We went to the Galapagos and Rapa Nui Islands. All transportation, guides and hotels were excellent. The ship we were on in the Galapagos Islands had excellent guides and good food. As a vegan, I had plenty of choices for all meals.
I recommend South American Vacations.

Alan and Martha helped us craft a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Quito and the Galapagos Islands. They patiently worked with us to find the right itinerary, small-ship experience, and even found us the best dates between seasons that saved us close to a thousand dollars each. Every financial transaction was professional. We took their advice that in such a bucket-list vacation IT IS BEST TO BUY TRAVEL INSURANCE--the extra expense is completely worth it since neither they nor the operators in Ecuador have any control over contingencies or refunds. Before the trip they send a detailed step-by-step itinerary which helps you in everything from packing to what to expect at every step of the way. The trip itself was absolutely flawless since they chose the best operator in Ecuador. For every future trip to South America, we will work with SA Vacations. Go Galapagos!

We traveled to the Galapagos/Ecuador with SaVa this October, and this was our second time using the company (having previously traveled to Peru/Machu Picchu in ~2016), and we would absolutely use them again. The guides who were arranged for us were top notch, and we had completely smooth travels. They are very willing to help customize tours to the things you want to do, so if something isn't fitting your interest in the typical itinerary, it can always be swapped out. I am constantly in search of tour companies that are willing to be flexible, and SaVa is great for it!

We would use them again in a heartbeat!

The trip SA vacations planned for us was fantastic. They helped us plan a 2 week trip to Chile, Argentina and Patagonia. They were great to work with and reworked our itinerary multiple times. Every step of the way we had great tours and our transportation companies were always on time. It was a fabulous trip and anytime we were worried or concerned about our plans, they were always easy to reach.

We travel a lot and on our bucket list were the Galapagos, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca. Picked SAVacations out of the blue and couldn't have been more pleased. Alan and Martha were terrific. Everything was outstanding: guides, accommodations, experiences. This will not be our last trip using SAVacations. Would recommend this tour company to anyone interested in South America.

We booked our whole itinerary in Ecuador through South America Vacations (SAV). We were a group of 3 who were mainly interested in visiting Galapagos Islands. SAV managed all our questions and concerns in a timely manner, and we are now glad to say that following their advice was the right decision. They suggested arriving to Guayaquil to avoid high altitude sickness, which worked very well to one of my friends who usually get sick due to that reason. SAV also suggested the right cruiseship for our needs and we can’t be happier with The Legend. It is a beautiful and comfortable ship, and the on-board service is superior and personalized. They also arranged city tour in Quito on our way back. They took care of everything and we didn’t worry about anything else. About the destination, Galapagos is a peaceful place (no internet!) but at the same time it is full of activities around nature like hiking, snorkeling, or observing animals. SAV made our trip the best experience for us. We recommend them.

I had a wonderful experience traveling with them to Ecuador, where they helped me with tours and tips in Guayaquil, Galápagos Islands, and Quito.
I recommend them as they provide all the details we need to have a better experience as well as they organize the plan according to all the needs you ask for.

Review: Martha Cohen provided my wife and me with a spectacular getaway vacation to the Galapagos and Chile! Thanks to Martha's intimate knowledge of Ecuador and Chile's entry requirements, we were prepared ahead of time with all the necessary documents required to breeze through customs in both countries. After a breath-taking cruise of the Galapagos and its spectacular assortment of rare species, we traveled to Santiago, where we were picked up at the airport by our guide and driver. They proceeded to be our transportation and guide during the next week to multiple stops at vineyards, Andes ski areas and astonishing mountain top dams and lakes. Every airport arrival in every country included a person greeting us as we entered the baggage claim, who then escorted us to our hotels. We travel a lot, and this was our most stressless vacation yet, due to Martha's careful planning and excellent choices of sights we were able to witness. We will be using South American Vacations for every trip we make to South America!

I enjoyed my trip with SA vacations , my setup to Ecaudor and Peru, was exceptional. I am looking forward to my next trip in February 2023.

The communication from the time of organization of our tailor-made vacation to Peru, Rio and Iguazu Falls to sudden change in itinerary due to a flight cancellation was second to none. They helped us reorganize the itinerary because of flight cancellation from London by flight operator. The tour operators used by the agent at the locations we visited in Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Rio de Janeiro, and Iguazu Falls were superb. We live in London and was a bit apprehensive about using an agent in USA, but I can honestly say we would strongly recommend South American Vacations without any reservations. We will definitely be using them again.

South American Vacations was amazing! We planned our vacation before the pandemic and had to cancel and re-book several times before we were finally able to take our vacation. We changed our plans and added extra days. We added extra stops. Every time they were so gracious and easy to work with. Even at the last minute we wanted to add the Nazca Lines to our Peru trip and add an extra day. They got us a terrific deal, a wonderful hotel, and we had guides and translators meet us at every airport, help us get on our flights, and make sure everything went smoothly. I cannot recommend anyone who could provide better service! They provided our itinerary on-line complete with contact information in case anything went wrong (like one flight was delayed). They made our vacation everything we dreamed it would be! Now we will have wonderful memories forever!

I would never travel with this company. Beware of giving them a deposit - you won’t get it back! They will tell you to ask your credit card company even if Covid cases soar and you cancel well in advance. Stay away and use a company that is more reliable and reasonable.

The pandemic worsened and it was clear we were not going to travel at that time.
We cancelled months in advance and the trip would not refund any of our deposit. I have no confidence in this tour operator. The customer service was awful
Had we received even a partial refund we may have considered using them next time

By far the worst customer service and company. I would never ever use this company to book any vacation. Still waiting for my deposit to be returned as we cancelled months ago.

We'd like to commend the services provided by Martha Cohen of South American Vacations. We booked with her a 7 day tour of Santiago/Easter Island, Chile. The timing happened to be the start of coronavirus in South America. She provided tremendous help to us in amending the booking of flights, hotels and pickup/drop off services during this unpredictable period. We are grateful for her services and support so we could leave Easter Island and Santiago and returned home. We would recommend her services to whoever needs to travel to South America.

Our hotels were all excellent and in some cases unique. Guides were knowledgeable, on time, helpful and personable. Vans were clean and comfortable, and the drivers very good. The trip went like clockwork. The itinerary was inclusive, and mostly fast paced. Still found some time to relax, usually in beautiful settings. There were several “surprises” which were amazing. We were very pleased with the whole trip. Highly recommend SA Vacations!

We had a great time on our recent trip to Costa Rica. Everything was perfectly planned by South American Vacations! All of our accommodations were very nice and comfortable, transportation was reliable and on time, and all the excursions we participated in filled the time without being exhausting. We look forward to booking our next trip with you!

I can not say enough about how wonderful this 2 week adventure was! SA Vacations were Fantastic! Both in the planning and executing of this trip, Alan and Martha were extremely professional and handled all aspects of this itinerary without any glitches. All airport transfers , hotel picks, tour companies in each city were punctual and informative. A memorable trip Indeed!
