DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they are unscrupulous.
In 30 years of using car hire companies this is the worst by far.

At the car hire desk I was asked for my drivers licence and passport the guy serving commented that we had a 2 driver hire so my wife handed over her driving licence too. All was going well he had got the keys out and was finishing off the paperwork when a colleague came through and said a few words, then the guy asked me for an International Driving Licence I said I didn’t have one and that my U.K. licence hadn’t ever been a problem before. He said I wouldn’t be able to hire a car with them without one and would need to speak to Auto Europe for a refund.

We were left high and dry with no car!

We then tried every other car hire company at Verona and none of them required an IDL.

We ended up hiring from Italy Car Rent who couldn’t be more helpful and I would thoroughly recommend.

The strangest turn of events is that upon my return from holiday I caught up with a friend who had coincidentally hired from Viaggiare at Verona a week after us and he wasn’t asked for an International Driving Licence! Why were we asked and he was not? Be warned

Do not use this hire company. We hired a car from them at Verona airport. We turned up early and ended up being charged for an early pick up despite only getting the car 45 mins earlier than pre booked.

Then nobody was at the office for drop off. We had taken a video on both drop off and arrival for damages.
I was told this was a brand new car and it hadn’t got any damage.
My video on pick up shows doors that had been damaged on the end edge near to the handles and a scratch on the back passenger door. Also crisps were on the back seat. Clearly the car hadn’t been checked and cleaned properly.

On arrival at home I have received a text to say a scratch has been found on the glass above the same door as the scratch I had found on an apparently immaculate car!

They want 150 euros for the damage which was already there and not noticed on one of their inspections.

The car company is running a scam as they are tempting you in on cheap prices through brokers and getting their money back by using the unseen damages, which I believe they know are not the customers fault and therefore fraudulent.

Unless you are prepared to spend two hours taking 1000s of pictures of every part of the car you are on a loser as soon as you drive out of the airport.

Please don’t hire from this company!!!

After a perfectly fine rental they then spammed me with 4 very confusing bills that list a "Fast Return" fee that was at no point mentioned by the staff member at drop off. They have also not replied to my email asking for an explanation. They have also not released my deposit over 10 days after drop off even though their were no issues with the car. So due to this service, I cannot recommned this company even though the car itself was fine.

Ho utilizzato più volte ilservizio presso l'aeroporto di Verona con prenotazione anticipata. Ma ora basta: puntualmente al box della consegna esce sempre un problema ( la carta , la patente, la scadenza di tre mesi della carta di credito) e ti portano a pagare sempre un prezzo decisamente più alto. E il servizio customer care fa veramente pena . Non lo utilizzerò più. Inoltre l ultima volta mi hanno dato un auto cinese rumorosa e scomoda. Mai più. Ci sono agenzie migliori a buon prezzo.

Booked a rental car via DiscoverCars with Viaggiare Rent. The car was not ready on time, resulting in an approximate 1-hour wait.

Upon return, I was billed an exorbitant and unreasonable EUR 940 damage charge for a tiny windscreen chip. This fee vastly exceeds any realistic repair cost. The desk staff provided an internal invoice listing a €696.72 'damage charge' and a €73.78 'technical stop' (both plus 22% IVA). This document was generated internally by Viaggiare Rent, not an independent mechanic. They have provided zero evidence that the windscreen requires a full replacement rather than a simple repair, nor have they proven the car was grounded or that they suffered a loss of rental income.
Disappointed with these predatory billing practices.

I have booked a car for one day at the Verona airport, when I arrive, they tell me they don’t accept my credit card for the deposit because it was a digital bank, then I give them another credit card and they keep telling me they don’t accept it, even though it was from a traditional bank (Santander), and finally, the only option they have given to me was to buy the full insurance for the car, and note that I made the payment through the website with the digital bank’s card without any problem, so the problem was brought by the staff. Terrible experience, wouldn’t recommend at all

I rented cars from them many times, always had a great experience. There prices are also reasonable and customer service is also great. Definitely will come back again next time

Pessima esperienza, al mio arrivo per il check in ho dovuto aspettare perché non c'era una macchina della categoria scelta disponibile, volevano darmi un'altra auto inferiore, al mio rifiuto, mi hanno proposto un'auto appena rientrata che però doveva essere pulita dentro e fuori, ma avrei dovuto attendere 10 minuti per sistemarla. Dopo il mio consenso, ho atteso e mi son state consegnate le chiavi dicendomi che hanno pulito all'interno ma non l'esterno, non riuscivano con i tempi, la macchina una seat arona che aveva già una grossa ammaccatura sullo sportello guidatore e dei graffi sul parafango anteriore dx. mi consigliano di fare delle foto o video sulla macchina prima di spostarla dal parcheggio, premetto macchina sporca esternamente e situata in un parcheggio buio e soprattutto incastrata fra 2 auto, quindi per me impossibile fare i controlli necessari, al mio rientro il giorno dopo con benzina ripristinata più del dovuto e pulita all'interno, arriva il ragazzo per il controllo, inizia a controllare l'auto nei minimi particolari con la luce del telefono dentro e fuori neanche fosse uno dei RIS, nel fianco dove c'é la grossa ammaccatura, nel parafango posteriore sx trova una lieve ammaccatura forse da 1 cm, peccato che non posso caricare le foto che ha fatto sovrapponendo un righello calamitato per far capire quanto è superficiale.
Cmq dopo avergli spiegato e detto tutto questo che ho scritto mi hanno fatto una fattura di danni per ben 350.00 € per un qualcosa minuscola e che sicuramente era già presente.

Pessima esperienza, ci hanno dato una macchina danneggiata sullo sportello, danno segnalato, sporca fuori , e pertanto con graffi e ammacature non visibili al primo sguardo.
Tenuta due giorni in parcheggio custodito, alla consegna, solo tramite la pila hanno" scovato un'ammaccatura" non visibile ad occhio nudo, che per certo era già presente prima della consegna essendo tutta la macchina un caos, con adebbito relativo di 150 euro. Non ci serviremo sicuramente più da loro.

Warning!!! Do not rent here if you need an automatic car. They DO NOT HONOUR reservations of automatic cars, plain and simple. I had a valid booking and arrived on time (20 December 2025). I was told that they only had manual cars available. I was left with no choice but to arrange a last-minute rental with a different company (Hertz).

My reservation with Viaggiare cost EUR 165 but I ended up paying EUR 650 instead, through no fault of my own. I have rented cars in Europe for several years and this is the first time a valid reservation has not been honoured. Viaggiare was happy to leave me stranded and offered no assistance whatsoever.

When I made a complaint, Viaggiare did not apologise or offer any compensation. My impression is that they simply do not care that I was forced to spend a lot of extra money to get out of a terrible situation that they put me in.

All they do is quote their T&Cs at you: “In the event of absolute unavailability to assign a vehicle, or in the event of the Customer's refusal to accept a vehicle other than the booked category, the Lessor's sole responsibility will be to refund the amount paid by the Customer for the rental of the vehicle up to that point.”

Ho prenotato il noleggio di un auto presso questa agenzia, pagando per una Renault Clio. Mi sarei aspettato una Renault Clio, o un auto di pari categoria e pari equipaggiamento di serie(adas compresi) mi viene invece consegnata una Mahindra kuv100, senza nessun adas, dotazione di bordo essenziale solo 2 airbag e nemmeno quelli laterali. Comunque, ritiro l'auto in quanto non era un grande problema avere una Mahindra. Lauto al momento del ritiro presentava solo un copri cerchio, tra l'altro anche non perfettamente in aderenza con la ruota(tutto documentato dalle foto e dal video fatto al momento del ritiro). Per l'intero periodo di utilizzo non mi ero reso conto di aver perso l'unico copri cerchio, in quanto l'auto è rimasta quasi praticamente ferma per tutto il periodo in un garage coperto e chiuso di un hotel, ma mi resi conto di averlo perso solo il giorno in cui dovevo rendere l'auto.
Feci notare l'accaduto al ragazzo dell'agenzia, spiegando il tutto e facendo notare che se la macchina al momento del mio ritiro presentava un solo copri cerchio, era evidente che tutti gli altri copricerchi mancanti erano stati persi in marcia per un palese difetto sugli agganci. Gli spiegai anche del grande pericolo che può comportare affittare un mezzo simile, con il rischio di perdere un copricerchio in autostrada e poter urtare un automobilista o peggio ancora un motociclista.
Il ragazzo inizialmente conveniva con me per quello che gli dissi, per poi dirmi che la politica aziendale prevedeva il risarcimento del costo del copricerchio di €40(che ho pagato).

Azienda seria la consiglio. Aeroporto Verona, Personale cordiale e disponibile. Alla riconsegna del veicolo mi sono stati addebitati 25 euro per la pulizia ma comunque l’ho reputato congruo visto che ero stato avvertito prima della politica, e in ogni caso 25 euro sono più o meno quanto avrei pagato comunque io per farla pulire.

Terrible service. If you look at reviews on other platforms you will see their reputation. My flight was delayed by one hour. I waited for 20 minutes at their desk while they dealt with another customer. They said I was over an hour late and therefore a 'no show' so my booking was cancelled. They thought they had a stranded traveller at 10pm in Verona who they could rip off and told me that to re- book would cost €440 for the six day hire (my original booking was €70). Luckily my hotel was only five minutes away so I told them to *** themselves. I used Italy Car Rental instead who were great.

I was fined for scratches that were already present on the car as shown in the document that they send me by email when I collect the car.

Noleggio presso aeroporto Verona, veloci, gentili pratici e corretti. Auto quasi nuova, nessun tipo di problema. Vi assicuro che non è una cosa del tutto scontata….torneremo.

Unser Flug Hamburg Verona war deutlich verspätet,. wir konnten aber aus dem Flugzeug heraus keinen Anruf in Verona machen, um die Verspätung mitzuteilen. Natürlich gibt es im Mietwagenterminal einen großen Bildschirm, der die Verspätung angezeigt hatte. Am Schalter teilte man mir mit, der (bezahlte) Wagen sei nicht mehr verfügbar, auch alle anderen Fahrzeuge bereits weg. Also mußten wir für eine deutlich höhere Summe bei einem anderen Anbieter mieten. Die Mitarbeiter dort begrüßten uns mit breitem Grinsen, wir waren wohl nicht die einzigen an diesem Nachnmittag. Meine Beschwerde ergab nach wochenlanger Prüfung, dass eine Erstattung aufgrund der Vertragsbedingungen nicht nötig sei. Auch Check 24 hielt sich bei meiner Beschwerde bedeckt.
Sicher kein weiteres Mal !

ho prenotato una vettura per il periodo dal 31.12.2025 al 05.06.2025 tramite il sito nel periodo in cui c'era la promozione Black Friday che includeva oltre allo sconto anche la possibilità di avere secondo guidatore gratuitamente. siamo arrivati al banco check in e il dipendente ci dice che non era incluso il secondo guidatore, dopo aver insistito e aver fatto vedere lo screenshot della promozione black friday mi ha inserito il secondo guidatore. inoltre ci dice che è necessario noleggiare anche le catene da neve perchè a GENNAIO a Verona la macchina ha le gomme ESTIVE. la macchina era senza tappetini e soprattutto dal lato guidatore il piede scivolava con rischio di causare qualche incidente. e per finire, il mio compagno non esperto, ma che comunque si intende un po' di macchine guardando nel cofano motore ha visto che avevano tolto la protezione inferiore del motore (un pannello di plastica) e quindi se avessimo preso una pozzanghera avremmo fatto danno alla macchina e avremmo dovuto pagare (anche se avevamo la copertura gold le parti meccaniche non sono incluse nella copertura). eppure avevo prenotato con viaggiare rent a cagliari e ci eravamo trovati benissimo...

Avoid – dishonest return process and inflated charges

Check-in was smooth and friendly. We arrived in the evening and were told to video the car before leaving, which we did.

The return process was completely unacceptable. No staff were outside, so we went inside. Two men then came out and carried out the most excessive inspection I have ever witnessed — crawling under the car with torches and scrutinising every inch, clearly looking for something to charge us for.

They eventually claimed a tiny scratch at the very top of the vehicle, consistent with a light brush from a branch and completely invisible on our return video in both daylight and night conditions. It was obvious they were determined to find an issue, particularly as we had not taken their full insurance cover.

We repeatedly asked to speak to a manager and were told the man dealing with us was the only person available. He then stated the second man present was from a different rental company, which is highly concerning during a damage inspection.

We were initially told the charge would be €250, which was then changed to €250 plus VAT, yet we were charged €350. VAT in Italy is 22%, which does not justify this amount. When questioned, no clear explanation was provided.

Another couple returning a vehicle at the same time reported similar issues and stated they would never use this company again.

This felt like a deliberate attempt to extract money at return. I would strongly advise avoiding this rental company in Verona.
