in more forms and answered more questions I would be charged a fee. This I did not see anywhere before I filled in the form.
But I also saw that there was a 14 days cooling off period, so, I thought Ok, no problem.
I tried the web chat (20 hours ago, still no reply) I emailed them 3 times attaching the request to cancel form found on their website, No rply to these emails. I called them this morning at 11.44, talked to some guy who said my claim had not been cancelled but that he would do it straight away and send me a confirmation email. I am still waiting.
Then I got an email updating me on my claim at 2.43pm . I tried to call, the phone number is unavailable! tried the web chat . That does not work either. why on earth does Resolver get involved with these cowboys?
Please do not tell me to call 0161 200 9960 . I have tried and the number is "unavailable right now" and so is the Webchat.
Perhaps I should follow Robert West's example and start charging you £50 for each next email I sent you .And of course the ombudsman and a nice complaint to The Solicitors Regulation Authority .
Why have you not got a section for mis-sold legal advice?

After submitting all available documentation, with full explanation as to why age restricted documentation is not available, complaining by phone and email about continuing requests for 'outstanding' information, the emails persist. This company clearly does not take complaints seriously , read or take action when they are made. Bear this in mind before engaging with them.

I'm sure everyone has noticed but all the so called 5* reviews have no substance to them and are just glib comments. The genuine 1* reviews however give actual case and situation examples which mean something.
I expect them to try and take this review down as defamatory but trustpilot should take some ownership and see this for what it is.

barings law have taken money from a Carphone warehouse claim for me and will not pass the money on, they will not email back.
after numerous phone calls they will not get in touch

I’ve been very disappointed with my experience with Barings Law. From my perspective, almost all of the work on my case has been carried out by me, not them.

I have personally handled correspondence with the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), gathered and submitted evidence, obtained supporting documents from other affected clients and professionals, and directly challenged the FOS’s findings (which I believe are flawed). Despite this, I’ve seen no evidence that Barings Law has taken any meaningful action to progress or escalate my case.

I’ve asked for clarification on what role they are actually playing and what value they are adding, but so far I’m still waiting for a clear answer. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend their services.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently submitted a 1 star review for the above company. They complained to Trustpilot that it contained defamatory content, and wanted my review taken down. Trustpilot decided that there was no defamatory content in the review, and let it stand as written.
I can only assume that the content that they referred to, was my decision to show their fees in an easily understandable way. Barings Law do show their fees, however they are tucked away in their Terms and Conditions, and could easily be missed.
I emailed the company and asked for an apology for accusing me of writing a defamatory review. I also told them that I would be charging them £50.00 for each email I composed. I did not receive a reply. A few days later I sent another email, asking for a reply, and
charging them another £50.00 for that email. I did not receive a reply. I thought £50.00 per email was a fair charge, using their own fees as a template.
The bottom line is that this company treated me in an appalling way, and the same thing could happen to any customer of theirs.
I did advise them that I would be updating my review, and also contacting the press, ie: BBC Watchdog programme, and also contacting the Financial Ombudsman to show how their company operates. That is now a work in progress.
As I stated in my original review, by all means use this company, but be aware of how they might treat you.

Whilst I appreciate your reply, I note that you have not dealt with all of my questions. As a law firm I would have thought that was a prerequisite of your firms responsibility to clients.
You do not state as to why your firm ignored my two emails, and have not dealt with my request for £100.00 for the two emails that I sent you.
I therefore look forward to all of my questions being answered as soon as possible.

Sly couldn't have been more helpful and willing to answer my questions as always

I've never known such an incompetent firm. Back in 2019 I was contacted about missold PCP. I understand these things take time and was told I could get a couple of grand and they'd take about half for their fee. Great. Money for nothing.

Two weeks ago I was contacted to say they'd lost all of my documents and that I was to resend. I did resend and had no acknowledgement of receipt.

I'm now being asked to provide stuff from 2019 for an affordability claim that I never agreed to pursue and I have no time or interest in finding bank statements from 2019, or p60s etc.

I told barings law not to contact me re the affordability portion of the claim. Someone has now emailed me yesterday saying I've incurred costs for work done on my behalf if I want to cancel.

I didn't want to cancel the claim, just didn't want to pursue an affordability claim that I didn't ask for in the first place.

Furthermore how can work have been done on my behalf if you lost all of my documents and never received them for the affordability in the first place.

I tried phoning and was promised a call back yesterday which I've never received. It's an absolute joke. I wish I'd never got involved with these people.

Carphone warehouse claim made with barings in 2020, keep getting the same email sent that they are waiting for a response from the court when others are been paid months/years ago. I’m beginning to think this was all just a waste of time so no I’ve been in touch with the FA for there advise.

.Very disappointed with your company and the way you’re treating me when I’ve been with you for so long, 2022 and now you’ve put me off to another company because obviously I can’t get the information you require quickly enough. Everything you’ve asked me for, I’ve given you all the information straight away. With this last information I’m having trouble obtaining, I have emailed you time and time again. With no proper reply. All I’m getting from you is the same email over and over again demanding this information. It’s like I’m talking to a robot. It’s a joke and so frustrating. I have spoken on the phone to someone. and I now your getting my name wrong and the actual date of when my claim started this is not acceptable. I feel very letdown by your company Barings Law..

Thank you for replying to my review about Barings Law,you sounded quite sincere about my experience with your company Barings Law but this company you’ve passed me onto my car finance claim is a joke. They are disgusting people and I’ve had enough if you didn’t want to represent me anymore we could’ve just cancelled the claim .
Got email from a Alex still asking for the same information and now saying if can’t supply the information they need, they cannot claim all what they wanted to claim for me and funny about all this I did recognise this person‘s name and found one of the emails he sent earlier and it was the same name but it was the Car finance company his email address but now lately this last email I got from you had your company’s name this is a joke and it wants more when I explain to him about I can’t get this information yet I’m still waiting for my bank.no response.
no reply from him whatsoever I’ve taken screenshots of all of the emails from you and with my bank dates when I’ve asked for your information you want I was going through some of the paperwork I’ve got still and I’ve gave you my bank details years ago. Everything you’ve asked for I’ve gave you so I don’t understand why you want all this information again when you obviously couldn't get my statements years ago when I first gave you my bank details.
My finance agreement i’ve sent you so why am i having to send it all again to this cowboy company and ive seen all the reviews about this company and I don’t wanna take this any further with them if you can’t represent me and then let’s just forget it I’m sick and tired of all this.
