Warning: DO NOT BUY a CTEK Lithium XS battery charger as it will damage your expensive LiFePO4 battery. It will overcharge the cells and damage the BMS.

You will not get any help from CTEK Technical Support. They will tell you to return the charger and then ignore further emails from you.

This charger destroyed my expensive 50 Ah 12 Volt LiFePO4 battery after a single charge and then destroyed the replacement battery sent to me (again during it's first charge).

I purchased this charger to augment charging of a battery when my solar system wasn't charging fast enough during winter. After using the charger once, I noticed the battery was flat after a week of no use whilst it was connected to my solar powered controller. After checking the solar system, it appeared that the battery was faulty (not accepting a charge from the solar system or from this XS charger), Renogy were great and sent me a replacement battery free of charge.

I checked the no-load voltage when I received the new replacement and charged it again using the CTEK charger. The voltage had been rising nicely up to 13.8 volts. After about 8 hrs I noticed the terminal voltage fell away sharply to lower than when I started. My DVM indicated the charger was making the voltage at the battery terminals pulse to 13.8 volts and drop to 13.0 volts, so I disconnected and reconnected the CTEK XS charger and it immediately indicated the battery was now faulty (just like the original battery). Charger cycled through steps 1 to 4 continuously.

I had videoed the testing which I sent to CTEK and they simply ignored me and didn't reply to me again.

Smarter Chargers have refunded the cost of the charger to me. However I really want to emphasize that this CTEK Lithium XS charger WILL damage your battery and could possibly be dangerous. And CTEK Support is nonexistent.
