Plants arrived diseased, customer service never arrived

Plants arrived diseased contacted customer service 6 times finally heard back and followed up with pictures. That's the last I heard from them. Posted negative reviews on their site. Guess what didn't get posted. Done with these Yahoo's.

No urgency in delivering live plants

No urgency in delivering live plants. I ordered six Red Creeping Thymes. Received an email saying they were shipped on May 22, 2019 with a tracking number. I tracked my order and was informed the plants would be delivered on May 28, 2019. I received the plants after 6PM on May 28th. Taking an entire week to deliver live plants is ridiculous. Needless to say, they were all dead.

Uses environmentally unfriendly packing peanuts of styrofoam!

The plants are fine and good size upon arrival. They’re regular prices are high so I only shop their sales. However I was shocked to see they’re still using packing peanuts of styrofoam! No one uses those Anya’s they’re so horrible for the environment and the consumer. That alone will prevent me from shopping there again.

I cannot believe the absolute…

I cannot believe the absolute unprofessionalism of your company.

I placed order number WEBWG1978948 on your website on Sunday, May 5th, paying for expedited overnight shipping because I wanted to make sure this gift arrived on time and in good condition.

Monday, May 6: No information on my order

Tuesday, May 7: No information on my order

Wednesday, May 8: No information on my order. So this time I call and wait on hold forever and finally give up getting a real person.

Thursday, May 9: I call again in the morning and speak to a customer service representative. She informed me that my order had been taken to the shipping dock and would go out that day or the next. I was very clear to her that I had to deliver by Saturday and asked if they did Saturday delivery. She said yes. I again reiterated that not only did it need to arrive by Saturday, but that I did not want it going out if it was going to sit in a box in a warehouse on Sunday. She understood and said it would be no problem.

Friday, May 10: I get the email update with the tracking number that my order has shipped, but the tracking number gives no information yet since the order hasn’t been picked up.

Saturday, May 11: I check the tracking number to see that my package is going to now deliver on Monday. Meaning it will arrive late, and sit in a box for four days. I call your customer service line and wait on hold for 17 minutes before getting a real person who said there was nothing she could do. I explained that the order is no good to me on Monday, so I need a full refund. She says she can refund the shipping only. Obviously this is unacceptable. Wayside Gardens failed to deliver on their promise. I placed an order for overnight delivery, and now you’re delivering 8 days later. She said the only way to get a full refund is to deny the package. But I cannot deny the package unless I wait at the door for 8 hours for when the UPS delivery comes. Why is it that I did my part in placing this order, Wayside is the company that failed their end, and I have to do more work?

The product is no use to me now. This is no one’s fault but your company’s, but yet you’re telling me it will take more work on my end to fix your mistakes. This is completely unacceptable and I do expect a call from a manager since your people on the phone have no authority to do anything.

This is not the company it used to be

This is not the company it used to be. Order delays without notifications, or communication. No response to emails either. Never again. It's really sad the way this company is run now. Not trustworthy anymore. Don't waste your money.

I have ordered three times in the past 2 years. I love the shipping containers, the plants have always arrived on time and in great shape.
I get what I ordered. I think its a helpful business and I appreciate it.

No Wayside for Me !!

Personally I would stay clear of Wayside. I ordered two 3packs of Asclepias 'Cinderella' - Pack of 3 Plants per website ordering. I received TWO PLANTS !! I called and customer service said it was an advertising misprint !! They never offered to allow me to send the two plants back for a full refund. Don't deal with a business that does not own up to their mistakes. I am sure there are many on-line nurseries who CARE about customer satisfaction !!

Never had one problem

Never had one problem, but, if I had, berating Wayside for one mistake as if they had intentionally meant to aggravate me would seem petty and ludicrous. They put out some fine merchandise.

Wasn't super bad but wasn't super…

Wasn't super bad but wasn't super thrilled either. The plants were smaller than another online company that I used of the same pot size. The plants were rolling around in the box, there was bubble wrap everywhere. Granted, the post office opened this box and rifled through it for random inspections, so that is probably why it was an absolute mess inside, but, another online plant shipper packs their plants tightly packed in custom fit quart size cardboard sleeves, not bubble wrap. That was a much better way to ship. Now as far as the plants, the Iceberg roses came in with no no container, no leaves, and no dirt, roots wrapped in paper, but the paper wasn't around the roots and they were half way out of a plastic bag. I didn't think they would live. I planted them, with the crown 2 inches below soil level. Two sprouted within the first month and the other did nothing. I let it sit for 4 months, figured it was dead, but kept watering it anyway since I had a ground cover there, and it's September and it has sprouted! The other rose is about 2-3 ft tall already, this season. So, all of the plants that came in lived, even though the post office trashed the packaging and held it longer. Would I order again? if they had something I really wanted and I couldn't get it from my other source I would, but I do like the other online source better.

Styrofoam-packed boxes 😵

Too bad there isn’t a 1/3 star! Styrofoam should not be used by a company shipping plants. It has taken me months to remove the styrofoam from my garden. I mistakenly opened your box in the yard. The styrofoam was strewn everywhere. What in the world were you thinking? It took me months to find all of the pieces. Shame on you!!

There is absolutely nothing positive to…

There is absolutely nothing positive to be said about this place... Customer service is nonexistent. I ordered plants for my daughter for her Xmas present, items she requested. She changed her mind about several to be delivered in April, Wayside REFUSED to let her change the order. I had to call them and threaten to cancel the purchase before they allowed the change. I also told them not to send me catalogs when I initially ordered for her in Nov of 2017. Naturally, they disregarded my instructions and continue to send me catalogs to this day, 08.24.18, even though, every time I receive one, I call and tell them to stop sending.

No customer service whatsoever when it…

No customer service whatsoever when it comes to emails...I don't know why they even bother to have the service. It's over 2 months pushing 3 months & I have just got an initial email response & that's now been 4 days ago and no response back.

Of the several plants I ordered the…

Of the several plants I ordered the Columbine were the heartiest and have all thrived. I ordered 3 hollyhocks and 1 died. I ordered a poppy and it never grew either. The annual flowers I purchased came 6 weeks after they were to be shipped and had many dead stems. I planted them immediately and watered. They are alive but not looking too well.

Excellent Customer Service

Although the plants that came were not in good shape (I don't believe that was Wayside's fault), probably from the delivery progress, I had a very positive experience from the representative. I was given credit for the plants. When Fall rolls around, I will be ordering plants from this wonderful company.

My first order from Wayside Gardens!

My first order from Wayside Gardens was a new lantana called Bandito Red. It was a late order, and would be shipped from the source rather than from Wayside, but I ordered two three packs anyway because I really liked them! I received confirmation of my order, but then didn't hear anything for quite some time. Since I've never ordered any plants on line before, I was a little concerned, so I called Wayside Gardens customer service. I spoke to a very nice lady who explained the whole process to me, and said they would be shipped in the next two weeks. She also assured me that if the plants were not satisfactory, I could call Wayside and receive a full refund. Well, the darling little lantana plants arrived, were very healthy and have done beautifully! I'm going to wait to put them in the ground until it cools off a bit, but they are thriving in pots right now and I am thrilled with my order and with Wayside Gardens! I will definitely buy from them again with complete confidence!!
