Can't get them to respond. Order not complete
Has anyone had luck getting The Icelandic Store to respond and answer a question? My order arrived quickly, but was incomplete. I have sent 4 emails via their "Contact Us" form and get NO RESPONSE.

The worst e-commerce site I know online.
They take the liberty of withdrawing products from delivery long after you have confirmed the order.
What's more, they charge customs fees of over €10 without informing customers, and it's a nasty surprise to find out once the product has already arrived in France.
If you refuse the order in the hope of being reimbursed for the products, these thieves don't reimburse the full amount of the order!
Don't waste your time with them, they're swindlers.
I ordered online around Nov 26th. My first delivery arrived within 8 days but was the wrong product. Icelandic Store quickly reshipped the correct product. That delivery seems to have disappeared in DHL's big black hole so I never did receive it. This was NOT the store's fault.
Icelandic Store provided a full refund as soon as possible considering it was Christmas. My refund was in my bank account by New Year's Eve.
I am very happy with their staff and the resolution of my issues.
I ordered alafosslopi wool on Sunday and it was delivered this morning Tuesday! Haven't had that service from wool suppliers in England! Many thanks
Beautiful wool came well packaged and arrived when they said it would. Well worth the money. Would buy wool from them again.
Very reputable company! Kristrun was very helpful with my order and really went the extra mile. The quality is top notch and love my lopapeysa.
Where do I start. The 2 sweaters arrived in colours different from the webpage. They ignored all emails for returns. I got free shipping when I ordered the sweaters but when they did reply they said they would take the shipping they had paid off any refund. I paid 68.00 pounds to return the sweaters. So all in all it wasn’t just to cost of the sweaters I had to pay import costs, return costs and on top of all of that the currency exchange taxes. Now the sweaters are back with the store they are ignoring emails to refund. Would avoid them, never again. I’ve had to go to my card provider to open a dispute.
I purchased a Fjor sweater kit, based on the photo of the finished product. The kit arrived fine, but three of the colours were different than what is called for in the pattern, and different than the photo of the sweater. My email and "contact" enquiries have been ignored. The was no mention online that wool substitutions would be made. It would be honest if they had disclosed that. The three different colours do not appear to be available internationally and the Icelandic Store did list online the colours they would send, but how is a customer to know that the listed colours are not actually the ones called for in the pattern and that a brightly coloured sweater kit will result in a much duller coloured end product. Please disclose that the colours will be different than the photo and pattern to prevent this type of disappointment. I also would have been less disappointed if one of my many emails had been responded to.
I bought their quality, expensive wool, but it was packed poorly without being placed in an inner bag just the post parcel which was thick. The only option was to use scissors to open the parcel but this cut through some of the balls of wool. When I asked for a refund for the damaged wool (due to their poor packaging) they offered a discount on my next purchase. This was unhelpful and unreasonable, particularly given the cost for postage. As per other reviews this business doesn’t manage things well when things don’t go as planned. Very disappointing. .
I bought yarn twice from Uk. Kept it under£135 to avoid import costs. Chose cheaper Icelandic post delivery option but my choice. Took 3 weeks to arrive and tracking data sketchy do may go dhl next time. However their service was great packed and shipped quickly. Yarn great value great choice and all there. Will definitely use again.
I placed an order on 12/6/2022 and received my sweater the end of March. The sweater seems to be good quality and just like it appears on the website. My only issue was that it took more than twice as long as promised for delivery. I also made many attempts to contact them about the order status in the last month and could not get any response.
I have placed four orders since January for delivery to France. All were problem free. Great choice and stock of everything I needed. Good communication as to status of order. Quick tracked delivery. One delivery I needed urgently, came in 24 hours. Really lovely, helpful staff.
Not good - contact us before you buy to get an honest opinion of what to expect from this store. Such a pity, for a nice store - I think they need a course in customer services.
Buyer beware. As others have said, if I could give this company no stars, I would.
The measure of a company (same as a person) is how they deal with the situation when it goes wrong. Order wasn’t delivered, which is disappointing in itself, but the Icelandic Store - who have received the item and have emailed to say that they have received the item back - won’t issue a refund. It’s like a company who are not used ti dealing with online orders. They don’t use PayPal either so no redress that way - this should probably should have raised alarm bells. There are too many decent companies out there offering excellent customer service to be beholding to a company who are trading as if there’s no alternative or competition. They won’t be getting anymore business from me, for sure. Be warned!
