I was over the moon to receive an offer of contract from Pegasus Publishers. I had been lucky and received a few but chose Pegasus as I liked the look and feel of the company. Launch day came, the end of a process of lots of writing, editing and getting the book out there, and I received an email to say "happy launch day" but the problem was there was no book to launch. None of the retailers had it and it was nearly a month before they did. I had paid for a Kindle e-version too and had to chase them 17 months later as this still hadn't been done and I received no publicity or marketing support, so do not be fooled that you will. This has been a total waste of money and of my time. I honestly urge you to self-publish as you will have more enthusiasm than this team did. I have rechecked my contract and of course its all very vague about what marketing and publicity you will get, their discretion, and also when the electronic version will be published. Save your money, honestly.

I wrote my story over a period of about a year and then approached Pegasus Publishing to see what they thought. They liked my words and sent them to a proof-reader. Sadly, he had no idea about a military memoir so altered every number into English which was infuriating. Thankfully, a further proof-reader made sense of my document and made some sensible suggestions which were helpful. Throughout this period, I found it frustrating to be dealing with faceless people so I could not discuss anything. There seemed to me to be a long period of inactivity which was also frustrating. However, when Pegasus were ready to publish, suddenly matters progressed at a very fast rate. I was delighted to be dealing at last with a named person and, in very short order my book was printed - and it all looked very smart. I am delighted with end result and have no hesitation in recommending Pegasus to other authors.

Pegasus Publishers have always been prompt, kind and professional in their responses to me. They have been very informative and helpful all along my journey in publishing my first book. They have joined me in my excitement! I couldn't be happier!

Great experience so far! The production coordinator, Bobby, was helpful and responsive during the whole process. Now that I have my publication date, I am dealing with Lauren in publicity who has quickly replied to all my questions. I am now looking forward to receiving my book!

Pegasus were super speedy with the first few tasks regarding publishing my book, which I was really thankful for. At one point, a member of staff did leave the establishment that I’d been working with, which did require me (after a couple months of waiting) to chase up where my manuscript was in the process. Despite falling through the cracks, Pegasus did quickly get me back up and running, which I was pleasantly impressed by. Do be aware that the final proofing stage can be quite long - for those like myself who become a bit anxious, I found this a little stressful, and did bug the team monthly in regards to this, to which they promptly responded. I will say that the majority of staff that I dealt with were friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a ballpark in terms of timing, from my first email, until the email regarding a publishing date, it took nineteen months. I’m very excited to see my book in print, however, and I’m sure the process would have been a lot more difficult had I chosen to take the self publishing route.

If you are ever offered a contract from Pegasus either traditional or hybrid I would take it.
If I ever write a second book I will be submitting my work to them again.

The attention to detail was excellent. The communication was sometimes slow, but generally, it was a fantastic experience. I will now place my next book with Pegasus.

I have had a fantastic experience with this publishing company. Having published four books and worked with various team members over the course of 5 years they have always been transparent and honest. I think some of the negative reviews are unfair especially about the publicity team who worked very hard to launch me as a new author and have supported me in becoming a more established author. I always knew it would difficult gaining traction as a new author however the team at Pegasus have always been encouraging. The quality of the books are also great and not like the self published cheap printed titles you see so often now.

I'm a bookseller and I am shocked by how many 'first-time' authors have not done their research into (self) publishing their work. When I ask further about their experience of this company, the 'publisher', I am shocked at how many authors have paid to get into print; and who have been promised so much publicity and access into bookshops by this outfit. This is NOT true. Pegasus does no promotion or sales pitches to the bookselling industry. This company is a 'vanity publisher'. Some of the titles I've physically seen are badly produced, appear unedited/badly edited and do the author's work no justice. Not fit for shelves in shop. 'Publishers' like Pegasus should be studiously investigated and be upfront, honest and honour what they 'promise'. They are NOT a traditional publisher. Authors should NOT have to pay to have their work in print and if there is 'no payment upfront' the author should be receiving royalties but that's a tough one as Pegasus, I repeat, do not publicise or market their author's books directly to booksellers nor any of the genuine book distributors/wholesalers. Having your 'book' visible online (eg: Ama*on) is not marketing. And is not sales. I urge anyone wanting to get into print, please do your research first and thoroughly. Highly recommend getting a copy of the Writers' and Artists' Yearbook which is published annually. Best £30 you'll spend if you are very serious about your work. You, as author, have spent a lot of time and energy writing a book - treat it with respect and care. You - and your work - deserve it. Good luck.

I have just read the recent reviews. All the positive ones are by new authors who haven't yet had to deal with the publicity department. The negative ones report the same experience as ours: once the book is published they leave it floating in the ocean and get on to the next one.
We found such a negative review too late, when we had already entered into a so-called 'hybrid' contract with them. The money we paid them undoubtedly covered all the production costs, but there seems to have been no publicity or promotion of our book, although their (former) 'Publicist' promised to make all sorts of contacts - including with film companies! - and to update us, the promises were never fulfilled.
Our book came out in four volumes, starting in July 2021, with a main title and a subtitle for each volume, and up to now (July 2024) they avoid paying anything because "as the books have different ISBNs we will not be able to calculate the royalties..." They cannot use a calculator to add up four sums of money and find the total? Adding up the interest they have been accruing on these small amounts would be more difficult, but we consider that they owe us that as well!
We repeat: Be warned, don't pay them anything to publish your book! You are likely to be giving away far more than you will ever get back.

Pegasus made the process very easy. They were upfront about the production schedule and noted quiet times when the book would be in process, but I may not hear anything. The production coordinator was especially helpful and quickly responded when I had questions. A very positive overall experience!
My book has now been moved over to publicity as we are approaching the launch date. I was at first concerned about the marketing aspect, but this team is also responsive and helpful with my questions as I am learning this part of the schedule.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Pegasus but now that my book was published last July everything has gone a bit quiet and I wonder if they are short staffed. Dan is very polite and helpful but I have been waiting for my royalty payment which is quite small since being told it was due at the beginning of March. I wish them well as a company and would still give them 4 stars. I am sure they have got it in hand.

Company scam authors then cancel book after one year so it is not available to buy even online. They don't even get it into book shops

Pegasus was a very helpful, and respectful company. They helped make my journey of getting my book published easier, which I am thankful for. At times, communication proved to be a bit more challenging, however that was the only minor thing .

Your previous response to my last review was rather disappointing. You have asked me to reach out to the production team, despite our countless attempts to contact you. Our emails & calls have been ignored for months, on the occasions we have spoken to your team the service we received has been shocking. It's clear you do not care for your authors at all!

Correct we did have to stop the payments after majority of payments were taken while we were being ignored and told our simple requests will no be fulfilled.

The last email & call we made serval weeks ago was very serious so I’ll request here for someone to respond to that.
