At first I doubted if getting a warranty was a good investment, but I’ve been a customer for about 60 days and I already got a my window motor and seat motor both replaced. Great investment and still have a few years left of service

Will took care of me

Will took care of me. I don’t know much about cars and especially not repairs. I signed up through Will in November 2018. When my transmission blew early last month I was terrified. I called Will and he immediately helped me take care of the repair at my dealership working with Josh in claims. I barely paid for anything aside from my deductible. If I wasn’t covered I don’t know what I would’ve done. Probably lost my job. When I asked Will how I could repay him all he asked was to write a review. So here it is. Thank you so much Will. Nicest man.

BUYER BEWARE

Not sure where all these good reviews are coming from but this company is a complete scam. Look at BBB instead they are much more accurate. This “company” scammed me into purchasing their extended warranty, and when push came to shove and it was time for me to file a claim- they basically told me they wouldn’t cover the repairs due to their inspector stating the damages were “pre existing”. Even when I have a car fax mentioning nothing wrong with the it. How the heck do you know if something is pre existing or not? If that’s the case can you also tell when the damage occurred? There’s a bunch of fine print these guys purposely avoid explaining to you upon purchasing. Furthermore, when I attempt to get refund they send over an NDA basically stipulating that you can not talk about the company after cancellation and can’t request a refund. BUYER BEWARE!

Complaint filed with NJ Office of Attorney General

I would give zero stars if I could. I will be sending in this complaint tomorrow to the NJ Attorney General's Office. This business is a scam and needs to be shut down. I encourage anyone who has been hurt by Ideal Auto Protect to go on line and file a complaint with the NJ Office of the Attorney General. The complaint does not have to be professionally prepared. It is simple to do and if they get enough of them, they will take action.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against the above-named business herein after referred to as “The Company”.
A quick Google search on the Better Business Bureau Website will reveal a pervasive pattern of unfair and deceptive business practices and fraud. Much like what I have experienced and is detailed below.

On July 5, 2019, I purchased an Elite 3 year/36,000 mile warranty for my 2010 Chevy Tahoe offered by The Company for $1987 (Exhibit 1). At the time, my sales representative, told me that if we wanted to break the payments up monthly, I just needed to let him know within 30 days.

Shortly thereafter, I called back and said we wished to take advantage of the offer to pay monthly. I was told that my credit card would be charged back all but $800 which The Company referred to as a “down payment”. (Exhibit 2). It is still unclear to me what the additional $40 was for as I did not notice it until filing this claim. During that phone call, I agreed to make monthly payments using the same credit card information that was previously provided. According to what I was told by James Miller, automatic payments were to start the following month.

On July 26, 2019, I received an email from a Company representative, Shaun Michaels who provided me with the details of the payment plan. I was to pay $49.46 per month for 24 months. (Exhibit 3). I signed the agreement through Docusign.

On August 1, 2019, I signed the agreement for the tires (Exhibit 4) and was sent a PDF via email (from Shaun Michaels) of the warranty agreement. (Exhibit 5) Page 10 of the warranty agreement under Florida Special Requirements expressly states “After this vehicle service agreement has been in effect for 60 days, WE will not cancel the VEHICLE SERVICE AGREEMENT unless there was a material misrepresentation or fraud at the time of purchase…” This is not at all the case in this instance.

It was not until approximately six months later, when I needed to replace one of my tires, did I even think about my warranty. At that time, pursuant to The Company’s warranty agreement, I made a claim for $100 for a new tire on approximately February 1, 2020. (Exhibit 7). AT NO TIME WAS I EVER INFORMED THAT THE COMPANY WAS NOT COLLECTING PAYMENTS. AT NO TIME WAS I AWARE THAT THE $49.46 CHARGE WAS NOT BEING MADE TO MY ACCOUNT.

Finally, after five months, I received a money order for $100 from The Company (Exhibit 8) in response to my tire claim. Having never receive any notice from The Company that my policy was cancelled or delinquent in any way, and having had my claim paid, albeit not timely, I did not give my warranty another thought until December, 2020.

In mid-December 2020, I brought my vehicle into my mechanic. My mechanic agreed to call The Company before beginning the repairs. He was told that my policy was no longer in effect. (Exhibit 9) On December, 23, 2020, I emailed the Company. I got no response. The estimates to repair my vehicle total $1193.55 (Exhibit 10 & 10A)

On January 6, 2021, I called The Company. I spoke with Josh Walker. He informed me that my policy was cancelled due to non-payment. I asked him when my policy was cancelled. He said he did not know. I asked if The Company ever notified me, he said he did not know. I asked who would know, he said that was all he could tell me. I asked to speak with someone in the billing department, he said that the billing department does not speak with customers.
I asked to speak with a manager, he told me that he did not know the names of any of the managers. I realized very quickly that there was something deceptive going on. I asked for something in writing stating my policy had been cancelled. Mr. Walker provided me with an email. (Exhibit 11)

The following day, on January 7, 2021, after reviewing the terms of my policy (Exhibit 5 pages 8 & 10) I called back, and again spoke with Mr. Walker. Mr. Walker told me that he would refund a portion of my policy if I signed a cancellation request. ? He had no answer. He just kept repeating the same narrative, “Sign the form and we will send you a refund.” He then emailed me a docusign cancellation request (Exhibit 12).

I have run out of room in this review but you get the idea. I URGE everyone to file a complaint. This review platform will not allow me to post the link. But Google New Jersey Attorney General Office

You might have to sue for a refund

I first purchased coverage through this company in October of 2020. I traded in the vehicle I had purchased coverage for in December of 2020. On December 17, 2020, I submitted the cancellation forms and waited for my refund. After not receiving the refund, I reached out for an update on my refund. I was told that it would take 7 - 10 business days. I waited...until January 13, 2021 and still had not received the refund. Once again, I asked for an update via email. There was no reply. On February 2, 2021, after STILL not receiving my refund, I emailed the company again letting them know that I was going to begin reporting their company via poor reviews and consumer groups. I was contacted by phone within minutes of posting a google review. I was told that the refund had been sent but must have been lost in the mail. I was assured that the issue would be resolved and I agreed that if a tracking number for the refund was provided, I would remove the poor review. On February 3, I was provided the tracking number and removed my poor review. It is now February 10, 2021. The tracking number provided by the company shows that it STILL HASNT BEEN MAILED...waiting delivery to USPS. This means, of course, that the company generated a tracking number internally, but failed to deliver the package to the post office. I again sent an email, on February 10, to find out why I had been lied to. On February 12, I received a reply stating that it was company policy for customers to sign a legal waiver prior to mailing the refund. Bear in mind, this is the first time I am being told this...TWO MONTHS after terminating my coverage and 10 days since I had been led to believe the check was in the mail. This also meant that I was directly lied to on February 2 when I was told a refund had already been mailed. The waiver included the refund amount. I paid $2500 for a 4 year plan. Refund amount...$1685.25

That’s right, folks, for 2 months of coverage with no claims, they were charging me $814.75. I responded by asking for an itemized cost breakdown that showed exactly what I was being charged, the name of the person I was speaking to, and a copy of my contract. The reply I received was an empty apology along with a new waiver, except the refund amount was now $1986.25 which lowered what they were charging to $513.75. In that same email, dated February 12, “iDeal Management” stated that they would “gladly provide” the cost breakdown but it would have to wait until Monday (February 15). They did not provide the name I requested nor the contract I asked for. Since the 15th was President’s day, I replied that I needed the information by the 17th. Well, it’s now February 17th, and I have received nothing. No cost breakdown. No name of who I was speaking to. No copy of the contract. Nothing. Which is ironic because in their email, “iDeal Management” stated they were “doing their best”. The incompetence and inaction of this company at “their best” is astounding. I shudder to think of what this team is like on a bad day.

I will be pursuing legal action against iDeal in the coming days. Perhaps they will finally give me the information I need when presented with a subpoena. I would not EVER recommend this company to anyone. Seriously, find another company.

Ideal auto protect is a SCAM DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!

Ideal auto protect is a scam they need to be held accountable for scamming consumers.They are rude, unprofessional, and never answer the phone. They lie they say they will call and send a check a whole year pass and nothing they are really scam artist. Talked to Ron Ford and Josh what a joke they just say a manager will contact you nobody called why ? Because this is a SCAM!! Whoever works at this company are doing something very illegal just taking money from people.
They wont give you a refund no matter what you say. They should not be in business as they are bully scams.I Paid $2100 all at once thinking that I was getting a good warranty I call to make a small claim denied after few months another small claim denied had to pay everything out pocked and this past week my car transmission broke down and there you go they denied the claim after having emails and prove that the transmission was cover as they of course are a joke and scam company how they are still in business no idea! we shouldn’t let this people steal more money I’m putting a claim against them. Please don’t waste your money TERRIBLE company

This company is a total scam/ rip off. Steal customers money. Don't Pay claims. Gives customers the run around. Wish I never seen this company online. FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! I purchased an Elite warranty for my vehicle. I never had any issues with my vehicle. Purchased the warranty over a year ago. I took my vehicle in for service cause it started to leak oil. Based on the diagnostics I filed a claim for repairs. After two weeks of back and forth, Ideal said they needed to send out an adjuster. After another week of calling and calling for update he stated that the adjuster stated that the repairs needed are pre-existing; and, was a result of my truck overheating. I told ideal My truck never overheated. NEVER! and I told them someone is lying. I purchased my warranty over a year ago with Ideal and had no trouble with my vehicle until a year later and the adjuster is saying the issues were preexisting.
That was a complete lie. This company does not want to pay. They are selling fraudulent warranties. Do not purchase anything from this company. I wish I had come here first before I paid in full for the warranty. The claims representative and/or the claim adjuster are liars. They don't pay claims. They are a complete scam.
And, by the way this company keeps protesting my review because they don't want the truth to be told.

Shaun is simply amazing!!

Great Auto Protection at an affordable price

Salesman Zach Harper was very courteous and professional during my transaction. Zach used his excellent communication skills to get me an outstanding warranty package from his manager. I was able to verify the legitimacy of Zach’s offer through my local Mercedes Benz dealership. Additionally, claims manager Ron Ford answered all of my questions thoroughly and in clear language. I highly recommend iDeal Auto Protect for anyone searching for a great extended warranty at an affordable price. Ask for Zach if you want the same enjoyable experience that I had.

Amazing experience with Zach

I had the pleasure of dealing with Zach Harper today and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. Zach is so knowledgeable not only about Ideal coverage, but what other company coverages are about and made it so easy for me to understand the differences and that Ideal was the right coverage for us.
