Pegasus have been extremely helpful and has answered all of my questions promptly and professionally. First time novelist, they have guided me every step of the way. I'm now writing my second novel and will submit sometime in August 2026.

The communication between the team and I was great. The only problem came with an issue with the cover and me having to pick a new one after I had already signed for another

Publishing my first novel “Love Olive” has been a dream with the team at Pegasus! Super responsive, kind, supportive and passionate about what they do. Together we have created magic!

Pegasus publishing has been a god send! They are so good at communicating through every step of the process. I am so happy with my team and the work they’re doing! Any questions I have, they answer!

Don't publish with Pegasus.
I did, five years ago. It was a huge mistake, followed by many, many headaches and disappointments.
They promise so much, yet deliver nearly nothing.
They didn't edit my novel properly, to start with. There was half a sentence missing on one of the pages. Their editors deleted it, probably by accident when going over the last draft!
No support and very difficult to get a straight answer from anyone. Royalties... Don't exist. Marketing doesn't exist. My novel wasn't sent to any bookshop. I had to threaten litigation to get the book rights back from them so that I can publish elsewhere.

Expect to wait years. Do not invest your money here. They take it and you don't get anything for it. AI generated illustrations. very poor quality. Frustrations at every turn. Unprofessional. Beware.

This was amongst the worst 'transaction' (definitely not a business engagement) that I have ever been subjected to my whole life.
The first book they published for me was bad enough in terms of a positive customer experience and I was desperately hoping they would not take up the contractually binding second book option.
Little did I know then how appallingly worse things could get and that contracts are of no interest to them at all. The only thing that happens quickly is the taking of your money. After that, it's like dealing with a rotating set of school kids on work experience.
Numerous 'production co-ordinators' came and went, none of them able to reply to emails, or answer simple questions when they did bother to reply (often many weeks and chasers later), or resolve concerns or delays.
Despite my contract saying the book had to be published in 12 months, it took nearly 2 years to eventually come to fruition. And they never let me discuss the contract beach with their contracts department, or raise a complaint with any senior management.
And then there was the actual book itself. Despite the premise being really clear from the first book, this being the same characters, they kept sending me new illustrations that changed the imperative features of the first book's lead characters. Even when I told them to simply cut and paste and re-use the same images, they managed to get them wrong.
Once completed, they sent out books without the agreed flyers and book-marks, and only realised when I chased for those too. Still waiting for them because they've "had to re-order".
If you have the patience of a saint, the tolerance of Mother Teresa, the customer service expectations from the worst used car salesforce, you might just escape with your sanity in trying to get your book over the line. But I seriously doubt it.
I would say for your own emotional well-being, your professional credibility, and to ensure you are engaged with as a partner and with respect, ask someone else to help you publish your book. I would have given minus 10 stars if I could!

I was told at each step, what was required next, plus an overview of where in the whole process we were. The people that I was in touch with were always friendly, approachable and knowledgeable

The illustration team considered my input and made revisions accordingly. They effectively communicated with me throughout the process. Thank you! Libby Ravander

So far in the process, I have been impressed with the straightforward approach taken by the team. At first I was nervous about the sparsity of communications but that was just the process. Since the finalisation of the editing process, the comms has been very good. I am looking forward to the publication and publicity stage now

I want to say a massive thankyou to the whole team! As a first time author I had no idea what to expect but everything was explained clearly from the start of the first draft right through to end. So grateful I have been given the opportunity to turn my dreams into reality.
Thanks so much

Georgina Shorey was great to work with. As you might expect, I had plenty of questions and inquiries as we went through the process, and Georgina was always responsive and helpful. She made the process enjoyable.

My book was finally published after a year. I had four different people from production each one leaving moving me on to someone else. When my book finally turned up it looked so poor in part because nobody told me 24 pages or less would be stapled. I then had to redesign the layout to make it 28 pages with no help from anyone at Pegasus.
I am still awaiting a finished book but all I get is automated emails telling me to fill out forms I have already completed.
It seems no one in the company talks to each other and it’s left to me, the author, to keep pushing both production and publicity to do their job which they are incompetent to do and this has cost me £1500.

Thanks for allowing me to grow as an author for more than 4 years, allowing me to experiment different writing styles and techniques. Thanks again for the patience, resilience and believing in the quality of my work

My second book, A Silent Sorrow, has been published by Pegasus Publishers. My experience has led to the unusual step, for me, of writing a review for TrustPilot. I will attempt to detail my experience in a balanced, factual way and allow any reader to draw their own conclusions.
For context, A Silent Sorrow is my second book. My first, A Soldier’s Story, was published by Little Brown. The first had excellent commercial potential the second less so. Hence, I was delighted when Pegasus contacted me to say they would publish the book, albeit with a hybrid contract.
I won’t go into the details of the production process. Suffice to say Pegasus produced a very good book; a blurb which described the story well, a cover which is striking and well produced and a book which has received many positive comments. Thank you.
Thereafter my experience is, to put it mildly, disappointing.
I was advised the launch date of the book on 15 December 2025, six and a half weeks before it was due to be released. I was told the book had been sent to the publicity department. I was informed of the release date of my first book seven months ahead of time and worked, proactively, with a publicist for the three months up to the set date. I was assured that the publicity team were on the case, allowing me to maximise sales of my book. They would contact local bookshops and assess whether any wished to work with me on book signings, launch events etc. Eleven weeks after book launch, I am receiving emails from friends and family around the country to say they cannot get the book in their local bookshops. My local bookshops not only are not working with me they have never heard of the book, don’t stock it and don’t know how to get it (I’m talking Waterstones and others here).
I provided the publicity team with the requested photograph – nothing has appeared. I sent a book commendation from a famous UK actress with a social media following of nearly 300,000 to four people at Pegasus including publicity – it hasn’t been utilised. That said, they have sent the person in question a book free of charge and a post has appeared on her Instagram page, which is a positive. The reality is they will have limited resources so will focus on the books with standard contracts where they have paid for the rights and expect the volumes. So, disappointing, not what I was told or expected but it is what it is.
My main concern is, one which I find totally unacceptable, I paid an additional £500 for a publicity pack. Three weeks after launch I had nothing and the momentum was lost. I asked for the return of the £500 and received 50 bookmarks and flyers. I was promised Flyers (printed copies and digital), Bookmarks (printed copies and digital), Posters (printed copies and digital), Press Release (digital), Social Media Banners (digital). The order for posters was submitted 3 March. As of today, 16 April, nothing. I have not asked the team to produce social media banners. Yes, I may still receive the poster; yes, they may send digital copies of what they have produced but the book has been out for nearly three months and the ship has sailed. It is, in my mind, perfectly reasonable to expect a publicity pack to be ready to support a book launch. Three months later it’s next to useless. I’m afraid I have to be blunt and say I feel misled and totally ripped off.
In summary, I have my book. The process, whilst frustrating, delivered the goods. Thereafter, appalling. If my experience of the publicity pack is typical then don’t bother. Any author must make their own choice. Seek a standard contract and if that doesn’t work take a hybrid contract with your eyes open. It will not get the same attention, that has to be a commercial reality. My contract stipulates Pegasus has first refusal on my next two books. I would still like to have a positive relationship with them with a standard contract. I wouldn’t go anywhere near a hybrid contract. If the book isn’t a commercial proposition I would have it printed locally at a fraction of the cost. As the saying goes, you pays your money, you takes your choice.
I have provided this review to Pegasus before uploading and have not received a response.
Shortly after I posted this review I received the posters which were adequate. Today, Wednesday, I received the book trailer. Credit where credit is due it is excellent- thank you. I understand all publishers may work differently but my expectations were the publicity pack would arrive to support the book launch. I understand now I could have requested that but I was never aware I may need to do that. I have revised my rating to three stars; quality book, some positive aspects of publicity and some frustrations remains.
Given what I know now I hope I can work with Pegasus again more constructively.

The Pegasus team treated me with respect and kept the promised deadlines. Maybe I expected a more personal feedback.

Lesley made my experience awesome. She accommodated me and my excesses 😀. I'm so satisfied with everything and don't regret anything. Pegasus publishers are not like other fake publishers that promise and never deliver. These guys make sure you win.

Pegasus Elliot Mackenzie Publishers Ltd were amazing throughout the whole process 🙌 of publishing my book together ❤️ they stayed in contact with me all the way through. They replied to every one of my emails, when calling them they were very supportive and also always answered. They assisted me so much in bringing my book to life, they followed through in delivering my complimentary copies and they aren't damaged 1 bit. They have put in the hard work and are a real great fantastic publisher for anyone who they accept. I would like to thank Elaine and lesley for always getting back to me as soon as they could and for making everything so much easier. The art team done a superb job and the whole team at pegasus really 👏 👌 👍 hats off. They work their buts off and deserve more credit. They are a legit real publisher that delivers properly. Dont believe otherwise.
Thank you so much to everyone 💗 over there at pegasus you hit a home run. And you are absolutely Amazing. 💯 😇🥰😃

Absolute scam artists, this company offered to do the artwork as part of their package and provided some absolutely pathetic Ai generated cartoons, nothing related to what was asked for, they promised real art and then failed to ever make changes to the art or improve it, breaching the contract.
After years we gave up with them as they never responded to emails or calls.
Now a year later they send an email with the audacity to request full payment of the contract.
They havent got a hope in hell of ever winning that one in court, as we have recorded all the emails and calls. Stay away, scam artists.
