Pegasus approved my manuscript and my first book has been published. They have put things in place for marketing and promoting the book.

Vanity publisher - do not engage with anyone who demands money from you up front to publish your book. It's also worth noting that of the 9 providers they proudly proclaimed my book would be sold through, 5 were Amazon - who you can self-publish with for free.
TL DR; a scam. Do not give these scum your money.
Update: following the idiotic reply below, I don't have a contract because I didn't accept it. I was offered one, but didn't accept it because I'm not a fool.

I found my experience with Pegasus Publishers deeply disappointing and, in several respects, unacceptable. In my view, they knew exactly what they were doing, repeatedly misled me and failed to meet basic professional standards.
• The editing process felt inadequate and, at times, careless.
• The original front cover design was extremely poor and would not have encouraged anyone to buy the book.
• The illustrations did not match the storyline.
• The production manager let it slip that the illustrators do not get to read the book, which may explain why the artwork was appalling.
• Meaningful illustrations were only provided after Pegasus became aware that I had contacted my credit card company.
• No marketing.
• Emails ignored
• The book was published six months late.
• The royalty statement was also late and, when it arrived, it was incorrect.
• Two copies were sold on Amazon in the first term, but I still have not been paid for them.
• The most recent six-month statement records one sale to a wholesaler; however, I have also received messages through my website, suggesting that more copies may have been sold.
In line with the contract, I have sent emails and recorded-delivery letters stating that I want publication to stop. I have received no reply.
Given the lack of payment, poor communication and unresolved issues, I see no point in continuing publication with a company that has not met its obligations.
What hurts most is my experience with the Commissioning Editor. Before signing, I had a couple of conversations with her to assess how sincere Pegasus Publishers appeared to be. It has since become clear to me that her responses during those conversations were not genuine and felt more like part of a game than a sincere professional exchange.
About a year ago, I joined WriteMentor, a writing community supported by several leading UK literary agents and the Society of Authors. Since then, hearing their views has been eye-opening, especially around publishers of this kind and the concerns commonly raised about their practices.
Articles by Writers Weekly and Reedsy on this subject are similarly critical. Their commentary reinforces the wider concerns raised by others about publishers operating in this way.

Georgina who helped me in production was fantastic! She was very kind and helpful with all my questions.

These publishers are an absolute joke. Do NOT spend ANY money trying to publish a book with these people because you will never get it returned. They do NO publicity. They refuse to. In fact, they told me when I asked what they’d done to promote mine, that they “cannot run any advertisements for any of our authors” I’m sorry what is my money being spent on then?
So because of this, I’ve apparently had no sales on my book. Which I know is false as someone else said below, some have bought them from somewhere. I wasn’t honestly expecting much because this company did no publicity, but I didn’t expect literally NOTHING.
Not only this, it took them six months to tell me I’ve had no sales. Why is that?
They asked me before the book was published for a list of bookshops, magazines, newspapers, book clubs, etc in the area so they could contact them for publicity. This has not been done. They have contacted nobody. I confirmed this by contacting these places myself and asking, and they confirmed this to me.
They claim a single blog post on their website is enough publicity, I’m sorry, why would anybody be looking at their website? They’re a scam publishing company. Nobody is looking.
But putting all that aside, I’d like to bring to everyone’s attention the other reasons why I’m angry at this company. They charge so much for doing so little. They sent me a cover mockup that had random characters on it that don’t exist in my novel, and multiple times sent me blurbs that made no sense and seemed to be from other books. The editing was terrible, I had to fix almost everything they did. I think they did it with an AI, because the edits made no sense and didn’t seem to understand Gen Z slang. The publishing process was not personalised at all, there was barely any communication and they took ages getting back to me from every email I sent, they then have the cheek to ask for rights to my next book in my contract which thankfully wasn’t legally binding, they just said they’d prefer to be my first choice - er, no thanks.
Oh, and they have the cheek to take 75% of any royalties you make. For doing what exactly? Who knows. You wrote the book, do all the hard work, but you are the customer, and you are basically donating your money to them because you’ll never see any of it again. Well, joke’s on them, because apparently I didn’t make any money, so they didn’t either. Sort of glad for that, honestly.
The wrong cover was then printed, and I had to tell them they got the font wrong. The books they sent me now had the correct font, but it’s still incorrect online everywhere. I bet they’re going to reply to me telling me that I signed off on a cover so I should be happy, but honestly I’m not happy because it looks like it was made with AI and everybody tells me so. They claim it wasn’t but I don’t believe them and they’ve provided no evidence to the contrary, I asked who the artist was to credit them and they have not replied. There is no info on the artist at the start of the book, where cover artists are usually credited. If, you know, they’re real. I had to tell the ‘design team’ everything to edit because no information was passed onto them about the characters, clearly. It was very generic and basic and not personalised.
Oh, and the publishing process took ages. Probably because they demanded thousands from me, and refused to start work on it until I’d paid everything off.
I’m currently publishing my next book with a different publisher, and the difference has been night and day. My project manager calls me and updates me regularly, the editing process has been extremely quick and correct, my cover is amazing, and there’s just so much care there. Actual passion. With Pegasus Elliot Mackenzie, you are just another number to them, that number being the thousands of pounds you will give them to print a few books and do nothing else.
DO NOT waste your time or money with these people. I’m actually begging you. If you know you’ve written a good book, but no one’s biting other than these predatory sharks, go for self publishing. Trust me, these people are basically self publishing with a way higher price tag. There are plenty of self publishing companies who will do more for way less money. It’s one of the worst industries to make it in, and ‘publishers’ like this are part of the reason why. Just because you can’t find anyone willing to take on your book for free doesn’t mean it’s not good, it’s like finding a needle in a haystack. If you don’t want to search and search for years for an agent, don’t be dumb like I was and just go for the first publishers that accept it, especially if they want money. If you don’t want to waste your time searching and searching, self publishing is the way to go. Trust me. Do NOT sign with Pegasus Elliot Mackenzie because you’ll be wasting time AND money.

ok where do i start, terrible experience, multiple times spelling errors have come back after supposed to have been proof read then when it did go to print they made a mistake which wasnt on the final proof which was signed of on, and to make matters worse they would not reprint it, they sent it out which a glaring mistake, then the real fun began, the royalities, 11 months in to the royalties and aparantly i have only sold 1 book and i know for a fact this is a lie as i have several family members purchased a copy and they have receipts from amazon and also have seen the book in local libray so they have bought it from somewhere, when questioned they basically ignore you or gaslight you into thinking they are right, take this and go self publish and save your self money

Given the whole publication process is such a long journey - and each stage is so different, it is quite hard to feedback on the whole process without seeming to be very non-specific. But that said I am very happy with what has been achieved so far. However, we are not yet finished. And there are many things I will do differently on books two and three.

When I signed my publishing agreement with Pegasus, I was told my children’s book would be published within one year. Instead, it took two years and two months before it finally reached the publishing stage. The design process was extremely slow and far more complicated than it should have been.
Every time I reviewed proofs — even for the text alone — there were formatting errors, incorrect page layouts, or text placed on the wrong pages. Once illustrations were added, the back‑and‑forth became even more frustrating. There were major inconsistencies throughout the artwork: the father looked different from the beginning to the end, the child’s bedroom changed from page to page, and the main character herself was not drawn consistently. It took years to get a version that was simply “acceptable,” but even now, I am not fully satisfied.
As a publishing company, I expected a high standard for spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Instead, I had to correct basic errors multiple times. Communication was also extremely poor. Months would go by without any response, and I had to constantly follow up just to get updates. At one point, it took three to four months to hear back from the design team, and I genuinely began to worry that I was being scammed. I even researched whether Pegasus was a legitimate publisher.
After this experience, I would not choose Pegasus again for future books.

The communication with the editors was excellent. The follow-up provided by the designers could have more perfect.

Fantastic team to work with - ig is a lengthy process so be prepared to be patient.
Book due to be published on 25th June 2026 so have not seen physical final product.
Only point for improvement would be assistance in promoting and promotional items in time for release.
Other than that, very excited to see what this may bring

A vanity publisher hiding in the gray area of hybrid publishers. You reject them, and they offer lower prices and alternative plans to keep you on the hook. They seem polite; however, they want your money more than they want your manuscript.

I'll tell you what went wrong, I submitted four books in total, the first of the four well over 18 moths almost two years ago, the other three between January and February 2025, so far not one has actually been published. When asked why not, all I got was a load of lies. When I first signed up to Pegasus, I was promised that the books would only take eight months to be published, so far not one has seen the light of day, so either I see my books published withon the next three months, or I am going to start legal action to claim the £10'000 pounds I have paid you back, I'm wnttiled to a full refund because you clowns have not honoured your side of the contract, so from here on, I will never use Pegasus ever again, and I will certainly will be leaving negative feedback on Trust Pilate, Pegasus should be ashamed of themselves. I guess this is the publishing world, full of empty promises, shame really because I have 30 books that I want to publish, so you morons have just thrown away a £60'000 deal, how stupid can you be at Pegasus?

Excellent! This being my first experience of having a book published, things could be very daunting, were it not for the splendid people at Pegasus Publishers who have helped me with every step.
Their communications have been superb throughout, and the people I have dealt with so far very helpful indeed.
I had two publishers interested in my work, but I declined one of them in favour of Pegasus, because I liked the 'feel' of them better, as well as them being based closer to home, rather than in London. And they have not disappointed me in my choice!

My experience with this publishing company was amazing. They made sure I was part of every step to ensure my vision for my book was truly met.

Svar från Pegasus Publishers
I have to say that the pre-publication process was a great deal slower than I would have wished and I found that I had to contact Pegasus for updates rather than them being proactive in keeping me informed. In contrast, in the lead up to the publication date the publicity team have been excellent and supportive.

Svar från Pegasus Publishers
Pegasus have been extremely helpful and has answered all of my questions promptly and professionally. First time novelist, they have guided me every step of the way. I'm now writing my second novel and will submit sometime in August 2026.

The communication between the team and I was great. The only problem came with an issue with the cover and me having to pick a new one after I had already signed for another
