Don’t not use Barings law, drag the ass out of everything used theses for car finance claim wouldn’t recommend these all they care about is getting there fees which they provide very little on.

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the service you have received. This is not the standard of care we like to uphold.
I understand your frustration regarding the length of time it has taken for your claim to progress. Please be assured that our team have been working diligently on your case, however there have been a number of legal matters which has caused a delay in reaching a final conclusion.
This is mostly put down to various court hearings taking place to determine certain meanings around wordings such as if lenders had a fiduciary duty to consumers. Hearings were then subject to appeals until it landed at the Supreme Court, who passed down their judgment in August. However, the legal process continues due to the Financial Conduct Authority now working on a proposed redress scheme.
I hope this helps reassure you that we are continuing to work on your case and doing everything we can to get you the best outcome.

Extremely Poor Service, No Communication, and Lack of Professional Competence
I have been a client of Barings Law for several months and paid £2,600 in full and in advance. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing from start to finish.
They submitted my documents to an official authority without any cover letter from the solicitor — only forwarding the bundle that I personally prepared. Such negligence and spelling mistakes in official submissions could cause serious and irreversible harm to a client’s case.
Despite months of requests, they refuse to arrange any face-to-face meeting and never answer phone calls. There is no emergency contact number for urgent situations, even though I have repeatedly asked for one.
Emails are often ignored, and when they do respond, it’s delayed and incomplete.
Their team has shown a lack of knowledge of essential legal procedures, forcing me to personally research regulations and even contact the relevant authorities directly to clarify matters that my own solicitor should have known.
Because of their poor communication and lack of accountability, I have already been forced to pay for independent legal advice twice, despite already having an active solicitor and a fully paid contract.
Even after more than a year, they still misspell my own name in their email correspondence — a clear reflection of the level of care and attention they provide.
The firm demonstrates no follow-up, no responsibility, and no attention to detail. They handle critical legal matters carelessly, as if they were routine paperwork.
I strongly advise anyone — especially those dealing with sensitive or high-risk cases — to think very carefully before instructing Barings Law. Once they have received payment, communication and professionalism disappear completely.
After my numerous complaints to them and their company, exactly one day after I made a comment about this company in Trust Pilot, instead of apologising or scheduling a face-to-face meeting or correcting their behaviour, they announced to me that we were withdrawing our representation from this case.

No Win No Fee? Maybe!
A big thank you to Andrew Stewart who posted on this page, announcing that there is a 14 day cooling off period [ buried deep down in the terms and conditions ] for online sign ups.
After signing up online for the misuse of data by Google and Microsoft, I started receiving a torrent of emails requesting additional information, including many duplicate emails. Not a good start! I rechecked the extensive T&C’s in their CFA ( conditional fee agreement ) and buried there was a clause that states, “If I lose, I am liable for paying my opponents legal charges and disbursements” WHICH CAN BE HUGE in the case of 2 USA giant companies like Microsoft and Google. I am posting this on TrustPilot to warn others to CAREFULLY read Baring’s T&C’s before signing any agreement with them, this is heavy stuff!

With regard to our claim against Google and Microsoft, they are both no-win no-fee. In addition to your CFA, an insurance policy would have been taken out to ensure that your liable costs would have been transferred to Barings Law in the event of an unsuccessful claim.

I have also seen a post on Facebook with regards to the google data breach. I have provided them with my details but alas I keep getting an email which asks me to fill in a questionnaire. I cannot open this email as it crashes my email app and just continues to try and load indefinitely. I have emailed the company several times to explain the issue and to ask for help but keep getting an automated message back. Thinking this could be a scam to try and get me to pay fees when indeed I try to provide the information but can not access the form. No communication and help in my problems.

Non responsive company!
Similar to others I saw a posting online from resolver with regards to data misuse for google & microsoft. The company mentioned in the posting handling claims was Barings Law.
The form for each claim asked for basic details which did not seem a problem at the time. After submitting the forms and reading through the fine print (which wasn’t available till after the forms were submitted) I decided to cancel. I subsequently filled up the cancellation forms and emailed back to the company.(within the 14 day cooling off period)
This was done within an hour on the 17th September. No call, no email from the company! I tried to call and use the web chat no response! Just bombarded with further meaningless emails which none of them confirm the cancellations requested!
How difficult is it for their customer service to send someone an email to let them know their request has been acknowledged?

Take the Negative reviews with a pinch of salt
I signed up for the Microsoft & Google Data misuse action on 18/09/2025. Having read the 1 star negative reviews on here I decided to cancel my participation as I was concerned that although I appeared to qualify to join, further down the process it might turn out that I did not qualify or would lose and would therefore incur fees of some sort. As I was still in the 14 day cooling off period I decided to cancel, completed a cancelation letter/form(s) and emailed them today 19/09/2025 at 06.43am. At 15.58 on 19/09/2025 I received an email from Jack Houghton at Barings Law confirming my participation had been cancelled. I cannot fault the service I have received and while at least one of the negative reviews implies that they think the positive reviews are fake, I would question the motives of that particular reviewer, and the other negative reviewers. Maybe they feel they are entitled to one-2-one immediate service and their expectations are unachievable, or maybe they have an axe to grind and would never be satisfied. I and my partner encounter people of this mindset on a daily basis in our jobs. My experience has been very positive. I was contacted promptly in reply to my emails.
