The worst service in Europe!
Buses are late, apps are useless and most drivers don't provide you with even basic customer service.

I finished work today just after 2pm, and as usual went to get a 106 bus in Fort Kinnaird and it was 15 minutes late. Not only that, it also disappeard on the app and even on the bus stop's screen, and yet, it randomly showed up when I was about to find a taxi to get home. It happens almost every day, especially with east coast buses. However, what annoys me the most is some drivers' attitude. They never communicate why they were late or never tell you why they stop at stops of their own choosing and wait for ages for god knows what like it's all ok and normal. I find it to be rude and disrespectful, as people pay money to use this service and it's theitlr job to get people places on time.
If I locked the door to my reception and disappeared for 10 minutes without a word of explanation and kept doing it repeatedly, I would be dealing with complaints and consequently with a disciplinary procedure.
So happy to see that there are still jobs out there where you don't have to care about the people who keep your business/salary going.

To the bus driver on the 33 this morning 10/1/25 @ 06.00 who threw a tissue at my daughter who fell getting off the bus hit her head and smashed her cheek and was bleeding,alone and scared ur a real hero thanks not even worth the one star left

Friendly and brilliant driver on the 44 coming out from Edinburgh to Balerno around 2:30pm today Sunday 5th Jan.
Very heavy snow and he navigated the roads really well and with a smile for everyone 💚🙂

I'm mystifies by your critics. Lothian Buses is unfailingly reliable, the staff are polite and friendly - and I am so glad to live in a city which offers such a service.

A negative experience on multiple occasion from different drivers. I didn't know that asking for two single tickets is a trigger for hard stares and aggressive comments (twice this happened!). This is the worst company I've dealt with in Scotland. As opposed to bringing out the best of the nice and friendly Scottish culture, they show a very different face!

The app is terrible you really don’t know if a bus will show up or is cancelled, you don’t know if the bus will take you the whole way or just one stop further along the road, you want a reliable service stick with border buses.

If you’re honest with what service you are going to provide the we can adjust accordingly, don’t leave standing at a bus stop for half an hour wondering whether the next bus is going to show up.

Also this has happened multiple time with this bus service

Wayne is an absolute gem. He saw me in what i'd call, "mild distress" wrangling slightly wobbly mates towards the bus and he jumped out to help, instead of driving off. Good guy. Def deserves a wee pay rise

Late for a job at least once a week. Delay can reach up to one hour. Bus 400 has no backup at all and no online tracking available.
Today had to divert via the town,hopped on a bus 5 and a driver was so unapproachable. Total disappointment...

On Friday evening l traveled home from Princes Street to Newcraighall Village on a NO 30 bus and the traffic was busy.The driver of the bus was a very young lady named “Nicola”.As an ex bus driver,l want to compliment “Nicola” on the quality of her driving-absolutely exceptional.Smooth driving with never such as a jolt because her excellent use of the brakes.l spoke to “Nicola” on leaving the bus and complimented her and l said that l would send a customer review so l trust that you will let her know about this review.

The buses are fine, but the staff is very rude and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to travel with this company. During our first ride, the lady driver was shouting at us and seemed to be acting in a racist manner. On the other hand, all the taxi drivers we encountered were excellent.

They are increasing the price every year, and lowering the service standards! Buses are always late and not accurate times on the app! I hope another company will come to market so we wont have to use lothian buses anymore!

I waited 24 from Royal Infirmary. According to my bus&tram app. it should have been due. After several minutes it was still due. It eventually arrived after waiting over 20 minutes. Another 24 took over our bus when we were on Old Dalkeith Road, and another one on Mayfield Road. It was obvious that two of the services were very late. Most annoying thing the one arrived to Royal Infirmary first, the one also I took turned out to be the slowest one that made me late for my appointment.

Got us quickly to the next Airlink bus. What a guy! What a brilliant service!

Waited at a bus stop in armadale from 8 10 am bus was due at 8 20 sat there until just before 9 one turned up absolutly shocking have noticed to that buses come earlier than they should at stops and dont wait till the time they should be leaving (ie arrive at 8.05 isnt due till 8 20 ) at that stop but leave 15mins before u then leave the house for say 8.20bus and iy has already been and gone earlier, not suutable uf its your job thats at stake they say use public transport you can trust it.

The bus drivers are great and often very helpful. On that alone I would have given them five stars.
Sadly the bus route services can be patchy with some delays at certain times or buses over crowded so I feel the organizers can do a better job.
Overall I feel the bus service I use is good.

Lothian buses always feels like taking on adventure. You never know when or how but either way you get to your destination. Sometimes it feels like an educational trip, they take you to places where you never thought you would go. Or they don't, they just cancel your bus, reroute it due to rain, high winds etc. It is always a joy.

Fantastic bus company , buses are great , drivers are really friendly and helpful , the standard of the fleet is fantastic compared to other companies , great value for money on Lothian Buses and the Airlink Service 100 , Best company in Scotland!

Me and my wife,got the x18 from bathgate to edinburgh, we were charged £5.50 each for day tickets, when queried at the time as I thought it was wrong , we were told, that as long as we were not travelling in edinburgh that was the correct price instead of being£8.50, which is fine, the journey home we got on the bus no questions about the tickets. Due circumstances I got off at Corstorphine, and when I got the next bus was told that my ticket wasn't valid , so why don't lothian country make it clear as to what zones are what,absolute joke of a company

I don't understand why the number 22 bus is consistently late arriving at Morrison Crescent every single day. It's frustrating to spend all day at work and then wait an additional hour. I might as well just drive and park nearby.
