Great saving tool for families
Hyper Jar was recommended to us by a friend. We use it to have a "shared money pot" that we can all pay in to when we go out for meals or trips together and we have also used it to manage our spending money when on holiday.
It is a great way to help kids to learn to manage money, save and have a little independence when they are out and about.
Our 12 year old regularly uses her card to go for lunch with friends and our 10 year old uses it to buy books when we go shopping.
Being able to pay for items with their own card has helped with their confidence and social skills when being served at the till, and having access to the app means they can manage their own spending sensibly.
As a parent I can add their pocket money into their pots weekly and while the kids can spend it how they choose, we can still monitor where it is spent.
Transferring money between pots is quick and easy and the cards are widely accepted.

I was looking for a pre-paid card solution for my 2 teenage daughters where I could have control over their spending but also they could have some freedom to start learning how to manage their own finances with their pocket money. After some reasearch I came across HyperJar. Sounded too good to be true at first, but it is just that. Awesome! Your kids must be 13 or over to connect the card to Apple or Google Pay (not a HyperJar restriction but their digital wallets' restrictions) and if you allow it, it can be used outside of the UK, in Europe and many more countries without fees. Thanks for the great service.

Hyper Jar I use mainly for my payment ring. The card for if I am buying on the web Very secure almost instant comes on my watch phone what you have just spent. It is better than carrying money and what you load card ring with cash you can only spend that amount y Apple Watch Phone carry my bank cards that I try not to use.Recommend Hyper Jar

Invaluable tool for a special needs child
We've been using Hyperjar for a few years now, for my son with special needs. Its absolutely invaluable for him as a tool to help with his independence and its great for us to keep tabs on what he spending and topping up his balance as required. Wouldn't be without it now. The app is so easy to use and we've not had any issues with it at all.

It is really easy to use. Great for kids
It is really easy to use and provides the safety and visibility of managing my children's jars, whilst at the same time giving them the freedom to use the card to their jar as a 'normal bank account'.

The app is easy to use, even my kids use it! I love that the kids get their own cards, it has really helped them to grow their independence and knowledge around money and the added bonus? You can see everything from your app! Spending habits, saving, you can also control where they can spend their cash! Overall great service

Generally GOOD but cashback system could be improved
Generally GOOD. BUT I have bought Tesco gift vouchers and claimed cash back. But it’s proven really difficult to get the actual cash back. HyperJar say just pay for your Tesco shop with your HyperCard and the money’s deducted. However, it seems you can’t use the cash back for a part payment and top up with a gift voucher or another card to the final value of your shop. I did get in touch with their customer service who responded quickly but didn’t seem to understand what the issue was, despite 5 attempts. I am hoping when my cashback exceeds my weekly shop - which will take about. 12 months! - I can pay using HyperCard. I’d give them 5 stars if it was easier to get your cash back. Just to say in light of the great response I got back from HyperCard, I have upgraded to 4*s. I recommend.

Your cashback is spent automatically when you pay at Tesco using your HyperJar card, which means it isn’t currently possible to combine it with other payment methods in the same transaction. That said, your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’ve shared it with our team as we’re always looking at ways to improve how cashback works.
We’re also sorry to hear your experience with customer support didn’t fully resolve things, that’s not the standard we aim for. We’ll reach out to you via email to take another look and help clarify things for you.

Good for managing kids pocket money
We have been using hyper jar for over a year now. It’s been great for managing my kids expenses.
They both have their physical cards that they use in shops/cafes/cinemas etc.
they also discovered an app recently that allows them to download the card to their digital wallet so no more running around looking for their actual card.
In the app they are able to share/transfer money to each other and/or their friends.
I, as a parent, can see all their transactions that are helpfully organised by their individual jars.
Also, when I top up their cards they can get immediate notifications when money hit their jars.
So far, we have not paid any transaction fees for topping up or transferring.
Also, noticed that the cards can be used abroad without additional charges and the exchange rate is pretty good too.
Can’t fault it. We are very happy with the service provided.

Great to start helping kids build their financial independence. Easy to put their weekly pocket money in a jar and keep track of their spending. They feel grown-up having a card. And much safer than cash. They can also use abroad on holiday
