RAC VFM
Have been with the RAC for a few years now and always find them competitive & VFM. Their website is easy to navigate and the "my RAC" gives great information, handy tips and opportunities to save & maybe win some vouchers etc.
Only issue was this year " automatic" renewal price was high but after talking with them price was reduced.

Really not happy
Really not happy. You changed the payment date without telling me. In the email confirmation stating I had reviewed, the date the money was to be taken was blank. I can provide this email. So I have been charged an additional £20 charge because I didn't have the funds available when the direct debit was taken. I will not be renewing next year, very bad level of service. This is compounded by the fact I spoke to a member of customer services about the problem online, and I have the transcripts

NEVER USING RAC INSURANCE AGAIN
NEVER USING RAC INSURANCE EVER AGAIN! They are in the process of going full online and we all know what that means, LITTLE TO NO HUMAN CONTACT ALL A. I BOT RUBBISH! And I've just had a taste of it, what a joke, what would have usually been resolved over the phone with a human in 3 minutes has taken over an hr so far with 3 different agents and 2 a. I. Bot barriers to get passed and 2 lots of insurance company gumf rammed into my ear rather that just connecting me to an agent and still can't and won't be resolved untill the following day because THE COMPUTER SAYS NO, exactly can't take payment gotta wait untill tomorrow as the system is pending, absolute joke minus 200 stars!

My worst experience of buying insurance.
My worst experience of buying car insurance in 50 years. RAC had queries about my husband's claims experience and after it was verified by a previous Insurer that the information given was correct they decided to charge me an additional £53 - the day before my last cover expired! What made matters worse was how difficult it was to contact them. This is only by live chat and I twice had chats terminated whilst I was typing a reply - and then you have to go back to the beginning.

When obtaining a quote, it's important that all claims information be disclosed at the point of sale so the correct premium can be calculated. If any claims information is found to be different during our validation checks, the premium may need to be recalculated.
