I used the free 100GB to test the service. My impressions are positive. If needed, I'd happily upgrade to the paid version with more storage.

One of the best server backup solutions. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I have been using remote-backups.com for a short time now, and my initial experience has been very positive. My first backup and restore tests all ran smoothly without any issues.

What I like:

Cost & Scaling: The pricing is very fair, and the auto-scaling feature is a huge plus, as it handles storage adjustments automatically.

New Monitoring API: I noticed the announcement about the new Monitoring API in the news about two weeks ago. While it is distinct from the Reseller API (which I don't have access to), it’s a great addition. I’ve already used it to build a custom dashboard to keep track of my datastore metrics and storage levels.

Minor feedback:
As a non-reseller, the data available through the monitoring endpoint is a bit limited. It would be great to see specific information about individual backups included in the future. However, considering the API feature is brand new, it’s a solid start.

Overall, it's a professional and flexible solution for anyone needing scalable remote storage.

Update:
Following up on my previous review: I’m currently using the service specifically for Proxmox backups. While the platform supports various backup types, the quick response to my feedback regarding the Monitoring API was very helpful for my specific setup.

They recently implemented the missing backup endpoints, which allowed me to finalize my custom dashboard and alerting logic. For those interested, I’ve just shared my scripts as an open-source project on GitHub (search for "PBS_monitor" by maschkef).

It’s great to see a provider that actually acts on user feedback to improve their technical interface.

Great service, haven’t needed to restore from backup yet :) but thanks to validation I know that the data is there if I ever need it. Monitoring API is very useful to check the backups are being run. I’d recommend this setup if you run home assistant

I've used this service for several months now and signed up for the paid version after 30 days. Just switched over to the West Coast service point and it does run faster than against the overseas servers. Works just find with my on-prem PBS and also just started using the inmutable feature for another degree of protection. Highly recommend as a home-labber.

Saw this on reddit and was already looking to set something up for offsite backups. This was dead simple, I just created the proxmox backup server datastore using the details they generated for me and started backing up.

Great free tier, will have to upgrade once i continue with my continous use and creation of more VMs and more LXCs

Just started using it after some more free tier quotas got unlocked recently. It had some downtime at first, but now it's working as intended - for lifetime 100GB of free storage space, I'm not going to complain if there's downtime every now and then.

I was able to easily set up a sync job on my local PBS instance following their guide and I now have an off-site VM and CT backup solution for my modest homelab, complementing my already existing local backups and the cloud storage I use to sync configuration files and databases to.

The fact that it's a GDPR-compliant EU business is the cherry on top! I'm still encrypting my backups, though, as should anybody using this or any similar service.

I've been using it at home for a couple of months now and haven't had any problems—it works perfectly.

Just does what it says! Works wonders for me, have only one PVE host, and use their service (datastore) as my PBS host.
