I booked a flight with Vietravel Airlines with a fair amount of trepidation after reading many negative reviews online. I am so happy to report that my experience was the complete opposite and absolutely flawless from start to finish.

We arrived at Da Nang Airport two hours before our flight, expecting long lines, but the queue moved very quickly. The ground staff were efficient and, much to my surprise, very friendly and helpful during check-in.

Boarding was announced 45 minutes before departure and was so well organized that all passengers were on board a full 20 minutes before we were due to take off.

Once onboard, I was impressed. For a low-cost carrier, the legroom was more than decent and the aircraft felt new and very clean. The onboard food and drink prices were incredibly reasonable.

The most important boxes were ticked: we pushed back exactly on time and landed in Ho Chi Minh City right on schedule. For a fare of just $50 one-way, which included a 23kg checked bag, the value is unbeatable.

Don't be put off by the negative reviews. My experience proves they are clearly getting things right. I would not hesitate to fly with Vietravel Airlines again

Terrible experience. Travelling around the world for 40 years. Worst airline ever. We arrived at danang airport early and went to our assigned gate with plenty of time to spare. At the gate the correct flight was displayed. We were waiting at gate 4 and it was changed to gate 2 just down stairs but without anyone ever coming and telling us. Vietravel airlines are usually late so we weren't alarmed. No one came to gate 4 directly above gate 2 to tell us that departure was happening 10 yards below our feet. We missed the plane and at the airport vietravel desk the staff were hopeless, rude and very unhelpful. Told us we could leave the next day if we paid for more tickets. They laughed like they'd just got three million Viet D tip. DON'T FLY VIETRAVEL. THEY COST US D5,000,000 in Tickets to and hotels in Ho Chi Minh... If I could give minus stars I would.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I booked return tickets from Hanoi to Da Nang, but the airline cancelled my flights twice on the same day and rebooked me onto a date after my scheduled return flight. How does that even make sense? Because of this, I had no choice but to purchase new tickets with another airline for both legs of the trip. It completely ruined my plans and cost me significantly more. Worst airline experience I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your money. avoid them, they feel like scammers.

Is THE WORST airline i have EVER FLOWN, fellow travellers, think twice about booking this airline, 3hrs late! 1 check-in counter in operation when they clearly stated 3 were operating, then the noise & shudder of the aircraft was deafening on take off & landing!
I suggested to other travellers they bought this plane from ebay.com
And I'm not kidding, never again!
Oh, and what apology! May be the Vietnamese Government should step in?

Less than 1* worst 'airline' ever. Do they even fly planes? We turned up at airport like other people say, like a ghost town. No staff at check in, or ticket desk, or anywhere to be found. Other unlucky passengers also in same predicament. Couldn't check in online as it said 'system error' and then 40 min before scheduled flight get an email informing of flight change to 2 days later! Impossible to get anyone on the phone or to reply to an email. Used booking.com and shocked they would allow this type of fraud to continue.

When I checked in online, I was automatically assigned seat 1F. Not only was my flight delayed by an hour—causing me to miss the last bus to my destination—but my seat was also changed. Although it was only moved by one row, the change made my experience much worse during the flight. On top of that, I was told that I needed to pay an extra fee to sit in my originally assigned seat. If payment is required, why was I assigned that seat in the first place only to be asked for more money later?

Über 20 Std Verspätung. Keine Kommunikation. Rückflug wurde dann auch seitens der Airline storniert. Refund muss auch nochmal extra beantragt werden. Schlechteste Airline überhaupt!!!

Vietnamese airline to avoid at all costs: today, at 2:10 p.m., we were refused boarding on a domestic flight scheduled for 2:45 p.m. (we arrived at the airport at 11:15 a.m.) on the pretext that the 2nd and 3rd first names of my partner and my two children were not on the reservation, telling us that the border police would refuse us boarding. Contact made with the police, their manager confirmed the rule in this matter while specifying that the police would not, however, exceptionally oppose our boarding provided that Vietravel did not oppose it. After two hours of procrastination, during which we were asked to wait for the decision of the company manager, whom we had never seen, we were firmly refused by the very unsympathetic agent who sent me, my partner, and my two children, aged 7 and 10, without any further explanation. I have his photo available to the company's management. Is this a strategy of the company to resell our tickets to last-minute travelers or a posture of the agent at the company desk, dissatisfied at not having been paid a sum of money to resolve this point of detail? I dare not believe it, given the values ​​of respect and honesty upheld by the Vietnamese people. I remain at the disposal of the Vietravel management to discuss this incident, which is as incomprehensible as the behavior of this agent.

Nous avons du payer un bagage cabine 39$ alors qu'il ne pesait que 10kg. Aucune information à ce sujet sur le site web de la compagnie. À éviter complètement. Il t'attire avec un bas prix des billets et ensuite te font payer les "extras" rendu au check-in. Terrible.

Oh gosh, this company is truly a scam. We booked flight tickets, but the system automatically changed the date from April to September twice. We had to fix it before continuing to fill out the information. Then, when we used a US credit card to pay, the payment failed twice. We had to re-enter the information, and the date changed to September again. We adjusted it once more. Only when we used a domestic (Vietnamese) credit card did the payment go through, but the confirmation still showed September.

We immediately called to request a cancellation or date adjustment. They claimed we had no evidence of the date changes (demanding a screen recording—who records their screen while booking flight tickets?). They refused to cancel and demanded an exorbitant fee to change the booking date.
Now we understand why they rejected the US credit card payments: they likely wanted us to use a Vietnamese credit card, which offers less protection for customers when reporting scams like this.

Abbiamo prenotato tramite Booking.com e il volo è stato anticipato dall 19.15 alle 6.20 del mattino senza avvisarci. L'abbiamo scoperto quando abbiamo cercato di fare il check in e il volo era già partito.
Ci è stata data la colpa a noi di non aver risposto alle mail mai arrivate.
Abbiamo ri-prenotato un altro volo ed è ricomparso quello dell 19.10 per poi essere posticipato alle 20.30. Quindi abbiamo dovuto fare 2 prenotazioni e 0 assistenza... tutti scaricano la colpa a qualcun altro. Alla richiesta di avere almeno un voucher o un upgrade in business mi è stato sottoposto il conto per il cambio classe.
Nei prossimi giorni abbiamo un altro volo con questa pessima compagnia e ci è già stato cambiato l'orario di partenza di più di 5 ore. È impossibile organizzare un viaggio così! Non prenotate o passerete più tempo in aeroporto e a cercare di capire come riorganizzazionvi che a godervi la vacanza.

No bad words can express my disappointment with Vietravel Airlines. Fix your system if you’re dreaming of becoming a world class airlines. I’m hoping that someday all we can read are good reviews.

Our booked flight with Vietravel Airlines flight# VU302 (from Phu Quoc airport to TSN airport) cheduled for 19:10 4/15/2025 (departure time) with (scheduled) boarding time at 18:30 at Gate 5. We (me and my wife) arrived at Phu Quoc airport early (around 17:00), went through security check point successfully, then came to Gate 5 waiting. Around 18:30 no airport/airline staff was seen at Gate 5. We, among with may other passengers, kept on waiting. No words on PA, no notices on big-screen monitor are heard/seen. Finally suddenly around 19:35 an on-screen notice popped up saying "flight# VU302 departing for HCM city has been delayed due to plane arriving late, and check-in gate has been switched to Gate 2". Why flight# VU302 arriving late? Why the PQ airport or Vietravel Airlines couldn't notify the passengers via PA and or big-screen officially properly timely for such a long delay? Flight# VU302 ended up departuring at 20:45 and arrived TSN airport at 21:30 4/15/2025. If I could, zero star is what I would rate this airlines. First time me and my wife flight with Vietravel Airlines and it was a HORRIBLE experience. I'll make sure that I avoid this very-first-travel-airlines-in-Vietnam next time.

👎👎👎 Extremely disappointed with Vietravel Airlines.
Our flight was rescheduled nearly 12 hours earlier without proper notice. Only one passenger received the email, no SMS or call, and even worse, I was still able to buy checked baggage a day before via their hotline without being informed of the change.
When we contacted customer support, they ignored key facts, denied responsibility, and refused a refund, despite clear system failures. This caused major disruption, financial loss, and stress for our whole group.
Be careful when booking with them — poor communication, no accountability, and disappointing service. 👎👎👎

Verspätung von über 14 Stunden ohne Antwort auf Emails, keinerlei Unterstützung. Flug wurde im Vorfeld mehrfach verschoben, auch hier keinerlei Antwort auf Emails.

Do not use this airline!!!! AVOID!!!! Read all the reviews they are all true! I wish I had before I booked!!!
Been sat waiting for over 8hrs for a 1hr flight. Delayed twice. No explanation. No compensation. No customer service. Ruined our ongoing trip. The airline should be stopped from operating. Worst airline I’ve ever had the misfortune to fly with. Not even an email to tell me it had been delayed. Nothing. Absolute joke!!!

My flight is ereased, noone tell us , no information, no help desk, no mail for inform us before.The desk of the company like desert.... We just arrive at the airport and know that our flight not exist anymore. Loose a lot of time and money.The people at the airport say this company have a lot of problem anytime.
We try to do check in online the day before and simply they say not possible to do it and try again later, not say the flight is erase so we can manage better the problem.DON'T FLIGHT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!

The airlines have rescheduled my flight which is delayed by more than 12 hours and now they are not responding to my complaint as well when I asked for a refund. This is a pathetic airline and would not suggest to book ever. Airlines can respond to my complaint on to discuss and resolve the matter.

I just repeat what ALL people already wrote. This airline is A SCAM! DON’T BOOK IT!!!!! Authorities have to stop this operation IMMEDIATELY!
At the information desk at the airport they were sooooo tired of answering the same questions regarding this TERRIBLE airline. AVOID AVOID
