Thorough learning content, very supportive tutors
The course was very thorough, with plenty of end-of-module quizzes and practice tests, and the tutors were very friendly and supportive. I much enjoyed completing Becoming A Proofreader and have gained lots of in-depth knowledge and skills. The course was very thorough and well-organized. The additional resources available are extensive. There was always a tutor available to answer questions. The testing was tough, but fair. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get in on the ground level of a proofreading career.

Comprehensive Course
The course taught me everything I needed to know to become a professional proofreader. It dramatically improved my knowledge of Microsoft Word, and refreshed my grammar skills. Everything about the course seemed designed to help learners to succeed; I particularly enjoyed Simon’s videos and my friendly conversations with two of the tutors. Recommended.

Thorough and very useful course
The course was really thorough and taught me a lot. I would have given it five stars, but the minus one is for the promise of work if you score over 80% on the test. It’s not a lie - you do get signed up with their sister company and you do get work, but the lack of available work is a problem. It gets frustrating checking the system over and over to see if tasks have come in. There just isn’t enough work available for the ‘guaranteed job’ promise to be a valid reason for signing up for this course.

Great course, but it has “holes.” Having the availability of the…
Having the availability of the proofreading tutors at my fingertips helped me the most. I feel that some areas of grammar could have received more attention with instruction and explanation. I wished there was more opportunity for targeted practice on various skills. I could have benefited from that. I had several questions about proofreading when I started and it helped to answer those but when the course was over it left me with new ones.

Opened doors for freelance work!
Having just retired from my 30+ year career, I was looking for an opportunity to pick up a skill that would open doors for me to do remote, freelance work. Knowadays program was exactly what I was looking for! Knowadays programs were thorough, and I was drawn to the promise of employment if I achieved high marks. I took the proofreading and editing classes and I am now working with Proofed! I leaned so much and refer back to the programs for assistance in my work.
