Mackie's of Scotland Omdömen

Great ice cream!! Especially love the new indulgent flavours

The traditional vanilla is excellent. Pure in texture and with a superb natural flavour. In my opinion it far exceeds other well known brands.

Mackies used to be my favourite ice cream. I bought the vanilla and the vanilla with honey regularly. I bought it again after a while and it just wasn’t the same. It turns out they changed the recipe leaving out egg and juggling the other ingredients. Where it used to melt in the mouth I now find it heavy and cloying. I’m really disappointed and hope they rethink and give us back the original delicious ice cream that we all loved.

I bought their icecream from Waitrose. First time I have tasted it. Wonderful! I shall be buying it again. The honeycomb bits were lovely

We always buy Kelly's ice-cream but when doing the shopping this was in their place .. so thought it must be good reading the ingredients so we'll give it a go ...
MISTAKE !!
It's white, watery and tasteless.
Will definitely not be buying again ..
Back to trusted kellys for us ..

Never tried their ice cream before , so got tempted by the tempting ingredients. On opening the tub , freshly bought today , it's a white ice cream, never good if it's supposed to be creamy
Bitter disappointment, total and completely utterly tasteless rubbish
The cheapest supermarket ice cream has more taste than this
Save your money

My wife said let’s try mackies ice cream so we purchased the raspberry ripple it’s tasted wonderful but the problem was very little ripple and as you get to the bottom of the tub none at all so very disappointed I think we will go back to the old asda ice cream.very disappointed

Relocated from Italy to Scotland, Edingurgh since 5 years by now, tried different ice creams here, including the acclaimed "Luca's", and definitely found it not special at all. Mackies went far beyond my expectations of just a tasty product. It's creamy, milky texture makes it literally addictive. My 7 years old daughter loves it, and I always keep at least 3 tubs in our freezer, mainly Scottish Tablet, Raspberry, Salted caramel for her, and the unbeatable Traditional tub all for myself! Amazing product!

We used to love Mackie's ice cream - on a par with the wonderful Luca's. But something has gone far wrong. I recently tried it again (could have been bad batches on the previous occasions), but no, it's awful. It is no longer lovely and creamy and has no taste now. Such a shame. I didn't even finish mine. We were unanimous in deciding it's a different product now and whatever has been done to it has ruined both the texture and the taste. I would urge Mackie's to do a taste test - try the original recipe next to the new one and see what you think! It would be great if the old recipe could be revived as it was really, really good.

If i could leave below 1 star i would.. I don't often leave review but sadly this time I had too! Advertising their creamy ice-cream, blah blah blah .. All I will say its watery with no cream or even an cream texture! Awful and wont be buying again.. Sorry!

Oh god what's wrong with the flavours mint taste like toothpaste really really disappointing 😅

The traditional tub of ice cream was more like I remember years ago.
I haven't tried the honeycombe flavour as yet.
I notice in the reviews that some customers have been disappointed but could this be because we have got so used to artificial ice cream with little cream and artificial ingredients ie gums etc to thicken it.

I think this is the first time I've not finished a serving of ice cream. No real flavour, texture wrong and too sweet. Also noticed the packaging is cheaper. Thinner plastic that cracks easily in the freezer.

This ice cream was always a family favourite but unfortunately the quality is no longer there. I will no longer be purchasing this product.

Mackies Honeycomb ice cream tub has no flavour and barely 5 tiny bits of honeycomb in it, for a litre of ice cream is absolutely poor, ice cream taste like poor Mr Wippys. Won't ever being wasting money on this brand again

Just tried Mackie's cream of scottish vanilla easy scoop ice cream for the first time. I mistakenly thought they had rebranded their Traditional real dairy ice cream to that.
Quite frankly when I opened the tub and saw this sickly yellow ice cream, I thought about throwing it straight into the bin. However, given how much I like their Traditional ice cream I gave it a try. Oh boy, wished I had gone with my first instinct. It tastes so bland, you neither get any real vanilla taste or any dairy taste. It's so synthetic and an abuse to any taste bud.
Quite simply avoid the easy scoop. It's disappointing enough that the Traditional has lost some of its creaminess over the last few years, but this easy scoop takes the biscuit.

Bought the chocolate chip mackies ice cream today. Usually im very satisfied the products from mackies scotland, however this time I am unfortunately not. Im not not even lying, I ate half the tub and only 2 chocolate chips. Not happy. #justiceformyicecream

A very nice Ice cream.with a decent range of flavours.made using natural ingredients.always a staple supermarket purchase in our house since Kelly’s of Cornwall was brought by Froneri and turned in an oily mess.recommended

Great ice cream! Their traditional is always my favorite - creamy and made locally!

I had a couple of purchases where vanilla tasted sour. I’m very sensitive to sour taste and don’t eat cheese. As this is my favourite ice cream I bought again
last week and absolutely delicious.
Keep up good work.

I love this product as not too sickly and great flavour.
