Tony Vullo came out personally to do the quote, and Ewa and Callie Collins kept us well informed by email and phone. Everyone was helpful, and if they weren’t available, they always called back.

The move was managed over two days. Michael led the team, along with Raheel and several others, all of whom worked hard and did their part. They arrived on time in a clearly marked company truck, with a second truck arriving in the afternoon to load items from the garage. On the second day, they collected the remaining boxes and a few last items before driving everything down to Dorset.

Overall, a smooth, well-organised move from start to finish. Highly recommended.

It’s very expensive and the expectation to receive a superior service that justify the price was not met.

The crew were hard working and efficient, but lacking from clear instructions/directions from the head office.

Head office indicated that the return from storage and assembling of furniture would require one working day. In actual fact, it required three full working days (plus a couple of additional hours on the fourth day) due to inaccurate planning:

• The boxes returned from storage took all the space available in the flat and the handymen didn’t have enough space to assemble the furniture. Some of the boxes had to be put back on the van and returned to storage to enable the handymen finish assembling the furniture.

• Assembling the furniture turned out to be a much longer and more difficult task, because a few components had been packed with other items and not clearly labelled. As a result, all the boxes had to be opened to find all the components and complete the assembling of the furniture.

Quick and clear communication throughout the process of moving and storage. Very fast and efficient packing, with items stored carefully. They took away a lot of the stress of moving.

This isn’t something you’d ordinarily think of saying about a removal experience, but these guys were absolutely brilliant and borderline super-human! I had two desks, a ludicrously heavy sculpture/coffee table, numerous boxes and storage crates and an entire garden set consisting of a large table, 6 chairs and a gigantic parasol with a sand-filled base that weighed a ton. The guys arrived at my top floor flat at 9am. At 10:40am I signed the document to say everything was unmarked and safely in the new address. That’s not a typo - it took them 1 hour and 40 minutes. Sure, the two addresses were only a 5 minutes drive from each other, but regardless, that’s got to be some sort of record and if it’s not, it should be. Highly recommend this team, I’ll most certainly be using them again. Top marks. Ten out of ten. Guinness Book of Records.

competitive, thorough and quick - very happy with the move

Michael and his team did a fast and efficient job moving me the last two days, despite blistering sunshine and some tight corners. They communicated brilliantly and were clear but friendly with boundaries such as disconnecting water appliances and fixing wardrobes to walls. Moving house is incredibly stressful but they took away as much as they reasonably could.

Fantastic efficient service. The lads worked through the hottest day of the year without batting an eyelid. Very quick, friendly and kind to the removed person! Terrific team - I'm very happy.

Alexanders Removals were brilliant. Every step of the way. First they were the most competitive prce yet, right from the off, the most thorough. An early morning video call where I could 'show' them the job, not just explain. Then every question answered and anticipated. And incredibly comprehensive quote.
Then the actual removals, storage and return of everything. Perfect. The crews were incredibly polite and helpful all the way. Went out of their way to be helpful and suggest solutions. Quick too. They sent plenty of people to do what looked like really hard work. Then I over extended my storage time and throughout, the office staff - Dimitri, Alexander, Justyna were brillaint. Understanding, helpful, just great.
My goods were all returned in perfect condition. Everythinng rann like clockwork. Every step was explained and re-explained when I was too thick to understand.
I would recommend Alexanders to anyone. It's a bit stressful doing a move and having a company where the mails, the phone calls, the meetings and the removals themselves, the crews, are all so on top of their game really helped relieve some stress. Well done Alexanders!

Excellent, professional and punctual service. Justyna was my move manager, who arranged everything ahead of time including a video survey to determine the move strategy. The three packers planned out how to organize themselves so that we were packed from a 3 bed 2 bath apartment in less than 2 hours, even with several wine glasses, delicate crockery and fragile souvenirs and paintings. When we arrived at the destination, realizing that the designated parking was too far away, the movers quickly adapted, shifting to the loading dock to get me moved into the new place by lunchtime! They were extremely courteous, and knew what to pack and what not to pack, even finding a set of keys I'd lost a year ago! I don't plan to move again, but if I do, I'll definitely go back to Alexanders.

Considerate, flexible and conscientious. We had a fairly complex move, with multiple locations and waste disposal involved.
We evaluated 5 different companies and are confident we made the right choice - Alexanders were a pleasure to work with from first contact to completion!

Great service from start to finish. Justyna was so helpful in answering my many questions and made the whole move feel really smooth and straightforward. On the day, Robin and Geo made it look effortless – such a great team. Would definitely recommend!

We switched to Alexander’s from a perfectly acceptable local removals company we have used before (that was much cheaper) because we were moving to a very large house and assumed from the reviews that the communication and management would be far slicker. I’m afraid to say it wasn’t at all. The actual removals guys were brilliant - they were very friendly, efficient, helpful and solution oriented - but the comms were just not great at all. Here are a few things that happened.

- it was in general quite hard to get hold of our move manager quickly. She often didn’t reply that quickly and was also away for a week a couple of weeks prior to our move with no other contact on her out of office so I just had to wait a full week for her reply. She then was away on annual leave AGAIN just a week later, over the day of our actual move. And I only found out this was going to be the case at the last minute because I checked in about something. If I hadn’t I don’t think anyone would have informed me that my actual move manager wasn’t going to be available on any of our move days.

- there was a bit of a slapdash approach to strategy. The house we were moving to was far bigger than our previous house, but when I asked about a labelling system I was just told the guys would move boxes to the equivalent of the room they’d been picked up. Since this didn’t really make any sense in the context of the two houses, I devised a labelling system myself and handed out floor plans to the removals guys, who were more than happy to follow it, but it definitely felt like something the company could and should have helped with.

- on our actual move day the line manager who was supposed to be looking after our move in Callie’s absence then very clearly hadn’t read any handover notes. There was a problem where the handiman who had been booked to dismantle and reassemble our Springform trampoline on the same day as arranged didn’t think he was in fact booked for reassemble that same day, and also wasn’t sure whether he could transport the trampoline in a certain way without checking the height of the side access at the new property. All the sort of stuff you need a move manager to assess and fix, except it felt like we didn’t really have a move manager. When I eventually heard back from Jeanette it became clear the reason she was being so casual about it all was in part because she didn’t even realise it was our actual move day. When I suggested this wasn’t really the level of streamlined service we felt we’d paid for she said it wasn’t her fault people were allowed holidays, which I felt was unnecessarily passive aggressive and rude (I too work and understand the concept of holidays! But plenty of people do proper handover notes). Eventually all the issues including the trampoline were sorted, but by the helpful foreman, not the office.

- it became clear there was poor communication between the actual removals guys and the management team. The foreman told me they dealt with entirely different people from us. When the guys originally came by to drop off boxes pre-move they tried to hand over literally ALL boxes three weeks in advance even though much of that would have been waiting for weeks for the removals guys to do their part of the packing the day before move day. (I sorted it out but it was a bit unnecessary.) I then experienced a similar issue later when I had arranged collection of the boxes post-removal. At about 4pm the day before we were finally given a time slot which unfortunately by that time we could not make. When I mentioned this to Callie she said it could not be changed because the route was fixed. After I had emailed back to say fine we would have to wait until the following week but please could we have some say or advance warning over time slots as it’s a bit much to ask people to put aside a whole work day until the late afternoon before, I actually then DID hear from the pick-up guy who a) hadn’t been told we wouldn’t be there and was therefore standing at our front door, and b) said he was more than happy to try to come back later.

The whole thing just seemed a bit ridiculous and the bit that I had thought I’d be paying extra for - good management - was the worst bit. I’d have been much better off dealing directly with the foreman and pick-up guys myself.

A trustworthy, most reliable team with unmatched expertise, attention to detail and fully personalised service. I cannot recommend Alex and Team highly enough.

I have now used Alexanders for two moves, 14 years apart. Both have been excellent. For the more recent one, this month, everything from initial contact to pick-up of empty boxes was impeccably done, efficiently, as promised, and on schedule. I could not have asked for anything better.

I would especially like to thank and commend Justyna for her exceptional work as the move manager. She was unfailingly responsive, helpful and reassuring throughout, and made the whole process feel stress-free (or as close to that as a house move can be).

Lukas​ ​and​ ​his​ ​team​ ​were excellent.​ ​They​ ​arrived​ ​promptly​ ​at​ ​8am,​ ​were​ ​incredibly​ ​efficient,​ ​and​ ​had​ ​us​ ​all​ ​moved​ ​in​ ​by​ ​2pm.

Although​ ​they​ ​were​ ​quick​ ​they​ ​didn’t​ ​rush​ ​-​ ​checking​ ​with​ ​us​ ​regularly​ ​and​ ​making​ ​sure​ ​everything​ ​was​ ​dismantled,​ ​reassembled,​ ​and​ ​put​ ​in​ ​the​ ​correct​ ​room.

They​ ​took​ ​great​ ​care​ ​with​ ​our​ ​belongings​ ​and​ ​with​ ​carpets​ ​and​ ​doorways​ ​at​ ​the​ ​new​ ​property.​ Alexander’s have moved us twice now and give real peace of mind.

Alexanders were amazing for our move. They were so efficient, the movers led by Tomek were friendly and took good care of our furniture. We had some large awkward furniture that was difficult to get out of our house but Tomek found a solution and made it seem easy. The organisation by Justyna the move manager was perfect. Moving house is so stressful but Alexanders made the day itself as easy as possible. Highly recommend.
