I purchased Kutana hybrid pants and…
I purchased the Kutana hybrid pants and after only 1 outing and 1 wash there's som pilling (so they call it) that appear on the seat of my pants. Customer service says it's normal. I can understand after a year or a couple of years of wearing the pants but not after 1 outing. Will never buy Kuiu again
Snapped tent pole
I emailed 9 days ago about a snapped pole on my storm star tent. And regarding a new pole,still havent had a response back,apart from one saying its been passed onto the warranty team. Ive got a video on my fb of it handling 60mph with ease. But it snapped while taking it down. I need this tent now winter is approaching
Kuiu's Warranty, WEAK Weasle Words "Practical Product Lifespan"
Wife purchased kuiu hunting hat more then 5 years ago. I wear it in archery season Idaho which lasts 30 days and I usually wear it 10 days/year.
Velcro turned into fussy non-functional mess . Submitted warranty claim and was denied because I surpassed their Practical Product Lifespan whic is an arbitrary # of years assigned by Kuiu. Wow, loose a customer for a $35 hat because you don't vack your expensive products.
Upon further investigation I understand why, All of their California based company are manufactured in CHINA....figures.

KUIU SUCKS
I have a ton of KUIU gear that I have purchased from them directly and some through other vendors, ebay, etc. I purchased a $600.00+ Kutana jacket for an Arctic Circle hunt per my outfitter's recommendation however, when the time came to leave for Nunavut...the temps in the region were unusually high so I didn't pack the jacket. It was unnecessary. At this point I had not even removed it from the package it arrived in. After my trip...while unpacking my gear, I tried the jacket on and found it to be much larger than expected. I should have purchased an XL instead of an XXL (I upsized to offset insulative layering beneath it) and when I attempted to exchange it for an XL, I was told their policy for this was time-limited and they were unwilling to make this exchange. This is why I and many others prefer Sitka Gear to KUIU...they never bum you out like this. I even wrote the following to KUIU when requesting the exchange: "Can I exchange it for an XL? When you see it you'll know it's only been worn inside for a minute. Happy to return it for inspection before you agree to anything. Sorry, I'm an idiot. But it is a very nice jacket and a helluva lot lighter than my HH arctic jacket...by a lot! Thank you for your consideration of my request."
I felt it reasonable for them to at least look at it and consider my request but their response was: "Thank you for reaching out to us, and patience as we have been working through some higher-than-average numbers. Unfortunately, the order does not meet our returns guidelines because it is outside of our return policy timeframe and is no longer eligible for a return or exchange. For future reference, you can view our Return Policy here. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please feel free to let us know if there is anything else we can help you with."
Well apologies are about as useful as a bow without arrows and while KUIU's policies may make financial sense to them...in reality it costs them repeat customers, goodwill and future revenues in the long term. I own four businesses and know it's important to do right by your customers so they continue to purchase and refer the company to others. I had previously read negative KUIU reviews addressing this issue and read about it in posts on hunting sites and now I know it's fact. I actually hate KUIU now and will never purchase from them again...they don't take care of their customers. Their loss is Sitka's gain. KUIU customer service sets the consumer care bar so low...you can't find it with a shovel. The simple exchange of an unworn jacket in a smaller size (which would not hurt them financially) would have prevented this review and my distain for KUIU. This experience reminded me of a famous quote by noted author/lecturer/educator Brian Tracy: "The ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term, is the indispensable prerequisite for success." KUIU management should read his books on the psychology of sales & marketing.
KUIU is rated F by the Better Business Bureau.

BUYER BEWARE Appalling customer service! One of 3 shirts we purchased from them (all the same style) has threads all pulled through the material, they are saying it's pilling which it isn't!! The second person that answered me after 3 emails, someone called Chris Ridder - Operations Supervisor said the original customer service girl Katherine was correct in her assessment and he has now blamed us for the treatment of the shirt and many other reasons! Funny how 2 shirts are ok and 1 isn't???!!! and now it isn't just apparent "pilling" its because of a range of things???
He basically F off we don't care if you go elsewhere!!! NICE......
No warranty of failing chest pack
Great gear, great design but very poor service when you do have an issue. I will switch to a brand that does provide service.
My bino pack add ons, keep falling of, and Leon of CS keeps asking photo’s and videos’s. I sent photo’s and now i need to make a video? it is a 160 dollar pack…send a new one or not. If i have to make a video special for them and make time it costs more then you gain.
Horrible Customer Service
Wouldn't exchange a size on an unworn, still packaged vest at 50 days or even provide a store credit. The stuff you sell isn't cheap though comparable products out there cost less. What a mistake to buy from you! Your customer service reps are also sarcastic and rude. If the agent had at least been polite and friendly, I wouldn't have bothered here. Pathetic customer service.

Absolutely amazing customer support! I specifically looked for a place to leave this review because I was not able to leave a review on the specific item for some reason. I ordered three different times and had great success with customer support each time I had to return or exchange.

Poor Customer Service & Average Product. Product is average yet they charge like its the Rolls Royce of outdoor gear. Who doesnt have free shipping when you pay $160 for a shirt that had poor quality then I had to pay to send it back. DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY
Upland field vest
Upland field vest. Had to cut off the top buckle and reattach with a carabiner to snug up the pack. Also removed the support bars for bag extension. I would never use it extended like that. Water bottles seem bulky as well. Otherwise looks like a fine vest.

Kuiu Rules
Their website is easy to navigate, with clear photographs and descriptions of the merchandise. Their products are fairly unique and very high quality for reasonable prices. They ship reasonably quickly. I've only had to deal with customer service once and it lived up to my expectations.
I have 3 issues with Kuiu.
I have 3 issues with Kuiu.. the first problem is they do it stand behind their products… Just search the internet on this one for thousands of examples. 2nd, their sizing is wrong compared to most clothing manufacturers.. I wear a 36 pant and a 2x shirt usually. I spend a lot of time in the gym but I am not Arnold for sure. Their clothes are too tight in the joints unless you size way up. Then you are wearing a dress as a coat. Lastly.you buy 3 different items in the same pattern and guarantee one of them the colors will be different from the others. No, the elk don’t care. The point is you are paying premium price for something and the quality sucks.

I paid £126 inc delivery for flannel shirts, advertised by Kuiu... The shape on the photo did not match the original shirt sent to me.
It was a costly and biggest mistake in my life.
The quality of the fabric was good, but the shape was OUT OF ORDER.
Cut around the neck and collar was a cheap unskilled job, ridiculously big, and distorted maybe good for a hippopotamus or XL bully... uncomfortable...
I lost my money and my shirt had gone to the bin...
Never buy there again.

Great product but the worst customer service. Over 21 days to receive a refund. Their website says 5-7 days. Needless to say, I will be fighting this on my CC.

Absolutely horrible experience
Absolutely horrible experience. Purchased pants, wrong size. Sent back for exchange. Almost a month later and no sign of the exchange shipping. Apathetic replies to email saying they haven’t really figured out their exchange process but assure my item arrived. I ultimately changed it from an exchange to a refund at which point they claim they received the pants back in a completely different color. Waiting on my refund and/or a call to American Express.
Terrible service
Terrible service, ordered goods for Christmas and still no sign of them after 6 weeks, after many emails and an unphased attitude from the customer services I requested a refund which I only received after I threatened a chargeback on my credit card! I eventually received a refund after 8 weeks - yes total 2 months no goods and no gifts at Christmas, disappointed considering the premium price tags.

Shop elsewhere. My order was cancelled due to apparent issues with their ecommerce partner eShop World. Over a month and a half later still no refund just excuses that it is all due to eShop World.
Beware of using this company KUIU
I have ordered twice with this company. First parcel arrived all ok BUT second has not arrived. Tracking number is not recognised by UPS or UK postal service. I have tried to ring kuiu but number is incorrect on web site. Emailed x5+ times with the generic reply that is pathetic. Be careful buying from this company as their customer service is non-existent but they seem to be happy charging high prices for items not delivered.
My wife put a Christmas present order…
My wife put a Christmas present order in Nov. 25. All items showed in stock and next day shown as shipped. For the next 3 weeks order said it was cancelled, then shipping, then cancelled and in the end they sent her a 30% discount coupon saying the order could not be fulfilled.
I will find another home to spend my thousands on hunting gear.
