Unfit for purpose

Why do so many energy companies employ these incompetent clowns?! We received a card through the letterbox telling us to read our gas meter and submit a reading online within 48hrs. No problem, go to the website, choose British Gas as our supplier and find that there's no option to enter our reading. Send a complaint to MDS. Apparently, BG won't let them submit readings online. WHY NOT MENTION THAT ON YOUR WEBSITE, YOU CRETINS?!!! Told to ring BG directly and give the reading over the phone. What exactly are Morrison being paid for in this scenario? They didn't do anything!

Turned up out of the blue

Someone turned up out of the blue but fortunately I missed them. I was concerned to find a note through my door to say they had come to read my meter as I only just sent readings and do so regularly. The card says pets ‘may not like having an unfamiliar person visit’ - I don’t either! Have tried to contact British Gas but was logged out just as I got to chat to an advisor. People should not be allowed to turn up without an appointment.

No show

This company was given a job to come and replace faulty gas meter on behalf of OVO Energy. We waited over 5 hours no show so managed to get OVO to rebook job with different company who showed up within 2 hours Morrisons data need to pull there finger out. SMS Data rang to confirm engineer was on route.

Arrived out of the blue!

Just had a man ring my bell, as I opened the door he bluntly said here to read the meter, I told him I gave British Gas one yesterday but still insisted. Hardly polite, showed no ID and drove off in a car with Morrison Data Services that's the only reason I knew who he was! The meter is literally over the front door so I felt I didn't really have a choice but wish I'd read these reviews now! A bit of warning would have been nice. Next time I won't bother!

A lady turned up at my door today to…

A lady turned up at my door today to read my gas meter. I end up denying her to come in or have a reading because I have smart meter anyway and I was not informed prior to this of anything. I then contacted my provider and they had nothing skeduled or requested for my address. I was advised not to give any information to 3rd party.
However, the name they had on their hand device was wrong for my house. From what I can understand its the information from an old data base... but it's worrying... anyone can request a reading out of the blue?

MSD turned up to read my elderly…

MSD turned up to read my elderly father's meter out of the blue. He was very confused, knowing that his supplier is British Gas and they hadn't sent him any notice of such a visit. We understand Morrisons are a legitimate service but they must be causing a lot of concern amongst other elderly customers.

Be very very careful.

Be very very careful.
This company morrisons came to do a meter reading knocked door but no answer then went around to the side door and then tried the handle to get inn to the property didn't know who it was but reported to the police camera front and side picked him up trying the doors.
Your not allowed to break and enter the property without consent

Knocked on my door wanting to read the meter. Wearing black and had no I.D. very unprofessional. Got told to leave. Why don't you carry/wear I.D. it's 2023?. Watched them drive off in small van with Morrisons Data Services on which is why I know who you are

EDF had arranged a date and time to fit 3 Phase Meter

EDF had arranged a date and time to fit an Electric Meter to my new build bungalow. I made it clear to EDF that my supply was Three Phase with numerous emails. EDF never acknowledged my emails other than to text the appointment to me again. Come the day the MorrisonDS fitter phoned to check if the supply was actually 3 Phase (apparently there was a comment on works Order) and said he could only do single phase! I AGREED THAT it would be a waste of time for him to come.
About 20 minutes later I got a call from Nicole (South Shields No.) who queried that i had told the fitter not to come. I explained everything to Nicole and she confirmed that the job would be passed back to EDF. About 5 minutes later i got a call back from Nicole asking if it would be okay to send a fitter in the afternoon - of course I agreed. Lovely guy attended to fit the meter, BUT well done Nicole for re organising the work schedule and probably saving my Xmas.

Excellent review Services

We had a excellent Engineer came into our property and fixed up the meter he was friendly and done a excellent job his id Bradley Yarron ID 525113.
Me and my wife very happy with him done a excellent job in the near future recommended to anyone.

I've never needed any third party to…

I've never needed any third party to come read my meter and today this company without prior notice comes knocking at my door. Fortunately I missed them and they left notice cards saying to contact them back with meter readings. After this I contacted British Gas who understood this was a company that worked on their behalf to gather meter readings. Needless to say I made it clear for them not to opt me into anything with my authority and to take me off MDS list.

Knocked on my door out of the blue…

Knocked on my door out of the blue while I was working, asking to read my meters. No information provided, no previous email contact, no notification from my gas/electric company. No information as to why they were asking. No information as to who they were. And they truly expected me to let them in.

Bluntly, I'd be an idiot to let someone into my house like this. Anyone can print a jacket with a company name on it.

Morrison data company unskilled.

Morrison data company installed new electricity and gas meters sub contracted by EDF.They gave me a refurbished in home display unit that has never worked.How can I monitor my energy usage? Waste of time and lies about benefits of smart dumb meters.

Dodgy company

Have no idea why they have suddenly started turning up at my door. The first time I let the guy in but the cupboard where the meter is is full if stuff that needs to be cleared out. I told him to carrt on and clear it out as i was in the middle of work, ge said he wasn't insured to so i said he would have to come back. Tried to give him a day i would be free and a time, he said he couldn't come back at that time so would just turn up. He turned up today just as i was about to go and collect my daughter from school. He said it needs to be reaf by the end of next week, i told him i am working and unless he can give me a day and time this will keep happening. But pathetic if you ask me.

Why can't they give you a time slot so you can make arrangements to be home?

Considering they get paid to read the…

Considering they get paid to read the meter they don't hang around long, my elderly parents heard the door bell, before they could get to the door the meter reader had gone, now they are panicking as they are old they think it is imperative the reading needs to be done as a red slip was posted and they will now get an estimated bill.

Trying to work their way through the system to get the reading from the meter proved far too much for them, after some work it is the same for me and I am tech savvy.

What is going on I thought it was a remote reading these days with no need to enter the property.......it is too difficult for most people to be able to read these meters especially older people who are infirm, why can't you make is easier, they are panicking now as they could not really afford the bills last year and the red card left tells them if they don't send the reading they could get estimated bills, VERY HEAVY HANDED especially with the cost of fuel these days. I am now revisiting the review as I cannot believe what has happened next, on the red card there is a link to Morrisonds website how to read your meter, of course our meter is not on there BUT there is a free phone number, I called it thinking someone would tell me what to do as it is under the link for the guideline, it is to give your reading with no help at all how to get the meter reading up. after several attempts and to visits to my parents when I should be in work, we are at the same place. why do you not show all meters on the link, you fitted the stupid thing ?????

Don't let them in

I am an ex employee of Morrison Data Services and was sacked for whistle blowing. They won't admit it but every time a Morrison Data Services meter reader reads your meter the cost of this is quietly passed down to the customer via the suppliers billing system. It's easier and cheaper to submit your own reading to your supplier yourself, do not let them in, it will cost you.

Excellent smart meter installation

After dealing with the company with the worst customer service I've experienced in 2 decades (EON) for over a year to try and get smart meters installed, their subcontractor Morrison were excellent.

Two people arrived, in the specified 4 hour window, having called 15 mins in advance. They were courteous, reminded me that I might need to power some stuff down gracefully before flicking the electric off. They explained what they were going to do, ensured everything was working after turning the gas and electric back on, told me how my new handful device worked, said thankyou and goodbye.

I have no idea who demands answers to the stupidly long list of pre-install questions that EON sends. If it is Morrison rather than EON, consider this just a review of your engineers, not your whole process.
