Richmond Motor Group - Skoda Southampton Omdömen 

Following on from my previous review, I was asked to email the customer service team to speak about it further. I emailed on the 12th January 2026 and had no reply after a week, so emailed again on the 19th January to follow up and have still not had a reply. All of this just goes to show that they really do not care about their aftersales whatsoever. If I had sent an email with an interest about buying a car, I'm sure I would have had a reply straight away. I'm pretty sure the only 5 star reviews on here are the ones that people were heavily encouraged to do whilst sitting in the show room.

I saw my Skoda Superb on line at Richmond Skoda Southampton. Living around 100 miles from the garage it was difficult to see the car in advance so I agreed a price including for my part exchange over the phone a subject to me viewing and liking the car and paying a returnable deposit so I knew the car was reserved and if I liked it I'd only need to make one visit to buy and drop off my old car. I did like the car and went ahead with the purchase. Ben, the salesman was professional and friendly throughout the whole process, providing the information I needed and generally made buying the car a pleasurable experience. Even for the test drive I was just given the keys and allowed to go off on my own, leaving my part x with them. That was very impressive as I could evaluate the new car without feeling any obligation or pressure. Top marks to Ben and the team at the garage.

The team at Southampton really bent over backwards to help and find me the deal I was after.
I want to say a huge thank you to Sam who was very patient, set aside a whole afternoon for me and ensured I had a comfortable experience.
I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and have been pleasantly surprised with my new car based on my budget.

I cannot praise Ben enough for the service he provided. He is an absolute star! I have been a lifelong Skoda owner (20 years) but some recent negative experiences with other dealerships (sales and servicing) left me questioning my loyalty. I popped into the Sales dept when waiting for my MOT and explained to Ben that I felt trapped with the car I had and didn't feel the finances would work for me to get something new/better. Ben listened, and actively listened - to the issues I had and to the spec of the car I really wanted. It was a tall order - and he pulled it off! Ben has found me a far better car than I expected to have, at a cost that works for me. He wasn't pushy, he was genuine, funny and personable and more dealerships need a Ben!! Even during the handover he took time to go through the car - this has never happened before so I have never really understood all the different features, now I do. His enthusiasm for the whole journey and the car he found matched mine and that made this whole experience fun, when I was initially despairing! Mention has to go to everyone else in the dealership - I probably encountered 4/5 others in the 3 visits and each person made me feel like a valued customer, and an individual - and also shared the enthusiasm for the car. Botley - you have regained my loyalty and should be proud of the team you have!

Our sales executive Tomasz Polak from Richmond skoda Botley was absolutely brilliant, he was so helpful at finding us just what we where looking for, he helped us decide on what would work better for are day to day use as well as what was best for are family needs. Couldn't fault a single thing such a kind team thanks again for our lovely car.

Joey was very responsive, able to answer all questions and proactive in making the process as easy as possible. He explained everything very clearly and really understood our priorities and it was clear he was very focused on meeting them.

Sam was incredible helpful helping me find the perfect car. I only went in for a test drive and they found me the perfect Karoq at a great price. I was very happy with the price and service I got and love my new car.

First time I have used a main dealer for a second hand car. Can't fault them, all staff very knowledgeable and a good choice of cars.

Great service, friendly and helpful staff

I booked some warranty work and was told that I could wait while the work was done. I asked the receptionist during the call if I could use their WiFi to work while I was there and was told that was fine. When I dropped the car off this morning I was told they need it for up to four days. I then had to walk a mile to the station and make a three hour trip by train to my home. The attitude of the manager and the service counter operative was very poor. I would never use this company again.

The salesman wasn't pushy ,just really helpful and informative.

When it comes to buying a new car there is so much competition between dealers/brands all wanting to win your business and sometimes that comes across by the salesman (which I felt elsewhere). However, when me and my girlfriend went into Skoda there was no pressure for us to buy with them which was very refreshing! Joey who we met took the time to get to know us before there was any talk of cars and options, and this really put us at ease as he is a genuinely nice guy who wants the best for the customer, whether that is with Skoda or elsewhere.

After I told him what I needed from my next car, for work and personal purposes he ran through the options there were at Skoda & the Richmond group, how some of them would work for me, and how some of them weren’t quite right which was very helpful when making my decision.

Once we worked out what the best option was, he was then very informative through the whole process, each step I fully understood and felt comfortable at each step as buying a brand new car is a very big decision but I was comfortable throughout due to the way Joey handled the transaction.

There were lots of additional products available too, which Adam discussed with me in great detail, what they are, the benefits and again I felt like what was best for me was put first rather than just pushing everything possible onto me which is done elsewhere. Once we worked out which was best, the process to get these in place was again informative and efficient throughout.

The service and experience I had at Skoda in Botley has been brilliant, and anyone who is looking for a brand new car, or a used car I’d highly recommend heading down to Skoda and seeing Joey.

Dealt with Ben and found him professional, polite and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend Richmond in general and Ben in particular. Extremely happy with my Kodiak.
