Avoid – dishonest return process and inflated charges

Check-in was smooth and friendly. We arrived in the evening and were told to video the car before leaving, which we did.

The return process was completely unacceptable. No staff were outside, so we went inside. Two men then came out and carried out the most excessive inspection I have ever witnessed — crawling under the car with torches and scrutinising every inch, clearly looking for something to charge us for.

They eventually claimed a tiny scratch at the very top of the vehicle, consistent with a light brush from a branch and completely invisible on our return video in both daylight and night conditions. It was obvious they were determined to find an issue, particularly as we had not taken their full insurance cover.

We repeatedly asked to speak to a manager and were told the man dealing with us was the only person available. He then stated the second man present was from a different rental company, which is highly concerning during a damage inspection.

We were initially told the charge would be €250, which was then changed to €250 plus VAT, yet we were charged €350. VAT in Italy is 22%, which does not justify this amount. When questioned, no clear explanation was provided.

Another couple returning a vehicle at the same time reported similar issues and stated they would never use this company again.

This felt like a deliberate attempt to extract money at return. I would strongly advise avoiding this rental company in Verona.

I booked and paid for a rental car in advance with Viaggiare Rent trough EnjoyTravel.com. The confirmation voucher stated the following:
Start of rental: 5 December 2025, 12:00
End of rental: 10 December 2025, 12:00.

My flight was slightly delayed, so I arrived at 13:30. However, when I arrived at the Viaggiare Rent desk at Verona Airport, the representative informed me that my booking had been cancelled and that I needed to contact EnjoyTravel.com, the broker. The representative was not at all sympathetic with my case and just kept watching his mobile phone. I was stranded at the airport.

According to the company, the car had to be collected within 59 minutes of the start of the rental period; otherwise, it would be considered a 'no-show' and the rental would be cancelled without a refund.

I am wondering how this is possible. I had paid the full amount in advance for the car, so it should have been available on site, even though I was slightly late. I believe this has happened to many other customers, causing them to lose time and money, not to mention the negative consequences.

Car tyre exploded while driving which caused me to swerve and the back tyre hit the kerb. The tyre pressure was low and was on my way to find a petrol station to inflate them then the tyre blew out, no water for the windscreen and it wasn't clean. Me and my friend were clearly shook up. Viaggiare totally denied they were at fault as clearly they never checked the vehicle. They charged me for roadside recovery over €400 and then tried to charge another €400 for 2 tyres. Do yourself a favour stay away from this company absolute scammers.
While I paid for roadside recovery I never paid for the tyres as I had no money left. I offered to pay for tyres once I got my deposit back. That was back in October 2025, its now December 2025 and never seen a penny of my €685 deposit. Even after 2months of emails and phone calls. I'll never visit lake garda again.

PROBLEMA GOMME ESTIVE FUORI LEGGE!!! Una cosa incomprensibile: noleggi un auto che pensi essere in regola invece monta gomme estive quando dal 15 novembre vige l obbligo di gomme invernali perciò sei costretto ad avere a bordo le catene ...che però te le fanno pagare extra. Generalmente bene i ragazzi all accettazione all aeroporto di Verona.

A empresa foi rápida no atendimento e com preço competitivo. Elogio o rentcars.com, pois encontra os veículos mais vantajosos.

Mi experiencia sintiéndolo mucho es negativa, para recoger espera de una hora , para entregarlo lo mismo , pero aparte es que después de dos meses van realizando cargos a la tarjeta por gastos de administración , que según ellos son por multas y han identificado, les pido las multas y las fotos correspondientes y no dan señales de vida no contestan , muy negativa la experiencia
Aparte comentarle que el coche sucio por dentro y por fuera , la información recibida por los empleados nula , solo que se firme y sin dar tiempo a leer el contrato , las presuntas multas perdonen que les diga las tienen que adjuntar porque esos cargos no los asumo , quiero la devolución de los cargos realizados indebidamente

Prenotazione e consegna auto veloce e puntuale. Giandomenico, il ragazzo che mi ha servito, è stato simpatico, cortese e professionale.
Forse allineerei i prezzi con quelli proposti da browser esterni, così da assicurarmi clienti diretti.
Per adesso, posso dire che mi sono trovata bene.
