Easy to order - simple to use
Ordering process is quick and easy, delivery is prompt once funds have been loaded to the account and it's great that the cards aren't loaded with the funds until confirmation that they have been received is made.
The app is easy to use and being able to see at a glance the value of the card and the transactions on it, make it one of the better choice cards.

Moved to this card from one for all cards a couple of years ago, excellent service up to this year, ordered the Christmas cards and got no confirmation email to ask me to verify I had received the cards, had staff ringing me over Christmas to say the cards were not working!! my fault I presumed they had been loaded. Got more cards last week for summer break, got the email asking me to verify delivery but did not get confirmation that they had been loaded. Just rang them there and was told that they had been loaded asked her why I had not received the email of confirmation, she did not know and would mention it to her manager!! Told her I had checked spam and it did not go there!!! again no comment, just again I will mention it to manager!!! very poor customer service and no follow up. The cards are excellent once loaded I have no problem with them however their customer service and follow up is very poor in the last 2 years.

Just to clarify the process, once an order is confirmed, we always aim to have funds loaded by the end of the same working day. If confirmation comes in outside normal hours, the cards are loaded the next working day. Your recent order followed this timeline, and you received all other communication from us — so it’s unusual that the loading confirmation was the only email that didn’t come through.
As mentioned in our direct communication today, we’ve raised this internally to make sure there isn’t a wider issue and to ensure future orders aren’t affected. Your feedback is genuinely helpful in tightening up this part of the process.
We’re glad to hear the cards themselves have always worked perfectly once loaded, and we’re committed to making sure the communication around them is just as reliable.

Your transaction with Apple.com was declined because the merchant submitted the payment as a recurring charge, which gift cards cannot support. This is a merchant‑side setting and not something we can override. Your card is a Mastercard, but all prepaid gift cards have the same restriction when a merchant flags a transaction as recurring.
Our team responded promptly to your queries, provided the reason for the decline, and offered alternative ways to complete the purchase where possible.
We’re always available to help, and if you need further assistance, we’re happy to continue supporting you.
I was given a Swirl card by my employer…
I was given a Swirl card by my employer as a Christmas bonus. What I wasn't aware of was the maintenance fee that would be taken each month once the card was a year old. I feel this is a con to having one of these cards, and I would like to know exactly what a maintenance fee actually does? The money on this card should have been the same as any other prepaid card and as good as cash. My colleagues also found issues when trying to activate the card, having to use an app and not being able to use the cards in many places.
I definitely would not recommend anyone having or gifting a Swirl card

To clarify, the maintenance fee only applies 12 months after the card is initially loaded, and this is highlighted in the card’s terms and conditions. This fee is standard across most prepaid card products.
Regarding activation, the process is designed to be straightforward. While many customers choose to activate through the app, activation can also be completed via the web if someone prefers not to use the app or cannot access it.
The card itself is a Mastercard, so it can be used anywhere that accepts Mastercard, unless a merchant has their own restrictions in place.
Our support team is always available to help with any activation or usage issues, and we are currently reaching out directly to assist you. We’d really appreciate if you could respond so we can resolve this for you as quickly as possible.

I dislike that I can't transfer to my other bank accounts and that you can't transfer from 1 card to another Swirl card as I have a few cards with small amounts on them and can't use them. Also I want to delete old card from my account.

If the cards you are referring to are gift cards, then no — funds cannot be transferred out to a bank account. Gift card balances must be spent using the card itself.
If you would like old cards removed from your account, our Support Team can absolutely assist with that. We’ve already reached out directly for a bit more information so we can help you get this sorted.
The swirl card won't activate and you will lose your money
The swirl card won't activate and you can't use the card. when you contact customer support it just connects to an AI bot that gets stuck in a loop saying "try activate it again".
Customer support wont connect to a person.
