I'm very happy with the course I took for General Proofreading. It covers a lot of information and really prepares you to work as a confident proofreader.

The company gives all the tools needed in a simple to follow format. They offer rapid responses to questions the student might have and they offer lots of examples for each module,
I would definitely recommend this course and certification to others.

I had a great experience earning a proofreading certification from this company. While some of the materials are a little outdated, there was a responsive community for support. As a lifelong editor and writer, I found the proofreading training to be just what I needed to learn the specific skills of this niche to proofread for Chicago style. It was worth the price for me. It took me about 3 months.

I am working at my own rate, which allows me time to absorb that which I am reading. Being able to back up and read something again is helpful. I am still wondering if I will be successful once I have completed this course, but I keep reminding myself of how enthusiastic and supportive you all are. So, I am keeping at it daily.
I have been setting my morning alarm an hour earlier than had been my usual, and have not missed one of my morning sessions. Yay, me!

I paid what I thought was quite a lot of money for this course. As I used to spend a lot of time proofreading in my recent job, now that I am retired, I thought I would put my skills to good use in order to supplement my pension and thought this course could help me refresh my skills and maybe help me to find clients However, I had a lot of trouble trying to download the lessons in the first module, so I emailed them at the customer support email address whichI was given in my welcome email, should I experience any problems. However, my email bounced straight back to me as 'undeliverable'! I checked that I had sent it to the correct address, so I tried the email address which sent my welcome email, but it still bounced back! I'm not at all happy with this poor service.

The course leads you in the right direction to become a proofreader. Trust them when they say it is completely on you and how much effort you put in to learn and apply the material. The downside is you don’t know the mistakes you’ve made on the exams, so it’s hard to learn from them. The practice transcripts are good to learn from, but it would be nice to have mock reporter preference sheet so the annotated versions are easier to learn from. The hardest part is the marketing! You really have to put yourself out there when getting started. I think the course does a good job at leading you into that right direction to get started, but I wish it was more in depth with step-by-step instructions as I was totally lost having no experience in starting a business. The best part about the whole course is access to the support groups. I would be lost without them and I believe that’s what gets a lot of people through. Overall, I’d recommend the course to someone interested and I’m glad I put in the work to get through!

I received may emails that were extremely encouraging and they informed me about groups to join while working on the lessons.

The course was very easy to follow. It felt like a review of the basics of the English language, which was very helpful, and I loved that it provided so many resources for how to get started as a freelancer. I feel that it would be helpful to future students if the rules referenced in the practice essays followed CMOS 18th Edition rather than the 17th edition.

Your course is detailed and complete. It walks the student through the proofreading process in small manageable steps, and doesn’t stop there: it provides comprehensive information on marketing and the nuts and bolts of starting a business. Your narratives are framed within the understanding that many of us are scared and unsure of ourselves; you infuse your training with encouragement. Your testimonials make this venture real. You follow up, knowing that for some of us, fear hides within procrastination. It’s icing on the cake that you allow the graduate access to your training modules going forward, that you offer membership in a graduate facebook group, provide links to potential employers such as Authors Unite and other online employment sources, with good information about fees and focusses.
I highly recommend this program.

For me, transcript proofreading is a great part-time reentry back into the working world as a former attorney now on social security disability. Thanks for providing an opportunity that complements my natural focus and training with my experience!

I was very pleased with the clean and precise learning format. It was a pleasure to use. When one lesson was finished, it was easy to move on without having to search for the next lesson. I gave the program four stars because, at times, the lessons were too simple and didn't go into depth enough to match up with the tests. Overall, I was very pleased with this program. Thank you!

The course material provided by Proofread Anywhere was very informative and well organized. It was a good starting point for me, though I admit I am still intimidated and overwhelmed by the business side of things. This is my fault for not keeping up with the times of online platforms and social media. Though I feel I have a long way to go before launching my own proofreading business, I highly recommend this course to anyone thinking about going into the profession.

I love the way this course is constructed! It was easy to complete when I had the time. I love that it offers audio, video, and a transcript for each module. The Blog and Facebook groups are awesome too! Whenever I read the Blog articles, there are always links to software, tools, and other content. And the content is always informative and worth reading. I can't rate this course high enough. It was definitely worth the investment!

The team is responsive and very helpful. The review of English grammar is great! I'm learning/relearning stuff I haven't thought about in over 40 years. I'm just getting started, but look forward to completing the course.

This program is highly educational. I thought I knew all about spelling and grammar. Boy, was I wrong. There was so much I forgot, and so much more to grammar than just identifying misspelled words. You won't be sorry if you take this course. You will find it will increase your critical thinking skills, not to mention encourage self-motivation, purpose, and allow you to apply your knowledge in real-life scenarios. You can be part of a team of extremely helpful individuals to assist you on your journey

It took a while for me to get through the course; I work full-time and was not able to devote as much time as I wanted. Now, I am looking forward to doing something that I have always wanted to do.

The General Proofreading course from Proofread Anywhere was so helpful! I had taken some other grammar course refreshers before starting this course, so I was prepared to look specifically at proofreading in terms of starting a freelance career. The grammar lessons in this course covered a lot of ground, and they even reviewed some aspects of grammar that weren't emphasized in the previous courses I had taken, so I appreciate the elements specifically highlighted in this course (especially in the 'spelling and word use for proofreaders' section).

The course did a particularly good job of laying out what is involved in pursuing the work of proofreading, whether working for a company or working as a freelance proofreader through setting up your own business. The modules related to tools and methods for proofreading; types of proofreading; and how to set up, market, and run your own business are extremely helpful for the aspiring proofreader. I also think it is worth selecting the Ignite Plus option to have your final exam graded and receive the certificate of completion, just to have that extra confirmation for yourself and others that you've put in the work and do have these skills.

I am sorry, but I cannot rate the General Proofreading course at this time. It has been a very bad time for me in the last three months. I had too many interruptions by several events I do not wish to get into. If these events had not happened, I would be in another Proofreading course, but they did not. I am having to deal with the after-effects of last year and clear them up before I can continue with the General Proofreading course. I do not know how much longer this will take.

The course really gave everything I needed to know to feel confident in starting freelance proofreading, and it being on my own time gave me the peace of mind I needed to know I wouldn’t lose this opportunity when a family illness required me to pause my pursuit.
