I recently had my eyes tested at the Newtownards Rd Branch after a recommendation by a friend and I was not disappointed. Upon my arrival
I was greeted by Amy-Leigh who instantly made me feel at ease knowing I was new to the shop. Amy-Leigh explained what would be happening and that Gerry was the optometrist who would be testing my eyes. Gerry was very informative and explained throughout what he was doing and why which was great as he knew I was a bit nervous. After having my eyesight tests done he took me back to Amy-Leigh who help me choose 2 pairs of glasses. She showed me around the shop which I might add is lovely and bright and very spacious which means you actually have room to view the vast array on display. Amy-Leigh knew my budget and what I liked. Her knowledge of the glasses and my prescription meant she knew what to offer me. After a few dilemmas and James help I finally picked. I would highly recommend Mackeys Newtownards Road Branch you will not be disappointed. James, Gerry and Amy-Leigh were very patient, helpful and extremely knowledgeable in their fields. 5⭐️

I recently had my eyes tested in Mackey's opticians in the Haypark Avenue branch. The service I received was exceptional. Sorcha tested my eyesight. She explained everything before proceeding and made sure that I understood every step of the process. Sharon greeted me on my arrival, she is very friendly and welcoming and helped me to pick out my glasses. I felt valued as a customer by Sharon and Sorcha. They made me feel at ease and reassured me throughout. Thank you Sorcha and Sharon for making my experience so positive. I will be a regular customer.

Stay away from the Portadown branch if you value your eyesight. My wife contacted them last Thursday 8th August morning for an emergency appointment as she had a sore eye. She explained that her eye was very blurry and very sore, at first she was told it was 2 weeks before she could get an appointment, when she pushed the receptionist she got an appointment for Monday 12th. Her eye got worse over the next days and on Saturday at 2pm we went into branch to see if we could be seen, as she now had no vision in her eye. Dispite they fact there was no one in the shop and that my wife told the girl that she had no vision and was in a lot of pain, she was still refused an appointment. Indeed she was told by the receptionist, sure go across the road to Specsavers maybe they will see you. Great customer service! My wife did go to Specsavers, who despite begin very busy (notice the diffence in both shops) said they would get her an emergency appointment, as the receptionist could see there was an issue with my wife's eye. My wife ended up having to attend RVH eye casualty as she had an a serious virus in her eye. At the time of writing this my wife still has no vision in her eye and is having to apply eye drops every hour in the hope this clears up and she gets her sight back in her eye.
Both Specsavers and RVH have been very critical of the way Mackey Eyecaredealt with my wife. (might need to change the last part of your name). Will never trouble your company again as when it comes to dealing with my eyes are I prefer to deal with a reputable company.

Had a hearing assessment for hearing aids today with Jaqueline McPolin at the Bangor branch . I have to say this is the most professional and comprehensive assessment I’ve ever had for my hearing . The detail and understanding of my hearing problem from her was nothing short of superb. No fancy sales talk , or pressure to purchase, just a very professional presentation of my situation and the steps to be taken to improve my hearing .
Thank you very much Jaqueline , you are the best audiologist practitioner I’ve ever met.

I would like to thank the lady called Rita at the glenroad . For all her help when choosing my new glasses. The before and after care I received was so good , her time and patience , Iwas so impressed I just felt I needed to write my first review. So once again many thanks . Mrs P HANRATTY .

My daughter visited for an vision assessment with Andrew Petticrew. He was so patient, explaining everything, answering all our questions. Andrew is an incredibly intelligent audiologist and evident he has a genuine passion for his job. I would highly recommend.

I have just had visit with an audiologist, Leanne. Leanne contacted me before my visit so she was prepared. I had my hearing test today and Leanne explained what she would be looking for and how she would do this. She explained the results and was very reassuring. I went in slightly worried and came out happy. On top of all that the test was complimentary.

Disgruntled and very disappointed with the service my 77 year old mother received, she has severe mobility issues, required to replace her glasses, she choose Mackay Donaghadee to support local businesses.
However once eyes tested and frames brought down stairs 6 pairs twice to choose from, she was advised her prescription glasses would be ready with 1-2 weeks, she asked could she pay deposit, however was requested to pay in full.
Two weeks later she received notification to collect, tried them on said they weren't great. She doesn't complain so kept them on all day once home, obviously the prescription was incorrect as she felt unbalanced.
Her husband contacted the business first thing Monday morning and was asked to bring mother back again.
Two weeks later new glasses arrived much better prescription, and NO apology for inconvenience and upset to a mature lady, just “ it must be been too strong of a prescription!” how one would wonder this could occur, an error perhaps somewhere - this surely warrenting an apology.
