My experience was good.
HOWEVER, as a tenant you are far better protected by paying a deposit and having it put in a deposit protection scheme. That way if your landlord is unreasonable it can be handled by the deposit protection scheme.
When you use reposit, you are paying a non refundable fee so your money is lost. And if the landlord makes unreasonable deductions you’ll have limited recourse unless you want to take it to court.
Reposit don’t protect you in anyway. It’s basically insurance for the landlord that you pay for.
Use this service if you can’t afford to pay a deposit but outside of that please just pay a normal deposit for the protections that come with it.

Reposit is designed to provide tenants with an alternative to paying a large refundable deposit upfront. The Reposit fee is non-refundable because it provides access to the service throughout the tenancy, rather than being a deposit that is held and potentially returned at the end.
We’d also like to clarify that tenants do have recourse if they disagree with charges raised at the end of a tenancy. Reposit provides a mediation process specifically designed to allow tenants and landlords/agents to resolve disputed charges, with the option for the matter to be referred for independent adjudication where appropriate. We do not simply accept a landlord’s proposed charges without giving tenants an opportunity to respond.
We understand that Reposit won’t be the right option for everyone, and tenants should consider both deposit options available to them before making a choice. Our aim is to provide an alternative that gives tenants greater flexibility while still providing a structured process for dealing with end-of-tenancy charges.
