Complete scam and total waste of time. I spent more time trying to get this company to do something than it would take to run ads myself.

Gave this company three tries, was passed around to different people in the organization with each one making new promises.

First employee FINALLY got ads setup after a lot of ghosting, only to leave a totally untargeted ad burning through thousands on ad spend for multiple weeks. Removed their permissions and they didn't even notice for two weeks. This confirms that they were not doing anything.

After which, decided to give them another chance with new ad videos. The ad videos were AI generated which I told them up front I did not want and would not pay 3K for an AI generated video.

After complaining, the company partially refunded ad spend (1/4 of the ad spend) and assigned a new person to handle my account. This is now over 2 months into the engagement. New videos were being made, and I was told they would be done the first week of July.

10 days go by without an update. The 2nd account lead had to leave "due to health reasons" (this wasn't true, because I reached out to this person separately).

Third employee now manages my account. Very responsive for the first week or so. Was unable to schedule meeting to launch ads because the calendar was booked for multiple weeks out. Ghosting again ensues, and I can't get responses from the company without multi-day gaps in communication.

Today I asked for my refund, will see what happens.

Paid the money, had 1 meeting, then they ceased all communication.
We have heard nothing for 2 weeks, no content provided, even after we told them we would be filing a charge back if we didn't hear from them.
Still nothing!

It is always challenging to determine if views are fake or real so believe this or nit, but please do your research and make the decision for yourself.

My experience with TokMedia has been a complete disaster from the beginning. We ageeed that my niche was good, but we needed to optimize my site so I fell for it and paid them $4k.

Soon after, they told me that we needed to move from WordPress to Shopify but that my site was too big so they recommended that we launch a completely new site.

Now, 4 months after I signed up, I have invested close to $5k and, over the past 30 days, they have generated 2 sales totaling less than $30. They claim that I just have not invested enough time or money. The problem is that they fired the first account manager and then did not take the necessary steps to move forward with our agreement. In fact, it took 2 weeks for me to prove that I had already paid to have the site optimized after they tried to charge me again. Very poor communication from the beginning.

BTW, my other site is doing well without TokMedia. Now I have a challenging decision to make. Do I continue to invest or do I take it as a lesson learned and move on. Unfortunately neither is desirable. And now, with the negative review, I would say it will probably get worse, but not sure that it can be worse than averaging less than $1/day in gross sales.

BTW, there is no way to leave feedback on their social media posts since they have turned off comments. That should tell you something.

This agency rocks! The team’s communication is timely but also super helpful when I have any questions or concerns.

Got scammed. They send you on a wild goose chase looking for them on a certain app called Slack. It's a loop.

Vincent and TokMedia are extremely fast, resourceful and great at what they do!

I was struggling selling my product on TikTok Shop so I finally decided to get help. I saw the ad from Tokmedia and went through with it. I started working with Will and after 3 weeks the changes he advised me to make started to get me some substantial results, so I decided to move onto the main plan where they do everything for me and now it’s just pretty much running on autopilot.
Looking to scale to new products now.
Def recommend if you’re looking to pivot into an aggressive solution… I also value communication which they’ve never disappointed.

They don't listen to customer's needs. I told them many times that I cannot have the customer filling out a form, they need to be sent to my website, and after a ton of back and forth, they still created the videos with the script being to fill out the form.

The first iteration of the script was terrible too, having several problems that clearly did not define my business correctly.

If you don't listen you can't help me.

I really enjoyed my experience as a consulting client. From my initial consultation with Jonah, to the prompt attention I received from Kyle over a communication matter, to finally working with Kate, Tokmedia was wonderful!

Kate listened to my goals, and gave me great tips and tricks to improve the consistency of my content and allow me to grow my account organically. I have a new toolbox full of resources in terms of apps, techniques, hooks, scripts, and content ideas. I can only imagine how much more I would have received as a full client! (As I want my business to remain part time, the consulting option was perfect for me.)

I will say, as a client and business owner, you have to be willing to learn new things. This company was helpful, but the knowledge I gained was indispensable. I'm using tools to make content that I never knew about! It was challenging, and I gained about 2,000 followers in 1.5 months, which is a lot for my little business! With Kate's encouragement, I started new services, a new shop, and a newly formatted page! I am extremely grateful.

If I ever find myself in a lull or wanting to grow my business into a full time venture, I will definitely connect with this company again.

I encourage anyone reading this review to read the many other 1-star reviews, because you are going to see the same pattern. Don't let it happen to you.

Like most of you, I saw their ad on TikTok and I liked the pitch - they don't get paid unless they generate revenue for you. What's not to like about that? But it turns out there's one catch and it's a big one: They demand $3,000 upfront for out-of-pocket costs associated with (supposedly) hiring talent and producing your ads. This was big red flag #1, but the guy they had selling me on the call (I forget his name) was very slick and he had answers for everything. He also promised the moon in terms of revenue. I was reluctantly convinced to go ahead and pay them, idiot that I am. So I onboarded the first week of May 2024.

Here's where I wish I had done more research and seen all of these 1-star reviews. Why is everybody asked to pay the same $3,000 amount upfront? Is every business the same as every other business? Of course not. So why should the money they demand upfront from every business be the same? It seems very shady to me. Personally, I think it's just a nice round number that they've decided is a "sweet spot" - enough to justify their time and energy pitching you and answering your (increasingly frustrated and angry) texts and messages for several weeks, but not so much that it scares everyone off at the start. If I had seen this $3,000 pattern before, and read all of these other 1-star reviews saying the same thing, then I would have walked away at that point and saved myself $3,000 and all this time and aggravation. Hopefully it doesn't happen to you.

So what happened next? They promised videos within 1-2 weeks. Two weeks passed and no videos. I reached out to them on a Slack channel they set up and was given a series of excuses that got increasingly comical over the next few weeks, to the point of "the dog ate my homework" type of thing. (I would also point out that the Slack channel was some kind of free trial that expires after 90 days or so - what kind of company uses free Slack trials for customers? Red flag #2). Return messages and updates were slow and sporadic from the start, I had to constantly chase them down for updates and information (big red flag #3). I should also add that during this entire time they never accepted my invite to the TikTok Business Center account that I set up, claiming that they had "too many pending invites from other clients" or some other excuse like that (big red flag #4).

All told, I waited patiently for TWO MONTHS for even a SINGLE VIDEO and I received absolutely nothing. I was told at some point that it was proving very difficult to find a pitch-person for my product. This despite the fact that A) they knew my product from the start, B) they claimed to have an expertise with similar products, and that the COO Ryan Burr would be personally involved from the start because this was his area of expertise (and I never heard from him once despite asking for him several times - red flag #5) and C) not once during their pitch and onboarding did they ever so much as hint that it might be difficult to find a pitch-person.

The junior person that had been assigned to my account named Cameron Venable told me not to worry, he had a "friend" who would shoot the video. Then the friend went on vacation. Then they had a video done but she was having trouble sending it. Then it would be a different video where she would only do a voice-over but not use her likeness. I demanded a refund at this point because it was clear they were incompetent at best.

I was then put in contact with Jacob Teed, the "Client Success Manager," who promised to speak with me. For the next 2 weeks I waited for Mr. Teed, who would repeatedly promise to contact me and then ignore me. I've waited another week, and I've been blown off yet again, so here I am. I realized that it's futile to try and get a refund from these guys since I can't even get a phone call, so I have both disputed the charge with my bank and filed a formal complaint with the FTC (reportfraud.ftc.gov)

I encourage anyone else who feels that they've been victimized to contact both their bank and the FTC, as I have done. These guys took my money and produced nothing but excuses and, ultimately, silence. If that happened to you, too, then don't take it sitting down. Incompetence is the BEST CASE scenario to describe these business practices, so in the worst case it could be something much more nefarious that regulatory agencies or even law enforcement should become aware of. I strongly suggest that you avoid TokMedia.
