When the plane landed, it made a very loud noise and shook the overhead luggage compartments.

When retrieving luggage, the seams of the overhead compartments even came undone.

The plane was of very poor quality.

My boyfriend and I travelled to Bangkok from HCMC using this airline and everything went so much better than expected!

We were a little bit worried because of all the negative things we read about them on the days prior to the flight, so we tried to be as much prepared as we could.

Starting with the basics: no online check-in as they need to verify passports and other information such as departure ticket from Thailand and hotel booking. We were actually expecting to be asked this at Thailand's immigration counters, not sure if it's routine or if it has to be with Thailand migration becoming more strict now with who they let in, we also had read about that on the upcoming days. We didn't have departure tickets so they told us to book it and come back, they kept our passports during the process and accepted a bus ticket to Malaysia.

Now onto the big deal for us which was the baggage allowance. We had purchased one 15kg bag when buying the tickets and had two more 7kg cabin luggage allowed. We were worried about the extra weight so organized and took some things in and out of each bag in order to get the most of those 29kg total. And we did it, 14.9 on the clock for the checked bag (they didn't weight the other two nor said a thing about the dimensions). Plane was full but there was more cabin room than what you would expect on a full flight with a low cost airline, no stress trying to fit our duffle bag.

So far so great! Just get to HCMC airport with enough time because of the well known waiting lines (almost 1.5 hours between check-in and getting to the flight gate). The flight took off 30 minutes later but only landed 10 minutes after the scheduled time. The plane looked fine both outside and inside, enough legroom (we are between 175/185 cm tall), purchased meals on board which you can pay cash, smooth ride only probably the roughest landing we ever experienced but other than that everything went just fine!

Both ground and air crew were nice.

dogshit experience, staff working at the office have an unprofessional attitude, lying, miss many requests, so I need to redo many procedures to suit the requirements of flying to another country. What a worst experience!

So awful. Firstly couldn’t go through security because I didn’t write my middle name… Secondly they overcharged for overweight luggage. One girl had to pay because they weighted her carry on and her personal bag together(that she both payed for). Worst airline I have ever stepped a foot on. So unprofessional and rude staff.

We took twice this cheap company, and instead of vietjetair, they are cheaper and they did not charge us for our small musical instrument, and they are nice! The customer service is also available and helpful !
Just sometime late but still make it !

Awful airline, cancelled flight and didn’t notify us of this.

Absolutely useless in arranging a refund and not helpful in arranging another flight.

Had to book a later flight ourselves and put our connection flight in jeopardy.

They won't let me boarding because middle name was missing. Therefore they forced me to buy a new ticket. My other trips works normally without middle name.

I saw in the news that Vietravel Airlines is now under new management and no longer part of Vietravel. They officially separated around April last year.

When I contacted Vietravel for help with my ticket, they explained they couldn’t handle airline tickets anymore — but still tried their best to assist by calling someone else and even guiding me when I went to the head office.

Just to note, Vietravel now focuses only on tours, not the airline, so be careful when booking anything under the name “Vietravel Airlines.”

As for the Vietravel tour services, I have nothing but good things to say — the sales staff and tour guides were all very kind and helpful. My family and I really appreciated their support.

Me and my partner flew from Da Nang Int to Hanoi Int 18:55 this evening and were extremely anxious beforehand due to the terrible reviews. That said, we arrived 3 hours early, ate dinner at the airport and checked in as soon as we were able to (2 hours' before departure).
We were the first people to bag-drop (we purchased priority check-in) and it was completely perfect! No issues what-so-ever, staff very pleasant and friendly, no questioning our luggage allowances and completely hassle free. Boarded seemlessly, flight got us there on time and our luggage was first off the belt at Hanoi Int.

We would say it is completely fine to fly with this airline despite the terrible reviews (bare in mind people generally only leave them if they had an extremely positive or extremely negative experience). We do think, however, it might be a pay-to-play in so far as we did see families NOT in the priority check-in who were being hassled for their luggage and given more jobsworth treatment.

In summary: show up early to the airport,
pay for the add-ons in advance of arrival (bag allowances & priority check-in if you can afford to), check-in online 24 hours before your flight, and try not to worry! It is no different of an experience than Ryanair or Easyjet (to our fellow Europeans).

** We only left 4 stars instead of 5 because we do not want to discredit the experiences of other customers who report having had a bad experience with this airline. Therefore, we do accept there is also a potential element of luck in our positive experience. But regardless, we wanted to share to put other travellers' minds at ease.

I will not be using Booking.com again.
I had a confirmed flight reservation, but when I needed to add luggage, Booking.com completely locked my booking. The airline could see my reservation, but told me Booking.com had full control and had to process the payment.

I spent hours calling support, only to be told “there is nothing they can do.” Even after the airline added the service, Booking.com refused to release the payment link or unlock the booking. Their escalation team promised to follow up by phone or email — I received neither.

Because of Booking.com’s system, I was forced into last-minute airport fees that cost nearly double. This is unacceptable. If they take your money for a flight, the least they should do is give you access to manage your booking.

Their customer service is slow, unhelpful, and takes no responsibility for the problems their system creates.
If you value your time or money, avoid Booking.com for flights. The risk is simply not worth it.

They are trash - starting from Support staff at airport to beat up aircraft. Every second of it felt cheap and at times unsafe. You are better off traveling with VietJet rather them.

Brownie Point - they have the worst ground staff ever and don’t hesitate disrespecting you. There was this one instance where they refused me service at Da Nang airport.

I will say they got us from point A to point B but my god was it a hassle. From having to go back and forth with the customer service agent on how our bags were “oversized” to have to run back and forth from the counter to the customer service was frustrating. For the money I paid for my “oversized” bag I might as well have just booked on a different airline. Yeah they tickets are cheap but they get you with every other fee. The only reason they get two stars is because we left on time.

I booked a flight with Vietravel a day before, from HCMC to Hanoi. Everything went well. Check in of bags etc starts exactly 2hrs before the flight, so not earlier but was ok.

Had a delay of 30mins, not communicated by the airline, however price of tickets is fair.

When i booked my flight with Vietravel i was a bit worried after reading reviews. Then i realised people only come to trust pilot to complain. So i decided to come back and say how faultless the flight was. Lovely staff. Easy online check in. Make sure you check which terminal at Ho Chi Minh you fly from. Luckily my taxi driver knew to take me to Terminal 3 the new one.

I flew with them from Phu Quoc to Saigon and it actually wasn't too bad. I was really prepared for the worst given the current rating, but I was determined this trip to try any other operators than Vietjet.

The only bit that was terrible was the Check-In was a total free for all, 5 lines of people being funnelled into 3 desks, and they seemed to be fast tracking a large group in yellow caps. I was in position when the desks opened yet I was stood there about 50 minutes, and probably one of the last guests to be checked in! Had it not been for this, could have been a rare 5 star review for this airline.

The flight itself, plane looked beat up on the outside with mish mash of different yellow shaded panels, on the inside it seemed very new.

The flight took off exactly on time and landed 10 minutes early!

Something to bear in mind, at the time of writing they have only 3 planes in their fleet, covering a myriad of routes between Hanoi, Da Nang, Saigon and Phu Quoc, I guess a lot of the delays stem from the same plane covering a few different routes over the course of a day.

I had a booking with Vietravel Airlines from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City on October 16 . My flight was changed from 10:50 AM to 11:55 PM without my consent or any valid reason.
I have an international flight to Morocco at 7:00 PM from Ho Chi Minh City, which costs €1,200, and this schedule change makes it impossible for me to catch it.
I contacted Vietravel Airlines several times, but they have not replied for more than 6 hours. This is completely unacceptable.
If the airline does not rebook me on the 08:45 AM flight or compensate me for all damages, I will file an official complaint with the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and consumer protection agencies for violation of passenger rights.
This experience has been extremely stressful and unprofessional.

Leg room is for people under 3ft. Do not sit in row 24, even smaller than the rest. Only travel if you are a dwarf. They give you smaller leg room and expect you to help people as it's emergency seating. Rubbish.

I recieved an advice from Vietravel Airline 3 days before my flight departure that they had resceduled my flight from Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang to the next day. I was meeting friends in Da Nang and joining a tour. I advised their customer services that this was not acceptable and requested a full refund. They refused which left me no other choice
Than to book another flight at a cost to me of $260

Very worst. Everybody please do not chosse this flight

No vueles en vietnam con esta aerolínea. Por llevar una mochila me cobraron más que el valor del billete. Volar con vietjet. Valen lo mismo y al final pagas el doble.
