Unreliable cleaners
Cleaner Cicera cancelled the first session 30 minutes before she was due to arrive and provided no apology.
Customer services were very helpful and refunded me immediately but they need to source some better cleaners (and fire the ones which are unreliable).

I tried two cleaners
I tried two cleaners - first was a lovely woman but NEVER came on time ever we are talking over 30 to 40 minutes late without notification. The second changed bookings and then failed to turn up. For what it’s worth customer services were great! Just wish the cleaners had been reliable

Whilst we thoroughly vet all cleaners before activating their accounts on the platform we do seek and rely upon customer feedback to continually monitor performance and ensure good service standards.
Occasionally, sessions need to be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. However, professionals who are unreliable or do not meet standards are routinely deactivated from the platform.
It is very unfortunate that you had two bookings that did not work out. We have reviewed the circumstances with the cleaners and taken appropriate actions.

Cancels at short notice
Takes the booking and credit card information but then cancels at short notice a few hours before booking. Is not able to provide alternatives but instead has a bad attitude on the phone.
Clearly, they do not have enough professionals working for them which is fine but then be honest about it and try to make it work for your clients.
About your response, you did not send three options for the same day and time. This simply is not true.

Whilst the vast majority of new bookings on our platform are confirmed quickly and run smoothly, your chosen professional was no longer available for your booking due to unforeseen circumstances. We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
We emailed you three cleaner profiles as replacement options including for the exact same day and time as the original booking as well as options for alternative times on the same day. In response you requested that your account be cancelled.
We monitor the quality of customer service calls closely to ensure standards are maintained. We are sorry that you felt that we were unhelpful over the phone. We have discussed this matter with the agent concerned.
We work hard to ensure that all bookings run as smoothly as possible but occasionally things do go wrong. In these circumstances, we offer the best alternatives available to resolve the matter.

Nice to work with a good business
I found TidyChoice online when looking for a new cleaner and am really happy with them. They have all kinds of notifications for reminders, everything is done online on a really quick and slick website and the quality of cleaners we have had is excellent. They do background checks and encourage personal reviews of cleaners as well so you can see the experience. They are comparatively cheap as well - really good service and highly recommend.

I used 3 cleaners through TidyChoice and unfortunately I found the cleaners to be unreliable. The last cleaner went missing with the house key which was never returned and the company made no effort to get the key from the cleaner. After a number of phone calls and no help, I had to foot the bill to get the locks changed.
Would I use them again. No.
I doubt I will win the £30 for giving my honest review, but I would rather be honest to save someone else the hassle I went through.
Update further to the comment posted by TidyChoice. I am glad you are taking on board that which I have said in my review, and I am glad you finally saw that it was inappropriate for the key to the property to be sent sent by post to the property by the cleaner. Having referred to my emails, I see that you agreed to ask the cleaner not to send the key by post. My belief was and still is that if the post was intercepted then the key corresponded to the address of which it was being posted to. Although TidyChoice said they do not get involved with the return of the keys they did try and contact the cleaner who appeared to me, to have stopped communicating with TidyChoice also. Hence my giving up as the cleaner was not answering calls or texts to make arrangements for the collection of my key and if she decided to send the key by post , which she did not do thankfully, would have been a security risk. Given the unpredictability of that cleaner, my decision to quickly and at my own cost, have the lock to the house changed was for the security of the property and tenants occupying.
Thankfully, the company I am using now for my tenanted property portfolio are very professional and take very seriously lateness, no shows, handling of keys and the professionalism of their cleaners. So it all worked out well for me in the end. The new company now service all my tenanted properties once a week and I am delighted with them.
I gave TidyChoice a good go, but I honestly would not instruct them again. Just being honest!

We have reviewed your case thoroughly. You made 3 bookings through TidyChoice for a property that we understand is let to tenants.
The first booking was fortnightly with Vincent from 17 January 2017 until 28 March 2017. The booking lasted 6 sessions before being cancelled by the customer.
The second booking was fortnightly with Neringa from 11 April 2017 until 21 May 2018. A total of 28 sessions took place before Neringa was unfortunately unable to continue the booking.
The third booking was fortnightly with Carly from 4 June 2018 until 28 November 2018 and lasted for 13 sessions. On 4 June 2018, the customer emailed to say “Thank you very much for recommending Carly. She did a great job today and a really lovely lady.” On 27 November 2018 the customer requested a replacement cleaner because Carly rescheduled a session. Despite emailing to say that “I am happy to continue with that booking”, the customer cancelled the booking.
Carly offered to return keys to the letterbox. This was not acceptable to the customer who insisted on being handed the keys in person. TidyChoice gave regular updates to the customer regarding the keys at 15.42 on Thursday 27 December 2018; 14.59, 15.22, 17.08 and 19.15 on Friday 28 December 2018; 16.30 and 16.58 on Monday 31 December 2018, and at 12.12 on Wednesday 2 January 2019. As no further correspondence was received from the customer, TidyChoice reasonably concluded that the keys had been returned and the matter resolved.
We are sorry that you felt that you had a bad experience with TidyChoice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Easy to book and easy communicate with TidyChoice where as I had no luck with a cleaner from other websites. My cleaner Helena is very good and very professional. Would definitely recommend TidyChoice for those looking for a cleaner!

Booking, customer and housekeeper retention rates are key metrics that we monitor closely. Housekeeper retention rates drive customer satisfaction and retention, and ultimately, our profitability.
Our business model allows housekeepers to choose their own area, hours and rates. In addition, independent housekeepers on our platform generally earn more than they would with traditional or online agencies. For these reasons, we believe that that our housekeeper retention rates are amongst the best in the sector.
Like the hospitality and construction sectors, the domestic cleaning market is highly reliant on overseas workers, particularly from Eastern Europe. Geo-political and economic factors such as Brexit or Sterling’s depreciation against the Euro can impact these sectors.
According to latest report from the Office for National Statistics, an estimated 226,000 moved to the UK than left for the year ending March 2019 (612,000 people immigrated and 385,000 people emigrated). This is down 12 per cent from prior period driven by the lowest level of EU migrants in six years.
EU immigration rose to peak in the year ending June 2016 and has continued to fall since then. It is now at its lowest level since 2013. The decrease is mainly due to a fall in immigrants coming to the UK for work, which is now less than half the level it was at its peak. For Central and Eastern European countries, so called EU8 citizens, an estimated 7,000 fewer arrived than left.
Earlier this year, we conducted our own survey to understand housekeeper intentions with respect to Brexit. Eastern Europeans were the most sensitive to Brexit outcomes. We found that 54% of eastern European respondents said that they would leave the UK in the event of an economic downturn caused by a no-deal Brexit.
In 2019, we have experienced a higher level of housekeeper attrition compared to prior year. This is due to housekeepers returning to their home countries or leaving the cleaning sector completely. We believe that this trend is impacting the cleaning sector as a whole with traditional agents being disproportionately impacted.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will continue to work hard to maintain the best retention rates in the sector.
