How to upset customers

If you are going to increase premiums by 115% tell the policy holder why. My circumstances haven't changed, I have not made a claim, so a premium increase of this magnitude must mean someone is having a laugh.

Ok if pay fully and have no accidents

Was ok with the company but if on budget and have to have on monthly you get high interest rate. Even if you have protected no claims and have one accident the insurance nearly doubles and i have full no claims and over 50.

Relatively straightforward but impersonal

I perceived that I was being influenced towards an online renewal process. It was relatively straightforward, but I still found the process rather a chore, possibly influenced by the impersonal nature of the transaction.

I have been with them for a few years I…

I have been with them for a few years I don't like changing particularly but my latest renewal is a 22% increase and there is no opportunity to reduce that cost they state it's the best price and it's a take it or leave it system so after getting the first 6 quotes £80 cheaper for identical cover I'm leaving it, no loyalty to their customers obviously. On top of that within minutes of indicating I would be leaving policy cancelled for renewal

We understand how frustrating it can be to see an increase, particularly as a long‑standing customer. Unfortunately, insurance premiums can fluctuate from year to year across all insurers due to changes in rating factors, underwriting criteria, and wider market conditions. This means there’s no guarantee that a renewal price will remain the same, even where there have been no changes to your policy or claims history.

Our approach is to provide what we believe to be our best available price upfront at renewal, based on the information we hold at the time. We don’t offer additional discounts through negotiation, as we aim to keep pricing consistent and fair for all customers.

We’re sorry that on this occasion we weren’t able to be more competitive for you and regret that you’ve decided to move your policy elsewhere. We do appreciate your time with us and thank you for sharing your experience.
