Good for RIAS…
Phoned RIAS after a couple of outrageous quotes from other companies and a hike in my existing company's quote!! Thankfully able to speak to a human being instead of everything being on line and RIAS were able to give me a quote for a basic home and contents policy with no frills or extras which I could accept

Long waiting times on phone
I am trying to notify Rias Home Insurance about a bereavement but I must have spent about 2 hours on the phone so far trying to get out through to a customer adviser.

Unfair increase in my premium
Unfair increase in my premium over what I was charged last year, But I am old and couldn't face the stress and worry of changing companies. Basically I have been punished for being a loyal customer.

Disliked the fact that some information on policy and not given to Rias by me, so far has been impossible to correct.
Update: RIAS responded almost immediately and I am now able to edit the incorrect information, so well done RIAS and thank you.

There are specific situations where you cannot make changes yourself online, for example, before cover has started, during a renewal cycle, if there is a pending claim, or for specific details such as claims or convictions, which cannot be amended via your online account.

Insuring a car with zero ncd
Bought a new car but decided to keep the old one as well. Transferred the 9 years ncd to the new car but that meant insuring the older one with zero ncd. Rias quoted unbelievably low price (in my opinion) with identical cover level and excess to the cover I had just swapped over with 9 years ncd. Not sure of the behind the scene maths but thanks anyway. Will definitely recommend.

No response, no proper contact details, glitchy website
We bought home insurance with boiler cover through Rias. Our boiler is not working and despite submitting a claim 3 days ago and they said we were covered on our policy we have heard nothing from the boiler recovery service. We have been given no contact details and no reference just a text that you can't reply to. Communication is poor to non existent. The only way we can get in touch is through submitting another response and the website is glitchy both on mobile phone and the computer. When we have tried to submit the details again it is saying there is no policy. Really unhelpful useless website. Avoid. I do not recommend and I would not renew.
