Got a quote and booked service

Got a quote and booked service. Mechanics said he would be at our house between 2-4 pm. Received a call a 3.00 p.m. stating they could not do my service as apparently a mechanic pulled the pull and left the business. I had come home early for the service. Then they tell me they don't service our area. I said well why did you quote and book the service in. They say the "system" got it wrong and assumed another location. Talked to the customer service team and the Mechanics Manager. They didn't want to accept my disappointment and gave me every reason under the sun why they couldn't do the service. The Manager then told me he had 5 staff off sick and I am wondering the real reason as to their inability to do my service. I told them I would never be using them again. Very poor attitude and customer service approach.

Incompletent car " mechanic"

he car " mechanic" from Lube does a terrible job. The primary issue discussed was the vibration in the brake pedal. Initially, he inspected the rotor visually and deemed it acceptable. However, upon a test drive and a subsequent visual inspection of the rotor, he noted concerns about its condition. Upon raising the vehicle and observing a shake in the front left wheel, he suggested that the front LH Wheel tie rod/bearing might be causing the vibration. Asked me to get the wheel done first and then if the problem still persist, then he will COME BACK again and ‘ Diagnose" the issue again. Use my money for another round of BS Diagnose? My guest is he forgot to bring the brake pad and rotor, that is why he put the blame to other issue. In the end I paid them $150 for doing nothing to solve the problem. Lost confidence in them and i went to a car mechanic the next day, I mean a real car mechanic, the mechanic said its the rotor, brake pad that is causing the vibration, the wheel tie rod is a small issue, it will not affect vibration on the pedal, just change the rotor and pad and it should work. One hour later, my car is on the road again, no more vibration. Paid $350 with 2 new rotor and 2 new brake pad. If you can't change Engine Oil and busy, maybe you can call Lube Mobile, other than that, get a real mechanic.

If I could give more stars I would. This is for mechanic Josh van 16

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!! I was a bit sceptical about mobile mechanics but was left with no choice after my car gave up. Josh was so incredibly nice, explaining things to me pretty simply and trying everything that he could to help. He went above and beyond when trying to fix my car including multiple visits to try something new. In the end it didn’t quite go to plan but Josh gave me time to think about decisions that needed to be made and he was so incredibly understanding about my circumstances. My experience with Josh was one of the best interactions I’ve had with a mechanic and i will absolutely be requesting him again. Would HIGHLY recommend

The coolant light came on in my fiat

The coolant light came on in my fiat, fortunately as l had pulled up at home on a Sunday afternoon. Booked Lube Mobile for 8am the next day and Robert was bang on time! He has lots of experience with fiats so was able to get the parts for my burst coolant hose and had everything finished by Midday, just in time for me to leave for work. Really impressed and many thanks!

Dangerous and reckless

After a day with Lubemobile my vehicle is worse off and I actually paid money for some incompetent mechanic to make my car dangerous, then ignore that fact when it was reported back to him.

Started the work but didn't bring replacements, fine.
He removed the old ones then went to collect replacements that will take "only 30 minutes" it was actually 3 hours.
He brought back one that was not the appropriate size.
So he left again. Finally completed the job and he took it for a test.
I suggest he gets a hearing test.
I drove the vehicle and it is screeching with the slightest turn of the wheels from the very first corner.
The parts are not reinstalled properly, torque!
I made contact and he said he would return to look at it. I waited an hour then asked him when?, nothing, still waiting..........
So the decision he made as an employee was to ignore and forget!
Maybe stop talking on the phone all day and focus on your job!

NOTE: I went to a reputable company this morning to get a full check as I was concerned about Lubemobile's "work"

1. The brake backing shield was loose, not put back on properly.
It was making contact with the other parts of the wheel and causing the screeching noise.

2. Loose bolts. 2 loose on each wheel, control arms and joints.
The driver side bolts were very loose.
If not tightened it could have caused a serious accident.

The mechanic was very surprised how loose they were and said I was lucky it was found and corrected now before serious damage was done.

Don’t use if you’re on a strict schedule.

Booking was easy but service is not to standard.
Appointment time wasn’t honoured.

Booked for a 11-1 arrival. Had to call them to find out where they were at 1:20, while waiting around to let them in through the gates.
Get told another hour. Then over two hours past the allotted time range and get a call from another mechanic who tried to get me to cancel so they didn’t have to come today.

Appointment was booked with the assurance the mechanic would make the time as I am supposed to be offsite by 4pm and am now told it will go well over 5.

Very dissatisfied without even getting any work done and won’t be using lubemobile again. A call or text much earlier would have mitigated much of the frustration.

Attending mechanic is great but was clearly being stuffed around by scheduling and management.

Robert (C35) OUTSTANDING mechanic

Robert (C35) came out today to replace my Toyota RAV4 4 Alternator & battery. He was excellent from start finish, nothing was a problem for him. Incredibly knowledgeable about cars, I would trust him with my cars anytime. Thanks Rob.

Great Experience and Service - Thanks Lube Mobile Mechanic.

Great Experience and Service Provided by Sudan - Mobile Lube Mobile Mechanic - Mobile Code-KF12
He was very super in providing service by identifying problem and fixing my car Starter Motor Issue and Engine Oil. As part of Full Service he took care of all aspects including Brakes, Collant Checks, Engine Oil, Typre checks etc.
Sudan is best mobile mechanic providing exceptional service to customer in timely manner.

Best service ever

Driving to work this morning and punctured my tyre with a massive screw.
Called lube mobile who promptly booked me in for someone to come out and change my tyre over to my spare between 12-2pm.
Aaron called me just past 12 to say he was here and within a matter of minutes had the damaged tyre off and spare on, ready to go
He was so helpful and kind, answered all of my questions and had it done in a flash!
Will definitely be calling him for any future mechanical needs - absolutely made my day

Not trustworthy

Not trustworthy
excessive charges- they charge you when not doing labour (sitting in their car) and are very slow
someone else commented on how slow they were to work
another mechanic confirmed the job should have taken much less time
left coolant stains and didn't tell me
I called during the job and discussed my concerns about the time they were spending sitting in their car and vaping in it and again after speaking to another mechanic. Both times this was dismissed
The Manager said he would try see what he could do but then did not bother to return my phone call

Watch how from local WA Manager cutely accuses catastrophic failure on my diagnosis, a 70-odd-year-old amputee, who can no longer work on his vehicles, and engages Lube Mobile, who spends a lot on Google and very little on training on those who either do not have the tools or knowledge of how it is done here in Australia. While I am discussing with the regional manager who is quoting me $7-8,000 to rectify a blown head gasket, and likely head issue, hangs up on me because he is off to an important meeting. This issue occurred after the vehicle, was handed back to me as fixed, after parting with $1,400. Watch this space I do not intend to be pushed off to ACC.
Update: After speaking to specialists, reputable and experienced service providers have confirmed Lube Mobile is again having a lend of me, and l have one of these companies coming out to do a pressure test to access which hose allegedly replaced and paid for was new and was fitted correctly. I have already dispelled Lube Mobile alleging it will take 3 - 4 weeks to now fix.
More to come as we discover exactly what they have done.
Further, revealing, and exposing, what now is the behaviour I suspected was occurring, to the extent Lube Mobile will read here how exposed they are, and Monday they will be receiving an official demand for details of their Legal Representatives. You do not need to be fobbed off to ACC by these guys when you hear what has happened here.
You can work this out for yourself. As you have heard, I was handed the vehicle back fixed, and it overheated on my test drive just hours after it was deemed sorted, my $1,420.00 was in their bank account so;
- Wednesday - On my first drive got one 1-klm from home temperature off the chart,
- Thursday – The Mechanic came back and said another hose had blown and would cost me $ 250 more plus hose, of course, my reaction was not too polite, informing him, I was paying no more until it was fixed,
- 2 hours later WA manager rings and says I am a mechanic and I know how things work you have a likely seized head and blown head gasket,
- then hour after that mechanic rang me to change his diagnosis and said it had blown the head gasket, now we see transparently, an attempt to get all players on the same page,
- State manager in his authoritative Irish accent “I have been working on the things all my life” I know these things and between the niceties, he says if we litigate this, he will provide all the voice recordings of our discussions,
- My response I was not too intimidated by any lightweight pretender, I would subpoena, all recordings of of our voice communication,
- This WA Manager persisted in trying to speak over and down to me to make a kind offer in his words prepared to credit labour to now and it needs to go to their Embleton Workshop, and he suggests it could be between $7-8,000 which is a discount on what they would normally charge for this type of repair,
- My response is not repeatable,
- I next got a call from the Regional manager very busy man off to a meeting, gets in he had been following this Job and demanding my attention to what was being offered, well now this update he will see here first-hand and find something to discuss with their legal representatives,
I had a real mechanic here for an hour or so today, confirming there has not been any pressure test done on this vehicle. We ran the vehicle for over ¾ of an hour, and there was no sign in the cooling system of a head gasket leak, and no overheating, as you will see there was no appropriate testing that could have taken place, on this update see photos of leaking hoses which precluded any such pressure test from taking place. NB: there are no normal signs of a blown head gasket or any head issues! Something any well-trained Australian Trained Motor Mechanic would know.! Now I will throw in a cheap one, I would suggest a little less Google spend, and a bit more spent on securing quality Management and Training [ manager & skilled labour.

Early this morning via email 12/02/224 4.35 am Perth Time - my review has acknowledged, and from wherever the call centre is located their well-resourced digital platform kicks into action.

NEVER EVER AGAIN

NEVER EVER AGAIN! I needed new brake pads on my car. Booked in time and asked for quote up front before service. Never received quote but mechanic shows up anyway. I thought no big deal, let him go ahead with job. He places car on a troll jack and then disappears for 90 minutes with car left on jack and no stands. Comes back and spends a total of 40 minutes putting on new brake pads. Chargers me 227 for labor which included time he disappeared for, parts and call out fee of 105, total 447 for two new brake pads. Called and asked for clarification and assistance to head office. Mechanic calls back and abuses me and tries to intimidate me. Manager calls back and said he will investigate and get back to me. It has been 3 weeks with no return call.

I have used lube mobile for 5 years

I have used lube mobile for 5 years, to do log book services. I was happy with them until my recent service this January. Invoice says all fluids were topped up...however, I find this morning that my coolant level is well below minimum and the stated road test was certainly not done at all. I now have a new noise in my rear brakes which started immediately after the service (replaced rear brakes at service last year) Very disappointing. I will not be using Lube Mobile again.Dishonest.

Please do not use this company

Steering stopped in the car on a weekend so called Lube Mobile to come out as could not drive the car. This was my first mistake. Sent out a young mechanic who said that it was the Harmonic Balancer ($1000 part) which would need to be replaced. Upon further inspection he said it will also need a new cv shaft. My husband had to agree (who knows nothing about cars and their costs but we were desperate to get this sorted) and the mechanic left to get the parts. Installed the new parts and he took the car for a drive and charged $2643.50 saying it was all done. He left the car in the driveway and when we drove the car into the garage it was making a loud growling noise which was not present before the repair. Got the same mechanic back out 28/11/23 and he said it was air con compressor and would cost another $5000 to fix but I could drive with windows down. He also said that he should have added this the day before but did not see this issue then. Got 2nd opinion from another mechanic and RACQ and they said it was not air con but related to previous repair done on 27th as the Harmonic Balancer had a wobble in it from overtightening causing the belt tensioner to bounce and there was also splits in the CV boot from damage from the repair. Called the Manager at Lube Mobile and he was not interested at all and took offence at us telling him what the 2nd mechanic said. They sent another young lube mobile mechanic back out on the 1/12/2023 and he could clearly see belt was flapping making the noise but still insisted it was air con compressor and it would cost $4500 (this was not noted for original repair) he took a video of the belt flapping. We had to take the car to another mechanic who had to do the original repair as it was not safe to drive and we had to pay again when the repairs should have been carried out correctly the first time for the cost involved. Both RACQ and mechanic said it was not the Air Conditioning Compressor.
We have tried to seek a refund for the parts but have had no response.
This company needs to be shut down and should be ashamed of themselves especially in the current economic climate as they are clearly taking advantage of people. They are criminals. If I could give 0 stars I would. My final piece of advice would be to never use this company ever even for something minor and we are now resorting to legal proceedings as the Office of Fair Trade was not responded to by Lube Mobile when we filed a complaint. The RACQ mechanic and our mechanic both said that they would never use or recommend Lube Mobile to anyone. I hope this helps someone else to not be taken advantage of by this company as clearly from the reviews this happens quite often.

Didn`t turn up to do the job

I booked online the day before at a time of between 12 and 2pm and when the arrival time came hit 1pm they called me to say they were not coming as they did not have a mechanic available.
I had to rearrange my day and leave work to wait at home when they would have known in the morning they did not have anyone available.
Wast of time, I had the repair done elsewhere and also at half the quoted price
Never again
