Awful communication and customer service - too many mistakes
Process was straightforward enough, except my first attempt was to use my guarantors card to pay on my behalf but in my name, which there was an option for, except it didn’t allow it which just defeated the purpose of having the option for it.
After my second attempt and changing the details to my card in my name everything was fine, confirmation email received.
Fast forward 3 days and I get an email saying I haven’t paid my reposit - panic sets in as I’m now questioning where all the money I have given has disappeared to as it’s left my bank account.
I double check on my end but everything was in order and I have screenshots and confirmation email, so I respond to the email saying I’ve already paid my reposit, to which I was met with an automated response saying they’d get back to me in 4 working hours which would’ve been 5pm. I didn’t hear back until the next day at lunchtime.
Then I was met with - and I quote: “ We can see a duplicate Reposit was created for your tenancy and therefore you were asked to pay for a second Reposit despite completing the original account. We have gone ahead and deactivated the duplicate Reposit therefore there should be no further confusion going forward.”
No apology whatsoever. Beyond concerning. Literally appalling customer service and communication due to a mistake on their behalf, hence this review.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that receiving the duplicate payment request caused concern, particularly after you had already received confirmation that your Reposit had been successfully completed.
We would, however, like to clarify that the duplicate Reposit was not created as a result of an error by Reposit. In this instance, the duplication occurred because the referencing company provided your details to us more than once, which resulted in a second Reposit being created.
Once you contacted us and brought this to our attention, we identified the duplication and deactivated the additional Reposit within 24 hours. We appreciate that receiving an automated email requesting payment for something you had already paid for was understandably concerning, and we’re sorry that our response did not initially acknowledge the inconvenience this caused you.
We’re pleased that the issue was resolved promptly and that there was no requirement for you to make a second payment. We will also take your feedback regarding the communication you received on board, as we understand how important clear and reassuring communication is when dealing with payment-related queries.
